5. Teheran to aid Hamas
leah amdur ,   Jerusalem Israel   (02.28.06)
Kol ha kovod. Why has Hashem sent us this Shoah. Our enemies are showing us how we should behave. The Muslims are proud to be Muslims. The do not assimilate. The love their G-d Allah. They have many good milas which we Jews should have. Their women dress snuesly. They pray 5 times a day. If we lived as proud Jews and were prepared to die for Hashem and if we were as close to Hashem as they are to Allah we would have Moshiach tomorrow. I am going to get out the Iggeret Teiman from the Rambam and read it. Hamas you have a lot to teach us
6. It gets transfered via Arab Banks
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (02.28.06)
mainly then passing ONLY via Arab countries - very much Tunis, esp. like Syria. Hamas has accounts there since they live already off Arab financing. Like one country that has NO control and diverts funds is... Dubai. Dubai supports them and boycotts Israel ....... They always have and still do. The PA has also within the PA territories banks. How do you think they do their investments ? Palestinian Authority has approximately $600 million invested in 79 commercial ventures worldwide. Of course their Minister left but this was a fact then: A 345-page report prepared by Standard & Poor's and the Democracy Council for Palestinian Authority Finance Minister Salam Fayyad was recently released for public review (www.pa-inv-fund.com). The report attempts to account for the Palestinian Authority's assets in order to provide Fayyad with a base from which to create a new financial system. Fayyad (who is gone), a former International Monetary Fund official, is considered by Israel, Europe, and the U.S. to be a serious reformer intent on bringing fiscal accountability to the Palestinian Authority. The question is: Why is/was our tax money going to PA investments and NOT to the people's mouth The investments covered in the study are held by the Palestine Investment Fund (PIF), a "separate legal entity that aims to acquire/invest, and to sell/dispose of portfolio investments, liquid investments and temporary investments that promote economic growth and infrastructure development in Palestine." In short, the PIF is an organization intended to create a valuable revenue stream to fuel Palestinian economic progress. PA Investments Worth $600 Million ????????????? Western Intelligence Estimates of PLO Assets U.S. government estimated that a 5 percent tax charged to every Palestinian working in an Arab country had generated PLO assets ranging from $8 to $14 billion - revenues above and beyond international contributions. Hamas is not a country and Palestine is not a country. Where will Iran send the money to ? Israel will not forward it. And why the hostility ? I asked a simple question. Just say "I don't know" or nothing. No FLAMES

"We have lots of money" Yeah from oil, but that is the only thing you have and the world is working hard on living without oil, and than its back to the camels my friend. You have nothing on your name, no new medicine, no resurge against aids. ZERO! Maybe 1000 years ago Arabs were smart, but today they are full of hate and ignorance. But this is a small part of what Israel made. shut your pc because it's to jewish! http://www.bluestarpr.com/docs/www2.pdf

13. Hamas terror funding by Iran
Isac ,   Florida   (02.28.06)
It will be very unlikely that any larger sums will reach the West Bank or Gaza. It would have to be taken physically (in suitcases) to be distributed into those areas. Now try to bring 250 Million Dollars through Israeli checkpoints... In any case, whatever happens, Hamas will get broke very soon!

Very revealing, Mr. Dubai. So much for the denial of a clash of cultures (though I'm hesitant to call what you have a culture).
15. majed fuad , dubai : You are obviously one of those
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (02.28.06)
who in Dubai support Osama Bin Laden...... They are also that nasty little country, that boycotts any and all from Israel.... Why do you come to a Jewish site ? Because you have NO rights to free speech in your's Dubai - the country that was participating in 9/11 - that still launders money today for terrorism - the country that was jumping to accept The Taliban as a regime. UAE has an "uneven history" as "one of only a handful of countries in the world to recognize the Taliban regime in Afghanistan. Yeah - real good business indeed millions of dollars in al-Qaida funds went through UAE financial institutions. And still are. Since the banking system is not openly regulated. A special commission that investigated the terrorist attacks against the United States on Sept. 11, 2001 concluded that "there's a persistent counterterrorism problem represented by the United Arab Emirates." Palestine was never a country and you Arabs don't fool anyone any more on this subject. polling data from the UAE about its views of the United States. The results were shocking for so-called “friends.” Of the USA .... Here are a few key findings from a 2004 poll conducted by Zogby International: · 73% of UAE citizens had a negative view of the United States; only 14% had a favorable view. · Only 5% of UAE citizens felt that “democracy” was an “extremely important” reason for the U.S. invasion of Iraq. Preventing the spread of weapons of mass destruction was cited by 16%. · Asked to identify their “most admired” world leaders, 18% of UAE citizens chose Osama bin Laden. “No one” finished first with 22%. · When asked how they viewed themselves, only 19% said they identified first and foremost as citizens of the United Arab Emirates, while 66% said they saw themselves as “Muslims” first. Conclusion: The United Arab Emirates is not Europe or Western world in general - Its citizens share neither our values nor our interests. The UAE are sitting on a powder keg of radical Islamic fundamentalism, making it much more likely that via Dubai the Western Wold will be susceptible to infiltration. You are obviously one of those !!!!!!! Facts you of course enjoy and would love, since it suits your intentions. Well how do we know, that you are not one of those who support and train with the terrorists .......
16. Linda: Did you NOT know Islam tells their sad lot
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (02.28.06)
that laughing and joking isn't Islamic that's why cartoons get these Islamic maniacs to go into MAU MAU routine fire dance with murder and mayhem But in return their cartoons ain't menat for laughing .... since they mean every bit in stern faced stone intentions
17. Well they need money from SOMEWHERE..
Mike   (02.28.06)
Since the international community cut off money, wouldn't you look anywhere you can find it too? They need the money one way or another.
18. Hamas must not rely on Iran
nehad ismail ,   camberley   (02.28.06)
The article raises a number of issues. Hamas must not rely on Iran for survival. Iran might offer a quick bailout once or twice but it cannot finance Hamas indefinitely without something in return. There is no such thing as a free lunch. Iran would expect Hamas to comply with its policies in the region. In other words Hamas will be used as a card in Tehran's tussle with the International community over its nuclear programme. Exactly as Hizbulla is being used in Lebanon. It is therefore important that Hamas should be weaned away from Iran. It is not in the interest of the Palestinian people to be dependent on Iran and steps must be taken to ensure funding for the Palestinian Authroity comes from EU and/or through United Nations Agencies. Israel can play a positive role by starting a dialogue with Hamas as an alternative to the demonisation and villification of Hamas. nehad ismail camberley, england

$250 M / 2M people = $125 per person one time how much to u-hauls cost ?
20. Iran gives bananas....
DR ,   Florida, USA   (02.28.06)
Hamas will eat banana and slip on peel. This money will not be used to help the Palestinian people, only to fund terror and bring more suffering to them. Maybe they should all move to Dubai and live with Mr. Fuad, but I bet he wouldn't take them.
21. Mike: THEY got money read this below
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (02.28.06)
Western Intelligence Estimates of PLO Assets In 1990, the U.S. government estimated that a 5 percent tax charged to every Palestinian working in an Arab country had generated PLO assets ranging from $8 to $14 billion - revenues above and beyond international contributions. In 1993, just prior to the signing of the Oslo accord, the British National Criminal Intelligence Service reported that the PLO generated a considerable portion of its budget from "extortion, payoffs, illegal arms dealing, drug trafficking, money laundering, fraud, etc." Immediately after the signing of the Oslo agreement, the Palestinians received an additional $3 billion from the U.S. and the international donor community. A year later, a British intelligence report stated that Yasser Arafat controlled assets worth $10 billion and that the PLO had an annual budget of $2 billion. A 345-page report prepared by Standard & Poor's and the Democracy Council for Palestinian Authority Finance Minister Salam Fayyad (who has left now) was recently released for public review (www.pa-inv-fund.com). According to the report, the Palestinian Authority has approximately $600 million invested in 79 commercial ventures worldwide, a figure based on those investments identified by Palestinian Authority officials for inclusion in the study. The report looks at investments in ten privately- and/or publicly-held companies, six in the telecommunications sector and the balance in biotechnology, insurance, the gaming industry, and cement. The stated goal of the study was to assess the fair market value of the investments and the transparency of their transactions.
22. Umm Gabrielle I think you might have misunderstood.
Mike   (02.28.06)
Sorry if I was not specific enough, but I was referring solely to the Hamas government that just recently won the election. They're probably thinking: 'Iranian money or No money.... I'll go with Iranian' Your examples were excellent but referred to the PLO and pre-Hamas governments. They indeed received billions, much more than they were worthy of, and this was shown by their corruption and squandering the peoples' funds on villas and trips to Europe and fancy cars.

Haven't you any concern as to how the money will be used, Mike?
24. #18 - Nehad
Jane   (02.28.06)
Israel must start a dialogue with Hamas [or else]? Is that what you're saying? I would rather say that Hamas should abandon terrorism, accept the reality of Israel, and learn to compromise [or else].
25. EU HYPOCRITES LEGALIZE MURDER OF JEWS?
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (02.28.06)
Haj Amin, Jerusalem's Muslim religious leader, travelled to Europe and spent the war years helping Hitler murder Europe's Jews. Europeans deported Jews from European countries over 80 times. European ethnic Jew-cleansing addicts, along with the U.S. are leading the charge for present-day Jew deportation. http://www.ipc.gov.ps/ipc_new/english/details.asp?name=11588 GAZA, Palestine, November 6, 2005 (IPC + Agencies) - - The President of the European Union's Development Committee, Luisa Morgantini, declared that the EU has laid a plan with a budget of several millions of dollars to support several aspects of development in the Gaza Strip... She continued that occupied nations have the right to defend themselves using legitimate means of armed resistance in accordance with the Fourth Geneva Convention." 65 years ago, it was unacceptable for Jews to live in Europe. In our present day, the EU legitimizes the maiming and murder of Jews for living in their Jewish homeland. In 1948, Egypt invaded Gaza and ethnically cleansed ALL Jews. In 1948, Jordan invaded Judea, Samaria and east Jerusalem and ETHNICALLY CLEANSED ALL JEWS. In 1967 when Israel won Islam's religious war of aggression against it, Jews returned to the areas of their homeland they had been ethnically cleansed from for 19 years. Islamofascists and their powerful allies DECEITFULLY call this return "occupation". Under international law, territories are considered "occupied" only when taken in an act of aggression which does not apply to Israel. Judea, Samaria and Gaza are not 'occupied territories' according to international law because they were not taken from any foreign sovereign. There NEVER was an Arab country of Palestine. The hands of the EU are bloody.
26. Let 'em get their money from Iran
Russell ,   Miami   (02.28.06)
At least my tax dollars won't go to fund terrorists. It's not like American money had a moderating effect on the Palestinians anyway.
27. @nehad ismael
Linda   (02.28.06)
You sound like a Arab with brains, but would you talk to people who want to kill and destroy you? Hamas talks about hudna, you and me knowes what hudna is, it is giving a child a candy to shut up for a few hours, but peace is not hudna, and the Jews want more than hudna, we do not want cease-fire, that is what we asked for many years and did not work, why now?
28. Iran throws away money...good!
jf ,   nashville   (02.28.06)
I am glad that Iran is supporting the Palestinian Terrorists Gov. No doubt that most of this money will be used on funding terror instead of feeding the masses. The smart Palestinians will understand this and see it for what it is....a mistake. Israel needs to make a "Statement of Policy" that any act of Terror from the Hamas will be seen as an act of Terror from their "Masters" in Iran and will be responded to.
29. #28...very good idea.
DR ,   Florida, USA   (02.28.06)
I agree 100%. We need to hold the sponsors of terror responsible for the acts as well as the perpetrators. Iran will only lose international credibilty by funding a terro group like Hamas.
30. Mike : You miss a point HAMAS now government
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (02.28.06)
