Did I miss something? Some people wonder what would happen when an EL AL missle hits Tel Aviv. What missle? I read the article several times trying to find out more about these EL AL missles and the only thing I found mentioned in the article was EL AL flares to DIVERT enemy missles.....Amazing how many people read only what they want to read or hear only what they want to hear. And if it isn't there, just make it up.

A typical Strela or Stinger shoulder-held anti-aircraft missile is a few feet long and contains just a little over 2 pounds of explosives. A typical 747 carries up to 48,000 gallons of jet fuel and weighs about 367 tons, dry and unloaded. Which would you rather have land on your block?

I would much rather have a tiny, albeit high explosive, missile diverted into a neigborhood than have a fully loaded 767, hit by a missile, come crashing down!

During the webresearch for my thesis I stumbled over this article and to be honest I am really upset by the comment of DEBRA. Do you really think, that the decision of the Swiss authorities is based on not caring about jewish lives or even on endangering them on purpose? Are you crazy? The concern was and is, that said systems can cause a danger to civil aviation and until it is ensured that this is not the case, said systems are banned. Furthermore, there may also be other people on board, maybe even muslims, christians or hindus - just due to the fact that ElAl sells tickets to people of all confessions. So please step down from this wording, it only supports the real Nazis. Not every decission against a company or an organisation from Israel is against jews. - most of them are simply fact-based ones. Regards...
