1. Get out of Israel!!!!
Linda   (03.27.06)
What the h*** are they here for? Go and pray for your soul if you have one left!
2. Re; 1
Michael ,   Israel   (03.27.06)
Linda, why should you be so blind, just because the education system chooses to closes certain "untasty" chapters in Israel history ,it doesn't mean they didn't happen!!!!!!!!! The Harav Berland is correct !!! our votes can change the future, because we MUST learn fron the past mistakes here!! Eretz Yisrael & Am Yisrael & Torat Yisrael are all essential requirements for our Zcoot to live here!! It is our "democratic" right or even our "freedom of speech " or "the right to know" all the truths........not just what the secular zionist want you to know!!! If it is too tough for you to absorb or understand , go and check out the truth and educate yourself and others!!!
3. Sew up the hole in their bedsheets, no kids to crazies.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Santa Monica, CA   (03.27.06)
4. Get Out? Why ? to Linda #1
Barry ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (03.27.06)
Sorry Linda. These folks were here long before the Zionists came to Israel. Some of these families have been living in this land for 300 years. Get out? Heck, they have a lot more legitimacy in Israel than most new olim.
5. It was all the way around..........
Uzi ,   Beit Shemesh   (03.27.06)
The True of the story was that there were several Chasidic Rabbis that forbade religious Jews to escape to Eretz Yisrael before and during the Shoah according to my father-in law who thank G-d escape to Israel, he comes from a very religious family (Belz & Satmar) and he still to this day very Religious (may G-d bless him with long life) Also, Rabbi Teichal wrote in his book “Eim banim smechah” about the controversy of many Rabbis opposing the travel of religious Jews from coming to Israel. The opposition of these rabbis resulted in the unfortunally loss of many religious Jews by the hands of the Nazis just because they were against the secular Zionist movement. Every Rabbi in authority that opposes the reality of the state of Israel is opposing the Torah and the Neviim. And like HaShem says in the Tanach “ My thoughts are not their thoughts or My ways their ways”
6. Linda
Yisraeli   (03.27.06)
its a bit more involved then what you think. only one who knows all the intracasy's of whats involved will understand those points. alas there is plenty truth in them. its a dark chapter in our history. it involves Baum from Hungary trying to save hungarian jewery and the yemenite children episode is well known of. A matter that the late Ofra Haza was most interested in and some claim she was murdered for it covered up as aids. also with a fatal connection with shimon peres. Trust me there is much many dont know about, alot of it even too sickening to tell. Not that I support the leaflet or its action, but I do know what theyre on about. hopefully Ynet wont deem this to be censored.
7. excommunicate them back to Brooklyn
alan ,   frisco   (03.27.06)
These yidin are over the topin. Perhaps Putin could teach them kra magav work outs with Jane Fonda. They like to associate with traitors. Or maybe they could take up residence in Ramallah. That's who finances them
8. now that article is the biggest bullshit i've ever heard

9. The real truth!!
Daniel ,   Jerusalem   (03.27.06)
First of all their are many truths to their statements. For those of you who are new to some of the early hatred and oppression of orthodox Jews, I invite you to do a little research. There claims are all true and can be backed up by facts! Hertzel and many of the early Zionist believed that the Holocaust came upon us because we refused to assimilate, and they were willing to do whatever they needed to make that happen. Hertzel himself even offered a mass conversion in a letter he wrote to the Pope. On the other hand I am in favor of voting for it is the only way that we can make a change.
10. historical truth
sameer ,   jerusalem   (03.27.06)
the facts connot be hidden forever this is correct, sionizm as racist movement behaved against jews and arabs just to establish a strange state on the land of palestine, a state which has no identity nither jewish nor secular or democratic, its price costed millions of humanbeings
11. Get facts straight #9
Jason ,   London, UK   (03.27.06)
How could Herzl have believed the Holocaust was caused by a failure to assimilate if it took place 30 years after he died. Stop talking s**t. Moreover, learn your history, Herzl's initial offer of mass converson was quickly withdrawn, he was so desperate to get Jews out of Europe he accepted the Uganda Plan in 1903. Zionists went to fight the Nazis, whilst the Palestinian and Arab leaders urged Hitler to extend the Final Solution to the Middle East. This is not to say that the ultra-Orthodox have an absolute debt to Zionism, they have been dealt a very raw deal on severla issues through history. But to use the massacre of 6million of our own people 60 years ago to promote a modern political view point is narrow minded and shameful. To those who have no relations with religous people. do not belive this is what orthodox people are like. I am ashamed by these people, but I am also ashamed by those secular Jews who supprt the Palestinian calls to delegitimise the Jewish State. Tomorrow Israel votes... another chance to show the world how to be a democracy even in the face of adversity, good luck, go vote.

13. BG fough against nazi sanctions while Jabo supported them
Ben Temalion ,   Shiloh, MO USA   (03.27.06)
It depends which "Zionists" you are speaking of. This is a fundamental difference between BG' s "jewish" agency that paid ransom to only get the good Jews out, didn't inform the others and Jabotinsky who fought for the sanctions ad to overcome the british blockade against the Shoah refugees. Read Ben Hecht's "Perfidy" to put today's divide in perspective. The appeasers of today's left are like the appeasers of nazi's and brits of the left in the past. Nationalistfought against the nazis and the brits to save all the lives.
14. #9 - the real truth....
nili   (03.27.06)
Herzel - Holocaust?
15. Aiding the Nazis
Professor G Alderman ,   London, England   (03.27.06)
Does the pamphlet to which Ilan Marciano refers explain why ultra-orthodox rabbis such as Yechiel Weinberg of Berlin and Eli Munk of Anspach welcomed the flowering of Nazism in Germany in the early 1930s?
16. They prefer vengeance to constructive participation
howard ,   pacific coast, usa   (03.27.06)
Regardless, the actions of those people have nothing to do with the importance of democratic elections or the vital nature of the state of Israel. The Nazis are no longer in power in Germany, and Jews have many German friends. Similarly, Jews who were duped or who failed to help decades ago are no longer a factor in Israeli politics. The idea that one would vote or not vote today based on the actions of Nazis or of blind zealots 50 years ago is STUPID.
17. Re: #14,#11
Daniel ,   Jerusalem   (03.27.06)
Hertzel believed that all previous anti-Semitism and pogroms, and what would eventually lead to the Holocaust was due to a lack of anti-Semitism. He also did not even circumcise his own son because of this. Before you preach about history Jason from London, you need to brush up on yours. If you had, you wouldn't still be in London. The Zionist could have saved many more from the gas chambers, but were not interested in filling their "new land of assimilation" with a bunch of "bearded Rabies". I lived 20 years in America, but I have only experienced what it means to be looked down upon for being a Jew, here in Israel by the secular left. You bet I'm voting tomorrow.
18. Give me names
Dan   (03.27.06)
Not one of you people supporting these pamphlets have given a shred of evidence to back them up. Give me names. Daniel from Jerusalem (#9) is obviously an idiot giving Hertzl as an example, as he died in 1904, well before the Holocaust began. Get your facts straight, especially before you make outrageous statements like you have made. Sameer (#10), obviously has no idea what 'Zionism' or 'democracy' is. Maybe he should go live in the PA controlled areas, and he can see what a democratic country really is (sarcasm).
19. The joke is on the writers of these HEBREW booklets!
bob ,   potomac md   (03.27.06)
an irionic fact is that these anti-Zionist booklets are written not in Yiddish but in the Zionist language: Modern Hebrew.
20. Dan in Jerusalem
Jason ,   London, UK   (03.27.06)
Well Dan, we agree, I should not still be in London but I assure you my work here is for Israel, and I am en route to live in Israel in less than a year. I think we need to clarify what we mean by Zionists and indeed by religous. Rabbis Alkalai and Kalsicher would have today lived in Bnei Barak or Meah Shearim, but are as important and foresightful in their Zionism as Herzl or Hess. Maybe Zionists don't do enough to include the religous movements in their work, but they didn't help the Nazis... come on, be real.
21. RUBBISH!!!
gm ,   south africa   (03.27.06)
#9 You wrote the biggest load of crap i have ever heard. #10 you are grabbing at straws, thinking that one lunatic holds the truth, while the majority of Jews are wrong. you are wrong. What's even more ridiculous, is that these haredim are passing out pamphlets against their fellow Jews, claiming that zionists aided the nazis, but they are also the same people who give ahmadinejad the time of day. They are the ones aiding the nazis. They are sick radicals who do not behave as Jews to go against their people in this manner.

Spot on , that is exactly what they are, rabies. A bunch os rabid rabbis. Mistake obviously unintentional but as I said, spot on.
24. Who cut off the Peyot of the Yemenite Jews?
Jew ,   Jerusalem   (03.27.06)
How come that so may Sefardi Jews within one generation are not religious anymore? Ben-Gurion created the New Israeli deprived of Torah tradition. The word Israeli was abused by the Zionists as it is not identical with the word Jew anymore.
25. I agree with you Michael,#2

27. Ultra-Orthodox Goiim: Satmer for Jesus
Daniel ,   Amsterdam   (03.27.06)
Wanna know how Christian those Ultra-Orthodox 'Jews' are? Take a look here, an Interview in the Guardian with Neturei Karta Rabbi Israel Domb: http://observer.guardian.co.uk/magazine/story/0,11913,758997,00.html "Neturei Karta is not an idea, it's not a new trend, it's not a party with a programme,'...At its theological heart lies the belief that the Jews have been exiled for their sins and are destined to suffer," "An earthly solution for the Jewish people is not possible, because we are not destined for any earthly happiness. The Jewish people should come to their senses and see that the Zionist state is one big misfortune,' says Domb". "Jews...destined to suffer." "No earthly solution for Jews because Jews are not destined for Earthly happiness" Ah now we know why they oppose the Jewish state. It causes too much happiness. The funning thing is that these are essentially Christian views. The Christians motivated their persecution of the Jews with the believe that Jews were destined to suffer, destined no roam the earth without a homeland. As all victims who suffer for a longer period of time, Neturei Karta has internalised and accepted the arguments of the persecuter. It's a very normal response; many people who are persecuted eventually come to the believe that they themselves are to blame for their suffering. Neturei Karta has accepted Christian Theological thought as why Jews must suffer. Thus they have ceased to be Jews and joined the ranks of our persecuters. They fullfill the role of the 'converted' Jews who were used by the Christians during the darker days of the Galut to tell us how evil we are. They have crossed the line to the other side. Shame on them.
28. I just can not understand...
keren ,   sao paulo   (03.27.06)
why the ultra ortodox think that "this 'solution,' that is good for the gentiles, is not at all right for the people of Israel." Why? I would like to understand. Maybe it is because this "solution"would force them to some changes they are not willing to do?Would "force" them to come to the 21 century? Maybe they were ,and are, afraid that with this coming to the modern days ,they would lose something?Maybe they are afraid to plunge into the New(what could-and should- be done without leaving the sacred Torah). What happens? Maybe the time for them make some changes has arrived yet. Instead of spliting from their own people, maybe they should start learning (and teaching) the ways to keep the Torah, but "refreshed"for the actual days we live in. Is this impossible? I think we need each other! We are all part of the same history.
29. Who are these people ?
andrew ,   miami, fl   (03.27.06)
30. The Fault of the Victims? Yes!
Lady Justice ,   City of Peace   (03.27.06)
When "Good" refused the job, "Evil" was appointed to the task. Torah tells us we may choose the "blessing" or the "curse"---that is our only choice. When heaven decreed the time for the re-gathering to the Land of Israel, this was the choice and today the choice remains the same. As long as the "Good" refuse to go the way of "blessing" by taking the reins of power into their hands, "Evil" will just keep on enjoying success after success and we will reach the goal through "curses." The obedient child gets to walk alongside his father, skipping and eating an ice cream cone. The rebellious child will take the same trip being hit with a stick the whole way. Why do you like this stick so much!?
