61. British Royal Family, scions of King David
David Ben-Ariel ,   Toledo, USA/Menashe   (03.08.06)
At least Prince Philip is an honest man about this, who didn't have to reveal it, but who is secure that he is not anti-Semitic. Jews have "inhibitions" about other Jews, and various Jews are jealous of other Jews. Regardless, the British Royal Family is ethnically Jewish and the continuation of King David's dynasty. If anybody isn't familiar with family feuds among the Royal House of David, between Israel and Judah, etc. may they just open up the Bible and read it and see for themselves there's nothing new under the sun. tentribes.blogspot.com
62. Jews didn't like Jews either
David Ben-Ariel ,   Toledo, USA/Menashe   (03.08.06)
Rabbi Kahane used to speak against those who focused on what non-Jews failed to do to save Jews during the Holocaust, and rightly focused on the inexcusable INACTIONS of too many Jews to save Jews, but it's easier to blame others, right?
63. So this is why they never bombed death camps.
Ruth Rasnic ,   Israel   (03.10.06)
The trains did, indeed run on time. So much for monarchy and interbreeding. And I always thought that Prince Edward was banned from England because of his German connections and friends!
64. I understand
A friend ,   Canada   (03.11.06)
I understand both sides. I am sure at the time all this started the German people thought that Hitler was right but as things went on they found out it was not. I have friends both Jewish and non Jewish, (I am non Jewish) and I can understand how they feel but let's not forget, the war is over and has been for a long time and how many more times do people have to apologize. PLEASE LET US ALL GET ALONG AND HAVE PEACE. I am sure the Prince feels the same and do we want him to not stay in touch with his relatives, His grandson Harry did the wrong thing, and I am sure he is sorry for what he did, he was young and not thinking at the time, alcohol and drugs will do funny things to young people.
65. Churchill's instruction to bomb Auschwitz
Bruce A. Lorence ,   Albany, N.Y. - U.S.A   (03.14.06)
Actually, according to a document discovered some fifteen years ago in the British Record Office, Churchill ordered his generals to bomb the railines to Auschwitz but they deliberately ignored his instructions!
66. Prince Phillip
Harold Tobin ,   Barnet UK   (03.15.06)
I can assure Prince Phillip no one is jealous of his family. However he is just mirroring how most of the world feel about us. We are so patriotic in the UK we say a prayer every Shabbat and festivals for Hahem to protect the Royal Family. No other religion including the Church of England do this in their services. Even if no one is bothered about a Royal visit to Israel remember they have visited Arab countries. Is our patroisim misguided?
67. To Herald
Efi ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (03.15.06)
Yes, in this case your patriotism is misguided, you are praying for a group of idiotic people who live in a big palace who don't like Jews, or anyone else for that matter! You should move to Israel and become patriotic for a country of your own people!
68. Eli 67
(03.16.06)
Thank you for your answer. Please belive me I`m just as patriotic for Israel as my country of birth. I`m afraid as regard living in Israel I`m 72 and in poor health. Better a drain on the British Health Service than Israel. My wife and I try to visit as often as possible in fact we shall be with you end of May begining of June.
69. In response to Mr. Tobin
Ruth Rasnic ,   Herzliya, Israel   (03.18.06)
Dear Harold Tobin, The mis-spelling "Freudian slip?" of a prayer to Hahem instead of Hashem is really interesting. My father made the choice and came from Britain to what was then Palestine in 1930. My husband did the same in 1948. Hope to catch up with you during your next trip to Israel.
70. Response to a friend
Ruth Rasnic ,   Herzliya, Israel   (03.18.06)
Israel is at peace with Germany and in fact we have many twin city contacts with youth and cultural interchanges. This does not mean we have forgotten. We are a nation with a historic memory - probably the reason we have survived for so long. Can you think of any other people or creed who annually on the eve of Passover start prayers by stating: YOU WERE SLAVES IN THE LAND OF EGYPT. What is the message: Remember where you came from and what you must not do unto others. At the time of the 2nd World War the prince was not the representative of the British Royal Family. However, it does make one stop and think about antisemitism and the British upper classes - then and now.
