It would be two-faced of Bush to even consider giving money to Hamas or PA. now, more than ever before. The lesson USA should learn from Iraq and 921 is that no arab is to be trusted. Bombing within Israel's borders and terrorism has not ceased after expulsions. Anarchy reigns in place where no military exists. But, Israeli military is corrupt. PA is corrupt no matter who is in charge. Where is money given to Arafat? Why does Arafat's wife get to live life of leisure? Why does Olmert get so much money for sale of his dirah? And, why do Rice and Bush insist they should have say on whether I get attacked in my home or not? Israel does not have record of ever intiating an attack, all we have done is try to prevent further damage. Expulsions of our own people shows what cowards we really are. Actually, democracy just means rule by the people - representative rule. This is an admirable goal and is necessary but not sufficient. A reponsible and enlightened democracy does not support terror. We, as Americans, should support the democratic process everywhere and isolate and punish those countries (including democracies) which support terror. These policies are not contradictory. Bush's quote that "Democratically elected representatives cannot engage in both democracy and terror" is dangerous. It sees democracy as an end in itself. It is not. RESPONSIBLE democracies are the goal. They cannot be subsituted by irresponsible democracies or responsible autocracies (though I'll take the latter over the former).

In 1988 Arafat "recognized" Israel, and the eventual result was 1600 murdered Israelis and many thousands injured and traumatized. Damn the miserable, incompetent, cynical leaders that the Israeli and American peoples are cursed with.

Hamas, like Hezbollah, does some charity work, schools, health and all that. It might not be as corrupt as Fatah or the PLO, but so what? I mean, can anyone fathom the Kadima party advocating the utter destruction of the Palestinian people and their cities taken over by Jew? I doubt it. That is what this is all about fellow posters. Think Hitler when you think Hamas. As far as Bush, the oil interests are dictating to him, Arab policy. But remember, he destroyed the Taliban and Saddam Hussein, feathers in his cap.

I must say that Bush has completely lost his mind. Even though I voted for him, I have to admit this sad fact. He absolutely does not understand (or want to admit) that Hamas is not driven by "pragmatism", nor are they bought off by money. They subscribe to a religious ideology of political Islamic terrorism. They would as soon give up killing Jews, as humans will marry apes. It is a religious commandment for them to continue the jihad until ALL the Jews are killed. And this is what Bush (and many others) are loathe to admit. Therefore, the US, Israel & of course Europe haven't a prayer to win this war because they refuse to identify the enemy. I suspect that Bush and many of his cronies (James Baker et al) would love to see Hamas spout the right words, just so that the money can continue to flow to them. The US will also reap the whirlwind of this (im)moral blindness, along with Israel.

Not only that, but the conditions are already weak. It is not Hamas, but the Palestinians who ELECTED Hamas who have indicated their will to contend with Israel. The palestinians clearly do not want peace with the Israelies.

We hear so much from the USA about what must be done about the squatters in Gaza and the West Bank. It is time for the children of Yisrael to seek its own counsel, deny these pretenders in the guise of settlers, and take back the lands given by Adonai. If the other Arabic nations consider the "Palestinians" with such concern, certainly they can make room for them in Arab nations. Yisrael belongs to its children, not to be given away in bits to beggars at the door in some imagined "roadmap" of "peace".
