2. I hope they don't pinch any cheeks in the knesset.

3. Pensioners Party
Sandra ,   Israel   (03.29.06)
To: Luke. If you haven't got any intelligent remarks to make, I suggest you keep quiet. The members of this party are part of the backbone of Israel. I don't know where you're from, UK ? who gives a toss about the pensioners there. USA? the same applies.
4. Pensioners
leah amdur ,   Jerusalem Israel   (03.29.06)
Kol ha kavod pensioners. You have shown Israeli society that there is justice after all. The State run by Labor and Likud had a bankrupt ideology devoid of any Jewish values or chessed. You have shown them that Jews will not stand for this
5. Pensioners
Bill Pearlman ,   Chicago, USA   (03.29.06)
Its disturbing that there was even a need for this party, has a society we always looked after our parents, or we used to anyway. But there are other issues here. The security of the country and the educational system. Has someone who is getting older I understand their fears but to essentially say that we don't give a sh-t about anything else has long has we get ours is more than a little unnerving.
6. You may be surprised
Pam ,   Arizona USA   (03.29.06)
Retired doesn't mean stupid or naive! These are men and women who have been accomplished in government, intel, business, unions. They know what's involved in leadership and politics, including, it seems, getting out the vote. Underestimate their savvy if you want, but first look at AARP in the USA -- THE number one lobby. If Gil focuses on the elderly first, and young children -- their grandchildren -- second, they'll be a force for years to come.
7. A model for cooperation
Chaya ,   Israel   (03.29.06)
In spite of their having voted for different parties, they can put these differences aside to concentrate on one thing: the welfare of our retired citizens, many of whom live on a very limited budget. They should be able to live out their lives in dignity. Today, with 'old age' being pushed further and further up, these people can contribute to society much longer than their parents did.
8. one goal
jason white ,   afula,israel   (03.29.06)
Yeah they have one goal. But stand in line with shas, labor and others to suck the blood out of the Israeli workers. Take the money for defense and for the education of your grandchildren. Nice to see that people from bezek and electric company pensioners union so concerned. How big are their pension checks already? They drained the blood from us when they were working with their huge salaries and now they will go for the last drops.

Israel ,   Israel   (03.30.06)
Doesnt everyone remember the story of a old man planting a fruit tree in his garden. And a boy asks him why he is planting it when the old man wont even be able to eat off of it. The old man responds that it isnt for me but for future generations can enjoy the fruits, the shade, and its splendor. These elders have forgotten this story and are truly looking at only their selfish immediate needs.
10. Luke, how old are you? 14? 15?
Annie ,   Ofarim   (03.30.06)
Guess what! One day even you will be a pensioner. Tell me, do you have grandparents? With your disrespect for older people, apparently not. This may come as a surprise to you, but older people have something that's called life experience. That means that they have faced and survived many different situations that little snots like you can't even begin to imagine. Respect your elders!
11. the ten commandments and the aged
debra ,   usa   (03.30.06)
the lord of israel has told us in the commandments to honor our father and mother so their days will be long upon the earth. treat the elderly with respect and support. these pensioners are not asking for anything the lord does not want them to have.
12. Another one
David ,   Kiriyat Ata   (03.30.06)
Another socialistic party in israel!!! When does israel society wake up to reality and understands that socialism does NOT work and is evil!!! The newly formed knesset is goin to be horrible with labour, maybe meretz even and this party...
13. They gold the Key!!
David   (03.31.06)
The pensioners party holds the key to the coalition. Will they support a Kadimah-Labor-Oensioners narrow coalition with outside support from the Arabs. Lets hope so.
