Clearly this guy knows that he has to moderate his stance and he is smart with words - unlike Arafat, Yassin or Khaled. He is trying to start negotiating from a different position to where Arafat ended. He has already changed a major stance they had in their election policy saying that now they would recognize Israel under certain circumstances. He also realizes that feeding off Iran will not be good for his people and there will probably be a power stuggle between Haniyeh and Khaled who wants an Iran like country. The world must continue to apply pressure. Small carrots of humanitarian aid and big sticks when Hammas makes poor decisions. Hammas will have to moderate. Egypt, Jordan and Turkey did not apply pressure because they love Israel. They will fall to similar regimes if they show support for this type of monolithic party. This is their chance to save their countries from becoming Irans. That makes pressure from them more guaranteed. I actually think that there is hope. But it will take time.

What is coming from Hamas is Arafat turning down Barak/Clinton in favor of more war all over again.

As I always say, the world's worst threat is the increasing threat of extremism all over the world! We see that in the many countries in the Middle East where religious people get the upper hand in deciding the state affairs!
