Dear Jane, Yes Israel should have a dialogue with Hamas. I believe Hamas won the election because Israel refused to talk with Arafat and the moderate secular Abbas. Of course Hamas must renounce violence as a strategy and adopt the political path. But Israel, being the stronger party, must take the initiative. nehad

Thanks Linda for your comment. I will give you the benefit of the doubt and take it as a compliment. Hudna is a temporary ceasefire. In the absence of a permanent agreement both sides may agree to it. I personally prefer an eternal peace agreement and Hamas must accept that violence is not the solution.But Israel must also declare its intention to enter into serious negotiations with Hamas.
