We should have similar rules here in Israel. These rules should also apply to people who spread hate against gays.

Austria, currently a very popular scapegoat for various Jewish organisations, is in fact one of the best friends of Israel- with or without Freedom Party in government. Although I am happy about this article I am still critial of the view that Austrians in 1938 were 99% Nazis. The plebiscite for the Anschluss held in 1938 was neither secret nor democratic. To vote against the Anschluss was dangerous if not deadly- not only for the individual but also for the entire family. It is therefore ridiculous to write that there was overwhelming support for Nazi Germany among Austrians because of the results of the Nazi staged plebiscite. The Nazi Party never recived more than 7% at any democratic election in inter-War Austria. The fact that there were various Austrians in the Nazi machinery is also not an indication of great overall support. The same applies to the Sudeten Germans- the only case of ethnic group completely cleansed from their homeland that remain vilified as outcasts in their traditional homeland.

Whether the Austrians were overwhelmingly supporting Nazism or not is irrelevant now. The fact is the current law in Austira and a few other countries that makes denying the holocaust as has been told us a crime is a dastardly national act. Austrians old and young should be ashamded of themselves for supporting such draconian madness called "law".
