2. No wonder
Joe ,   Israel   (03.26.06)
No wonder Kadima does't provide details about Disengagement #2. article with a calculator should be sent to every incoming Knesset member. All talk and promises of increases in aid to education, the fight against poverty, expanding health packages, increasing the minimum wage are totally meaningless.
3. Kadima= Hanigbe and Olmert. Bar-on etc..
Ben ,   Berval   (03.26.06)
Dont vote Kadima.
4. Simple economics: Vote Likud
Allan ,   Israel   (03.26.06)
1. Leave the settlers in place. Settlers serve in army and protect themselves, 2. Spend the money on social causes.
5. We will pay in return for Al-Quds
Sheikh Adnan of SA ,   Saudia Arabia   (03.26.06)
I have a great proposal for Kadima, with the price of a oil at $ 60/barrel, we in SA will pay every cent in exchange for Al-Quds (Jerusalem). It will be a great deal for israel and I am Sure both us and Mr Omri Sharon can agree quickly on the price. I will be waiting by phone after the election for the first Kadima leader who wants to take this up.
6. It's an existential price $tupid
Ben Temalion ,   Shiloh, MO USA   (03.26.06)
What type of sterotype are you operating out of? Messianic Oslo delusion of land for peace by piece by piece. Anti-Jew Israeli's are endangered by the pogroms against those who love the land and the loss of the land that you unbound heart of arelim support suicidally. By embolening the homicidal Hamitesyou not only destroy Jewish lives you endanger your own Jew hating life who cares nothing for the Jews left with wounds worse than death or died and left their blood on that land that blooms because of theJews you hate with extreme prjudice. And you are worried about money you Jew hater who cares nothing about the historty of Jews in arab lands or arabs slithering out of their homicidal homeland to spread their unique form of love in their extra peninsular pan-arabist style of hatred for anyone else living anywhere..

You know where you can put your oil? In Mecca and I give you for free a light!
8. You Won't Have To Pay Because We're Not Leaving
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (03.26.06)
Nor will you have to face Qassams in Netanya or airplanes at Ben Gurion getting shot out of the skies by anti-aircraft missiles. Arab racism and violence will not succede any more. Isn't that wonderful?
9. kol hakavod for the article, yet...
Anthony ,   London   (03.26.06)
Unilateral disengagement is important but Sever Plocker is doing a service to Israeli politics by being honest and open about the cost of "consolidation." Churchill said to his people "I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat." He was elected as people knew it was the only option and respected his candor and conviction. There is no alternative today either. A two-state solution is the only option in the long run and the longer we leave it before disengaging, the greater the costs will eventually be. As the rabbis said: If not now, when?
10. To the oil sheikh:
Anthony ,   London   (03.26.06)
Maybe if you spent a bit more of your obscene amounts of oil wealth on the people of your country rather than buying mansions abroad for your fifteen wives and sponsoring terrorism in Israel, maybe ordinary Saudis wouldn't be the impoverished, hungry and backward lot that they are.
11. Sever Plocker is Correct.
Johnny Weintraub ,   Sugar Land, Texas US   (03.26.06)
The American taxpayer, including the Jewish ones, is not going to pay out American money to move Jews from Point A to Point B in Israel. What a total waste of money, and for what?
12. Cost of disengagement
Michael ,   Madison,USA   (03.26.06)
If you think you will get aid from Jews abroad for this enterprise you are smoking a banned substance. Most Jews abroad do not agree with it and will not support Israel
13. Let kadima pay
jason white ,   afula,israel   (03.26.06)
Let the kadima gang pay for this along wirh all the "peace" groups. Let the peres center pay and all the left-wing kibbutzim. You want it,you pay for it! They could use their ill-gooten loot for this. I would rather pay to expell the arabs from our land.

What the hell is an oil sheik? A lubricated condom?
15. As usual, Plocker has it 100% WRONG.
Adam Adamati ,   Israel   (03.26.06)
>>And who will worry about employing thousands of evacuees from Judea and Samaria? Many of them have jobs within the green line, operate legal and illegal businesses from the territories, are on the dole, have trust funds or are otherwise ‘employed’. >>Where will they find jobs? In their countries of origin… like Americans say, “Love it or leave it.” >> …problems such as underestimations, bottlenecks in carrying out the program, the fact that there is no national consensus for such a move, and other problems. Here is your national consensus, in your own words: >> Olmert says his [soon to be elected] government will unilaterally set Israel's final borders. >> They [Americans] haven't even agreed to finance one single kilometer of the West Bank separation fence. And why should they? >> Foreign investors will only fund those national projects that will yield a positive economic benefit. But even if we assume that world Jewry would dig deep into their pockets to finance the second disengagement, even in the absence of a clear national consensus in Israel. Here is your national consensus, in your own words: >> Olmert says his [soon to be elected] government will unilaterally set Israel's final borders. >> We will have to pay. In order to finance the second disengagement out of our own pockets, each family in Israel will be forced to pony up NIS 70,000, or USD 15,000, over the course of three-to-four years. Just like we have to pay for Labor strikes and sanctions; just like we pay for the whims of greedy religious and socialist leaders, who squeeze every agora from the leading party. >>Nobody knows how much the Israeli public has invested to this point in building settlements. Because Israelis were too apathetic or lazy to demand more from earlier governments.
16. Put it on Israel's tab
Carol ,   Washington USA   (03.27.06)
It is not the rest of the world's responsibility to pay for Israel's unraveling illegal colonialism. It is the responsibility of those Israeli citizens who settled on land that did not belong to them. It's the responsibility of Israelis who elected and supported Israel's rogue political leaders all these years.
17. Who will pay?
Wolfram ,   USA   (03.27.06)
The US taxpayers will pay for the withdrawal just as they paid for the occupation. I am all for international charity, but I'd rather see the billions spent on impoverished Israelis in Israel than on villas for land-grabbing colonists in Palestine. One day, hopefully, Israel will have a self-sustaining economy and will not have to depend on handouts from 200 million goys in America.
18. Charity begins at home
Carol ,   Washington USA   (03.27.06)
Seems to me are our first priority should be helping our own citizens who lost everything in the hurricane.
