1. Shakur is a dear man, always working to ease tensions
Jew ,   Jerusalem   (03.04.06)
And bring closer Israelis of all religions, hashem will protect you.
2. Do you know what's more emberassing?
(03.04.06)
A crowd of christians trying to lynch 2 women and a man because they threw some firecrackers.
3. Well this could be catogrized as Palestinian terrorism
Anti-Demagog.   (03.04.06)
As the three wirdos, a Jew and two Christians possess Palestinian citizenship, while the residents of Nazarath possess Israeli citizenship.
4. whose embarrassment?
Joan ,   Haifa   (03.04.06)
I think the embarrasment that's come out of this incident is the Church's. After all, it was Christians, granted probably egged on by Muslims, in the courtyard who were acting like Muslims andchanting "Death to the Jews!"
5. jews's real face
fuad ,   libya   (03.04.06)
this is your reality why do u deny it ? astonishing
6. Occupation cancer is spreading inside Israel
the Guy from Nablus ,   Nablus   (03.04.06)
What a way to let the whole world know about the deformed Israeli racist-Aphartied state. I wonder why the majority of Israelis are allowing this to happen to their nation?! Revert back and join the civilized world. End occupation and start rebuilding your nation. Love… peace and coexistence.
7. Embarassing to the Habibi Family
Gabriel ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (03.04.06)
How could an act of a family represent an embarassment to the population of an entire country? How could I and my family be blamed for this? Was it as painfull as the arab atacks to Israel? The injured? Who where they at the end? Who perpetrated the violence and yelled for the jewish dead? It is a real shame to the catholic church to see how his believers took hate as his main weapon yesterday in Nazareth instead of love.
8. Embarrasing for who?
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (03.04.06)
Once again the Arabs of both Christian and Moslem faiths resorted to violence in Nazareth last night. May I ask His Excellency Archbishop Elias Chacour if he has ever seen Jews riot, burn and destroy property when a synagogue or cemetery has been desecrated, a not uncommon occurrence in today’s world? The only people who should be "embarrassed" are the Arabs of Nazareth who attacked policemen, injuring 13, burnt a police car and destroyed an ambulance. All this was seen live on TV. This was because a Jew, who is alleged to have certain problems, his Christian wife and daughter decided to take revenge on the State. The irony is that Moslems took this opportunity to add fuel to the fire when no so long ago a Christian – Moslem War nearly broke out in Nazareth over the building of a new mosque. Hatred of Israel, even by its own citizens, makes strange bedfellows!
9. "a crowd of Muslim...."
Linda   (03.04.06)
I knew it!! They are like flies, where there is sh*t they sit! And guy from nablus, this had nothing to do with occupation or the Pals.Keep on dreaming that the Christian world will be on your side.
10. Shame on the Muslims!
(03.04.06)
The Muslims, who hate the Christians just as much as they hate the Jews are now giving them a bear hug, remember Betlehem? Muslim terrorists vandelizing the church and taking the priests as hostages, the Christians in Betlehem used to be a 80% majority, now there are 78 mosques in Betlehem, all near the birth church and turning the speaker the loudest, the Muslims rape and kidnap Chirstian girls and in every mixed village there are less and less Christians, even in Nazarath there are 40% Muslims, and the Christian majority is falling beneath the militant minority, it appears that they want to repeat Lebanon's success everywhere, high birth rate and rape of Christian women, terrorizing the Christians into Islam. Yet now, when 3 looneys (Who are Palestinian citizens and 2 of them are Christians themselves) throw firecrackers in a church they suddenly stand beside their "Christian brothers" against the "Common enemy" and incite them to violence making a mountian from a mouse.
11. Christians don't fall for these muslims...
(03.04.06)
just few months ago they wanted to build a mosque right infront of this church and Israel prevented it. They speak like they are you friends now but in reality they kick the christans out of their holy cities (Jerusalem, Beit-Lehem, Nazerath) and humilate them. The muslims will do anything to spread some more of their hatered towards Jews.
12. As a Christian evangelist I say...
Enosho   (03.04.06)
* The embaracing is while Nazareth residents chanting “death to Jews”; * The embaracing is to call yourself a Christian, and doing the work of evilness. * The embaracing is to HATE all Jewish people. And now suddenly you have an excuse to show that for what 2 christians and 1 "Jewish" have done. Were is the forgivness? have your churchs stoped to preach the Bible? Mat 5:43 You have heard that it was said, "You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy." Mat 5:44 But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who despitefully use you and persecute you, NOT because Jewish people are our enemies! I beg my Christian Catholic and Orthodox brethren to start to read the Bible in their own. God bless you all!
13. Bloodshed from whom ?
Marcel ,   Florida   (03.04.06)
It's forgotten what the moslem terrorists did during their seige of the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem ? How they brought their weapons into the church and used it as their base of attack to shoot at the IDF . Has the archbishop forgotten how embarrasing this was to the mollems & christian arabs ? It's easy to see how they use any incident as reason to go after the Jews. These hypocrites don't have the guts to go after the moslem terrorists ,the Jews are a much easier target.
14. How would you react
Hiram ,   Tel Aviv   (03.04.06)
If similar incidents took place at the Kotel ? Of in the Patriarch's cave ? Of in a Synagogue in Zfat ? I agree that these folks were " Unbalanced " to say the least ( one has to be to decide to settly-even for a few days- in the territories) but nevertheless...This reminds me of the idiot couple who threw pig's head in the Jaffa Mosque ( although that time it was based on hatred of the Moslems )...Be smart ....D ont let your fingers fart faster than your brain !
15. Sorry
yoel ,   Switzerland   (03.04.06)
But this incident has to be taken for the real importance it is supposed to represent. It wasn't reported by any french or swiss, but only israeli and US media. This incident comes from any organization, and has nothing to deal with jewish extremists, nor from far right or whoever. It was perpetrated by isolated people. Israel has nothing to do with palestinian territories, and had Nazareth been placed to the other side of the fence, this "incident" would have nerver happened. No apology from me, I don't feel any common values with those people who went into the church, and two third of them were christians....
16. LOL - most of the above
Mike   (03.04.06)
OK, you're joking, right? Tell me you're joking. You are actually trying to defend this act??? Actually, some of you are even denying it!! Wow, this is hillarious. A Jew led the group to throw firecrackers in a Church on a Holy day - now, I don't know about you guys, but THAT WAS WRONG!! And it's no conspiracy by Muslims, it was done by a JEW. Listen, you people may sound fine to each other, but to rational, logical, readers, you sound like a bad joke, and I honestly coulnd't tell if you were serious until i realised how many of these posts are here. Stop denying it, your job now is to denounce it, unless of course you approve of it. But listen and try to get this through your thick skulls - A JEW THREW A FIRECRACKER IN A CHURCH FILLED WITH WORSHIPPERS. That's it. No if's, not but's. That's what happened. The Jew was in the wrong, admit that!
17. #10 - Let me get this straight!
Nabil ,   Bethlehem   (03.04.06)
First off, I was in Bethelehem the time of the Church of the Nativity seige and your words are INACCURATE! I don't know which 'news' station you heard that from, but there was minimal vandalism that was not done intentionally and the Muslims in the Church were being safeguarded by Christians and they were respectful! Secondly, you claim that Muslims hate Christians as much as they hate Jews (As a Christian, I have never ever seen this). I and my family are regularly invited to Muslim weddings and parties, as they Muslims are always invited to ours, stop distorting information. Maybe it's different between Muslims and Christians where you live, but not in Palestine/Israel, we are friends here. AND you go on to blame Muslims for 'giving us a bearhug' after 'hating' us so much. SO are you saying that they should hate us forever if they hated us before??? Let's assume you're right and they do hate us (which they don't), then why should this hate continue?? Why is it bad then for this 'bear hug' as you call it?? Shouldn't any step to end this 'hatred' be welcomed?? Clearly you want them to continue to hate us, otherwise you would have been happy to see the hugs, right? Shame on Muslims? No, Shame on You!
18. # 14 : how we would react
yoel ,   Switzerland   (03.04.06)
You shoul know how jews would react. Joseph's grave was set into fire, and replaced by a mosque during the second intifada, and our holly Torah and many sacred books were burnt. We just protested. We also got stones thrown at people praying in front of the Western Wall, we just evacuated... Ilan Halimi was assassinated in Paris's suburbs, we just protested peacefully and with dignity. Do you need more examples? We are also insulted every day in arab media, and caricatured. Any arab embassy was never burnt by israelis... We just fight terrorism every day, and Israel is doing it with a lot of restraint.

Jane   (03.04.06)
What's astonishing is your inability to understand what happened. A Christian convert from Judaism, his Christian wife and their Christian child do something stupid and you blame the Jews. This reveals YOUR true face.
20. Fuad
Jane   (03.04.06)
Speaking of joining the civilized world, why did you elect Hamas?
21. #17
Jane   (03.04.06)
In Muslim eyes, you are as much an infidel as are the Jews. That is what you need to get straight. You turn a blind eye in hopes of appeasing the Muslim Palestinians when, in fact, they use you to try and present a unified front. In fact, they hate you no less than they hate us. If you want to continue to be a tool of Muslim propaganda, you're welcome to. But now that Hamas is in power, you dhimmi status will become increasingly apparent. Sorry for your blindness, Nabil. Sorry for the reality that has always been there and is about to slap you in the face.
22. Chacour's pretext
Allan ,   US   (03.04.06)
"I hope now we can work to teach youth in the State of Israel tolerance and mutual respect,” the Archbishop added." The incident was seized upon by Chacour as a pretext to bash Israel. Pure an dsimple.
23. How I see it....
jf ,   nashville   (03.04.06)
"“I am not interested in these miserable people who carried out this miserable act. " - Archbishop Elias Chacour Not being interested or concerned about "ill & disturbed" people is not very christian. You call yourself a Priest? This is a case where a "former" jew having converted was hanging around muslim's and xtians before he and his family went berserk. Well, that's what happens when you hang around cults.
24. #Nabil
Linda   (03.04.06)
Good for you that you have Muslim friends, you have Jewish friends too? I feel a sense of hate against Jews from your post, but when did Jews kill Christians and when did Muslims did this? In all Arab countries Christians have a harder time and not the rights Muslims have and you know it. In Indonesia Christian girl have been raped and killed by Muslims only for there believe in Jesus. What did your Muslims friends say about that?. Maybe you have been in Bethlehem, but I saw it on tv and I saw a car burning and people trying to get into the church, not to pray I think People got hurt and not because they have been so peaceful yesterday night. I grew up with Christians, and I have never seen them harming other people or trying to lynch anybody. Muslims called me DOG in the street when they saw my Star of David. We also have Muslims at our weddings and I have Muslim friends, but they tell me what is real Islam and that killing and rape is not ok. We We try and work together towards peace for ALL, not pointing the finger at each other. And what did you think about the fact that a Christian woman (2) did what they did yesterday? We all make mistakes, but some a bit more than others
25. Church leader needs to remember the facts better
Adina kutnicki ,   US   (03.04.06)
Livni, Olmert & Ezra are wetting their pants they are in such a hurry to grovel before the Arabs for the actions of a man who happens to be Jewish and has a Christian wife and children. It doesn't matter to these deluded officials that the man's motives were due to his failure to provide for his family with the collusion of his wife and child. No matter. Blame the right and all is well in la la land. As for the Greek leader. Well, surely he needs no excuse to blame anyone but the right. His Arab constituency are well known for their restraint and model behavior. All is forgotten after the burnings of Churches by Muslim hordes in Bethlehem, Ramallah etc. Also the Church of Nativity desecration is nothing but a distant memory. Blaming the rightwing for the crimes of a Jewish man (who has NO association with anything Jewish in Israel )is a far better and politically convenient ploy for both the Arabs and their deluded Jewish far left counterparts.
26. Reasonable Response to a Threat
Richard Snouffer, MD ,   Alabama, USA   (03.04.06)
To ALL those blaming the Church or those present when the church was attacked: HOW is the attack the fault of the Catholics attacked? Think about it for a minute. You are in Isreal--no small amount of background tension in a country regularly torn by (usually arab)violence--and are in a crowded church. Suddenly you hear what sounds like automatic small arms fire--and you are telling me that you wouldn't get excited? A "Threat-response" reaction cannot be avoided (without the Grace of G-d) in a situation like this! You are telling me that if you are in a crowded public place, and something sounding like automatic small-arms fire goes off that you're going to respond to the attacker "with love?!!?!?!?" That you would fault ANYONE for having a threat-response reaction to a situation like this tells me far, far more about YOUR lack of love.
27. Funny Arabs! They screamed "Death to Jews"
John ,   USA   (03.04.06)
Than they found out that the perpetrator was a Christian. Sick creatures!
28. Jane
Nabil ,   Bethlehem   (03.04.06)
Jane, I'm sorry but I think you're mistaken. My parents' whole lives they were as close of friends with Muslims as they were with Christians, and even up until my father's death several years back, so how come the reality never 'slapped him in the face' as you put it? I think you are too into the 'conspiracy' thing. I'm into my late 30's and my mother is old, how come up until now we have not seen any disrespect from any Muslim families? They must be REALLY good at covering it up, huh? Jews, on the other hand, whom you claim love us and see us as their own, are occupying our land, making us go through checkpoints, fly fighter airplanes over our homes and shoot in our streets. Now, it looks to me that you have the situation backwards! Like I said earlier, however, I am not aware of the Muslim-Christian relationships elsewhere in the world because I have lived in Bethelehem my entire life, with a breif study period abroad. But here in Palestine/Israel, our relationship is excellent and for some reason you find this impossible. No Christians here see what you say and it is proven by the fact that a religious Christian man, whom I know personally, chose to run on Hamas' electoral ballot rahter than any other Party. Now, do you think he would run for a Party that views his own people as "dhimmis"? Think Again.
29. Nabil, Bethlehem
Jane   (03.04.06)
BW. There is no love btw. you and your Muslim brothers. You just simply are very afraid of them. Period.
30. to the christians
stephane ,   france   (03.04.06)
i saw today pictures of arab christians chanting in nazareth anti israeli and antisemit slogans with the muslims...shame on you christians!muslims are all the time attacking you, killing you, insulting you, burning churches,etc...and you! what you do? you lick their ass....shame on you. you lick their ass because you hope they will forgive you for the cartoons, but they wont, and soon, they will make terror attack somewhere against christians.christians, don't forget where you came from...you came from jesus who was a rabbi.
