During times like this I think about those who kept telling us to shut up. Who thought we didn't have the right to speak up. Well....maybe our silent treatment toward Hamas is a mistake too?
2. JF Perhaps its NOT
Eve ,   Israel   (04.01.06)
We are fed up with the terror attacks and bullshit ....its time for us too be strong ... hamas will never survive
3. fools ...
Jeff ,   Australia   (04.01.06)
A big mistake. Hamas is the only party which has the power to make hard decisions and provide the required peace. Hamas does not have American blood on it and there is no justification for it to be shunned by the Americans. The "Lobby" is responsible for this insane foreign policy.
4. JF GOOD TALK
GEORGE SAMI   (04.01.06)
AMERICAN GOVERNMENTS , PUSH AND PUT PRESSURES TOWARDS HAMAS TO RECOGNIZE ISRAEL AND TO RENOUNCE THE VIOLENCE. HOW THE AMERICAN OFFICIALS ACCEPT ON THEMSELVES TO ACT LIKE THIS. THE PALESTINIANS ARE THE VICTIMS HERE , AND ISRAEL IS THE SLOUGHTER, HOW YOU ASK THE VICTIM TO ACCEPT THIS. AND IT IS THE HONOURABLE TO HAMAS AND ALL THE MEMBER MUST BE PROUD OF THIS CUTS .
5. Fireback
Atmawi ,   Historic Palestine   (04.01.06)
I think this will fire back to Americans, and Israelies. It is a double edge sowrd. Hamas popularity will go sky rocketing. Hamas will survive no matter what. Hamas strength and legetmacy came from Voters, not from the Americans. They will show the world what transperency means, they will educate the west the best way to deal with FUNDs, they will very nuch comply plus to EU, and USAID transperency standards. They will not even touch American money, they already have there own resources. Israel will have to fullfill its obligation as an occupier, and as such, any penny Americans will not pay, Israel will have to.
6. Hamas has to decide
Caroline ,   Israel   (04.01.06)
It is not out of the blue that Hamas is considered a terrorist organization. USA is right to sever contacts with terrorists. Since Hamas was democratically elected by palestinian people, it is supposed that the electorate weighed their decision and now has to face the consequences, unless Hamas changes the attitude. If Hamas changes their stand - it will betray the palestinian people's expectations. If Hamas sticks to their ideology and goals - it will have to deal with the boycott of some Western States, starting from the measures described in this article. The choice is tough, but Hamas has to decide. It is not possible to remain a terrorist organization while receiving aid and support from the countries they consider their ideologocal enemy.
7. #5 What is "Historic Palestine"?
Caligula's Horse   (04.01.06)
Is it a region? A geographical area? A once sovergine nation? If so could you name its first king? What was it's official religion? What was its capital? And also number #5, since you are a Hamasnik, why dont you ask Haniya for food? Why rely on the evil satanic US money? Where is your famed Arab honour? Are you that weak that you must depend on infidels and haters of Allah and Islam? What would Muhammad say about that if he saw you? And do you honestly believe Hamas will use the pennies it recives from Iran for your general welfare? Do you really think that you Palestinians could survive without the 6$ billion you recive yearly? What will happen when the US and Europe will cut their donations, since those donations make up a clear majority of that 6$ billion? Will you starve for the cause of killing Jews?
8. clinton's BS runneth over the top
(04.01.06)
So Clinton was ok with Arafat saying in English he renounced terror while in Arabic saying he was for terror. sort of reminds you of the parsing about sex during the Monica days and his judgement then stunk to high heaven then too. Now most of the world sees that Clinton was wrong and Oslo was wrong. Radical Islam of which Hamas is a center staged part wants to kick all Jews out of Israel. Next would be death to all Christians who do not convert. We are playing with facists Clinton. Wake up.
9. Easy guys

You want to see where Historic Palestine? It is the same place where I am living now, My father used to live, my grandfather, and grand grand grand father. This is my lovely Historic Palestine you do not know about. Go to you pible andyou will find the place where Jesus born, this is Historic Palestine, Go to Jewish pible, and they also talking a bout Historic Palestine. Now it is your turn to tell me if any one can find State Of Israel on the map before 1948. Now for what so called American, and EU AID! Get the hill out of Palestine, end occupation now, open our borders to neighboring states, and we need no one. Israel as occopier has obligation to pay us back. Americans and EUs helping Israel not the Palestinians by giving AID. If Palestinians has no food, or water, or can not make living, then Israel as PER SHAROON (OCCUPIER) will have to provide shulter. If My Prophet alive, there will be not even one moslem hungry. You will be getting welfare from the Islamic State as your grands used to.
11. #10 Atmawi - Historic "Palestine".
D. Roberts ,   South Wales, UK.   (04.01.06)
The Hebrew-Christian Scriptures declare that Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem, JUDEA. "Palestine" is not mentioned anywhere in the Bible, just as Jerusalem is not mentioned anywhere in the Koran. The name "Palestine" is the 'anglicised' term for "Syria Palaestina", the name given by the Romans when they defeated the kingdoms of Israel & Judah in AD135. A name given to utterly remove any Jewish connection from the territory, at the same time as when Jerusalem was simultaneously renamed "Aelia Capitolina". From that time even to the rebirth of the Jewish State in 1948 a Jewish presence STILL remained in the Land despite the area being conquered by numerous foreign occupiers. After the Roman occupation ending in 330AD, the region that eventually became known as "Palestine" was then occupied by numerous empires; Byzantines (330-638AD), Arabs (Fatimids & Abbasids), and Turks (Seljuks) (638-1099AD), Crusaders (1099-1291AD), Mamluks (1291-1516AD), Ottomans (1516-1917AD), British (1917-1948AD). Israel was reborn in 1948 and exists to the present day. "Palestine" itself has NEVER existed as a 'sovereign' nation with it's own people, culture and capital city. Until 1948 it was just a regional land occupied by foreign empires. Despite the repeated use of the term "Palestine" in political and media circles it is a historical fact that "Palestine" as a social, political, national, regional, religious or geographic entity of any description does not exist at this time and has not done so since 1948. The use of the term is a distortion and shows an inherent bias against the Jewish state and is used as a platform for propaganda to support the Arab fight to delegitimize and eradicate Israel from it's ancient Biblical homeland.

"it is a historical fact that "Palestine" as a social, political, national, regional, religious or geographic entity of any description does not exist ..." Atmawi ,   Historic Palestine   (04.01.06)
Sounds like you are well history educated person. I am not as good as you in history, So I prefer not to go deeper in this side. What we are asking The powerfull occupier (Israel) is only to recognize that we are human beings, and that we deserve to live in this land as much as any one else if not more. I will not go through the Chicken and egg argument. You may go back to Ibraheem, Ismaeel, and Ishaq. As of my Holy book they are all Moslems, as per my holy book they migrated to my Historic Palestine when Ibraheem refused to pray to idoles like his own tribe used to do in Babilion Iraq. He did marry Sara, whom we call Mother Sara, and then married to her maid Hager. Now Hager delivered Ismaeel, and Sara delivered Ishaq. Both of them brothers to the same father. Now Jews and Arabs are of the same decendensy, So why in the hill we can not live togother. There is enogh food, enough land to every one, Why Jews want all Historic Palestine for themselves, and want to ckick me out of my grand grand father land. I did born here, and that should be enough to qualify me for a citizenship. For Jews it is the land of father Ibraheem. For Christians it is the land of jesus. For moslems: It is the land of our father Ibraheem, It is the place for the second mosque on this earth, it is a sacred place where our prophet Mohammad lifted to skys from it, it is the first Quble (The first place wheer moslems used to pray towards it). For me as individuals, Honestly I do not care whose place that one is, IT is the place wher I born, and no one has the right to ckick me out no matter what.
15. ISLAM consider TEL AVIV and all ISRAEL OCCUPIED
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (04.01.06)
The war to conquer Israel is strategically important to global jihad. Peace Agreements are signed with the intention of breaking the agreements. Surrendering Jewish land to Islamo-Fascists strengthens global jihad. At this time, the West is not winning Islam's global jihad . In Islam, all Israel and ALL countries that are not Muslim are considered Dar al-Harb - the abode of war to be conquered for Islam. From Wikipedia encyclopedia: Dar al-Islam (Arabic: دار الإسلام literally house of submission) is a term used to refer to those lands under Muslim government(s). In the conservative tradition of Islam the world is divided into two components: dar al-Islam, the house of submission and dar al-Harb, the house of war.
16. #13 Paul Phillips - Historic "Palestine".
D. Roberts ,   South Wales, UK   (04.01.06)
Paul Phillips writers;- "it is a historical fact that "Palestine" as a social, political, national, regional, religious or geographic entity of any description does not exist ..." So, the British mandate in Palestine is a figment of historic memory ......nice to know where the mandate applied, if it wasn't a geographic entity known as Palestine. Well Paul, if you check your history books you will discover that the British Mandate in what was then Palestine EXPIRED in 1948 at the rebirth of the Jewish state of Israel in it's Biblical homeland. If you read my actual words you will also discover that my entire statement, not the selective reference, outlines that very fact together with a detailed outline of the region's history.
17. #14 Atmawi
D. Roberts ,   South Wales, UK   (04.01.06)
Atmawi writes; "...no one has the right to ckick me out no matter what...." Hamas is the subject of this article and it is the Hamas charter which does not recognise the Jewish claim to the Land and wants to do the actual "kicking out". It is no coincidence that the policies of Hamas/PA require that the Palestinian territories to be "Judenrein" - free of any Jews. More Jews were ethnically cleansed from Arab lands around 1948, where they had lived for thousands of years, than the number of Palestinians who fled the Holy Land, yet their plight is expediently ignored. The claim to the Land as outlined in the Hebrew-Christian Scriptures predates the birth of Islam by many thousands of years and is based upon the descendancy of Isaac and not Ishmael. Your reference to the Mosque in Jerusalem and Mohammed needs to be seen in the context of the historical fact that in Mohammed's lifetime, Jerusalem was outside the sphere of Islam and that Mohammed died decades before a mosque was built on the Temple Mount. So Jerusalem and the Temple Mount cannot possibly be the location of the farthest mosque mentioned in the Koran. Mohammed died in 632, six years before Jerusalem fell to the Arabs under Caliph Omar in 638. The Dome of the Rock was not built until 692, which was sixty years after Mohammed's death. The Al- Aqsa Mosque was not built until 712, which is eighty years after Mohammed's death.

This americans like to eternize this conflict. It is the same blabery for years and nothing effective and positive finally happens. Israel should finally decide what is the best for itself and stop listening this people that only care for their own business, teasing governs ,like Israel,to follow their crazy agenda. If they give money to Israel( or to its governors-corruption-,who knows?),doesn't mean they can determine its destiny. I guess,Israel pay them back very fatly with its intelingency in the area.

clinton is defenitely bored... and he is turning into another jimi carter ,who would shake hands with the enemies of the west in general ,and the u.s and israel in particular.... what do these 2 have in common? impotent presidencies ,shalow personalities ,and an absolute love for our enem, ies. just go away already ,will you both?

21. Clinton supports dealing with Hamas
Pollin ,   Bethesda, USA   (04.01.06)
Clinton shook hands and much more with Arafat in 1993 and in 2000 and got "marvelous" results. He would like to repeat that. He would like Israel to continue to pay the price for his being in the headlines. Clinton's role is over. He should support the sitting president no matter what his personal opinion is.
22. Reply to # 14 What about Jewish and Kurdish human dignity
Daniel ,   Israel   (04.01.06)
"I am not as good as you in history, So I prefer not to go deeper in this side." The reason you don't want to deeper in history is because the historical facts are not in your advantage. We Israelis are the indigenous and rightful owners of Israel and no anti-Jewish propaganda will ever change this fact. Instead of constantly feeling sorry for yourself, you Arabs should more than anyone in the world study your long and bloody history of irrendism, fanatiscm and racism. Who in the Arab world cares about of the human dignity of the nearly 1 million Jews who fled or were expelled from the Arab world? No one. Who in the Arab world bothers to remember that the Arabs have always opposed any territorial compromises that would not give the Arabs 100% of what they want? The Arabs and the Moslems control 99,9% of the Middle East and still they have the chutzpah to complain. I can't wait to finally separate the Israeli society completely from compulsive Arab racists, murderers and liers like you. The more fences and mine fields that separate us the better.

24. reply to #21; re- Clinton
D. Roberts ,   South Wales, UK   (04.01.06)
I remember Clinton embracing Peres/Rabin/Arafat for the media circus on the Whitehouse lawn in 1993, giving an appearance of "peace" when there is no "peace". Later the same day Arafat spoke in Arabic on Jordanian TV declaring;- "Since we cannot defeat Israel in war, we do this in stages. We take any and every territory that we can of Palestine, and establish sovereignty there, and we use it as a springboard to take more. When the time comes, we can get the Arab Nations to join us for the final blow against Israel." The rest is history. I remember Clinton looking straight into the camera, waving his finger for emphasis and declaring "I did not have sexual relations with that woman....". The rest is history.

Another ignorant Arab. hamass has temporary popularity with the palestinians because of the corruption of their leadership. Once they see that promotion of terror against the Sovereign State of Israel will only lead to more anarchy, poverty, and failure, they will turn on their newly elected terror leadership., As for funding the palestinians, the money ALWAYS seems to end up in Swiss bank accounts and Parisian mansions. hamass is no different
27. Arab quotes re Palestine/Palestinians.
D. Roberts ,   South Wales, UK   (04.01.06)
Two quotes which are relevant to the discussions in the wake of the article pertaining to Hamas. On March 31, 1977, the Dutch newspaper Trouw published an interview with Palestine Liberation Organization executive committee member, Zahir Muhsein. Here's what he said: "The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct "Palestinian people" to oppose Zionism. For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan." Also writing in FaZastin al-Thawra (an official publication of the PLO) in March 1976, Abu Mazen, a member of the PLO executive committee and now the present PLO/Palestinian Authority Chairman, noted: "The Arab armies entered Palestine to protect the Palestinians. .. . but, instead, they abandoned them, forced them to emigrate and to leave their homeland, imposed upon them a political and ideological blockade and threw them into prisons similar to the ghettos in which the Jews used to live in Eastern Europe."
