31. 27 Caroline, Israel: well said - May be you can explain to
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (04.04.06)
Keren the facts of Israel's poor people and that she has no clue for the reasons Keren insists about the reason of poverty in Israel is: .....If Israel aplied the Jews principles of Justice, and its governors stoped being corrupts and loved their people,it would never had happened. ..... Now Carol - you being there surely can give her the reality of facts Thanks

I thing Israel should strengthen its Jewish caracter,by incentivating Jews to respect other Jews inside Israel-and not to following ,blindly, the actual propaganda meant for this government to undermine the religious jew caracter of some Jews, using them as scape goats ,in order to implement much easily their desangagement plans-,by incentivating Jewish principles, by getting rid of what is outraging ,etc. Then, it should be a very strict exam ,that could even last months, made by observators,in order to know if those entering the country are truly Jews. If the conclusion is positive,in any case they are allowd to stay, because this is the idea of the Jewish state. If the conclusion is that they are not Jews, should be required some pre conditions, that are in the interest of the state,as it happens in all countries. If the requirements are fulfilled,as the necessity for certain jobs,or ...well,other interests, they should be allowed to stay. But the first requirement,in my view ,is the Truth.Israel must know and decide whether is good or not for them having no Jews inside the country,to avoid cases as posed by Roni # 12.
33. and yet another thing about Roni's 12 comments
keren ,   sao paulo   (04.04.06)
If Israel has a so good Inteligence Service,to reach out enemies outside the country,it should use the same Service to KICK OUT the country those who dare make things as exemplefied by Roni.
34. 33 keren ,You post anything right now - Roni knows facts
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (04.04.06)

Caroline ,   Israel   (04.04.06)
Care to have a look to my talkbac at the OPINION's "Laughing all the way to the bank" # 10 and by the same occasion about the Russian/Israeli misunderstanding at OPINION's "Appreciating the Russians" # 4. Concerning the exam for citizenship - I am strongly FOR it, though I doubt it will be implemented one day.
36. test for citizenship
Hilda ,   USA   (04.04.06)
For once I agree with Michael Steiner. It should be a priviledge to be an Israeli citizen. Absolutely, there should be some pledge of allegience to the country and a public ceremony. Especiallly when the US is having problems of its own regarding citizenship now is the time to affirm loyalty to the country one wishes to become a citizen of. When my husband came to America and wished to become a citizen, he had to go through not only examinations in history and knowledge about the US, he also had to go through a background check, a character check and had to have witnesses as to his good character and those who would attest that he was not a communist , now or ever. The witness in turn had to undergo a character background check. His witnesses could not be a family member or even a distant relative. I also was a witness for someone so I know from both sides. If Israel incorporated some of these tactics perhaps Israel would have less of the Russian Mafia types and also it would keep out the hostile Arabs no matter who they married. If Israel would make it as hard for some to become citizens as they made it hard for me to get married in Israel it would be better for the country. Incidently there are many in the US who want to make it meaningless to be a citizen --We have too many illegal immigrants and now there are those who want to give them all the rights of citizens, including the right to vote. It is a big mistake.
37. It is not racism to have only Jews live in the land G-d
Bunnie Meyer ,   Santa Monica, CA   (04.05.06)
gave the Jews. If G-d wanted 'palestinian' terrorists to live in Israel, He could have said that. Nut cases with their overwhelming "political correctness" insanity have turned the world upside down. We can't have students "fail" in school because it would harm their "self-esteem" so lazy kids who do no work graduate with a diploma. Bringing a torah or a bible into saudi arabia can get you the death sentence. But Israel in the name of democracy should let in "palestinians" who want to kill Jews? Lunacy! Israel is one tiny Jewish state, the only Jewish state, and there is no reason to share it with non-Jews. Let any peaceful person be a tourist, but let only Jews live there. Was G-d "racist" when He gave the land of Israel to the Jews and not to the Eskimos or the Bushmen in Australia? I think not.
38. To Bunnie...
John ,   Jerusalem   (04.05.06)
Your extreme version of reality based on religion is quite similar to the Muslims.
39. 37 Bunnie Meyer : Talk for yourself -You don't talk for Jews
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (04.05.06)
in general You actually with your postings many times are a disgrace of irrational views that are finally extremism You sit in California - rambling utmost nonsense Any form of extremism is dangerous
40. Citizenship tests for all - not just non-Jews
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (04.05.06)
I know plenty of Jewish immigrants who are totally ignorant of anything in Israeli history that isn't connected with their brand of Judaism. Keep the law of return with Israel as a refuge for Jews in distress, but if there are going to be citizenship tests, than one test for all coming here who are not born here . Including Jews.
41. Citizenship
wl ,   usa   (04.07.06)
First they have to believe there is only one only one Jerusalem second it should be followed by loyality test.
