when Jews die in bus bombings initiated by Palestinians, we are called "sacrifices for peace" and nobody in England or elsewhere calls for a war crimes trial. I think it's clear that this isn't about war crimes. It's about politics, pure and simple. We can't make excuses for the incorrect actions of our soldiers. There must be discipline in the ranks, and respect for human life. And only in the case where the life of the soldier is being threatened, is the person required to use their weapon. Now here is a case where Sergeant Taysir Hayb's life was not in danger, and he opens fire on an unarmed photographer and kills him. We can hardly call that self-defense or even a crime of passion. And the fact that the photographer was shot in the head indicates intent to kill. The Sergeant then goes on to cover up the murder by giving false information. Now is that the actions of a professional soldier? I think not. If the IDF has nothing to hide, they should not be in the business of shooting down unarmed journalists and photographers, and thinking that they are doing G-d's work. Soldiers who commit murder should not be shielded by the IDF from prosecution.

good points. If Hundall was in an area of military conflict, then he obviously took a risk. But there was no conflict at the time. And the fact that Sargeant Taysir Hayb was indicted for manslaughter and sentenced to seven years imprison, just says that he was not totally innocent. And if the Sargeant was just following orders, then the commanding officers need to be indicted as well. In a democracy, people have the right to disagree with the political views of a country without being shot down. And Israel is not so perfect that it can't take criticism. What is a war zone? An area where Arabs live? The same way the Israeli police removed the settlers in Amona, they could have very easily done the same for the ISM demonstators. Certainly in a democracy, killing unarmed people for their political beliefs cannot be justified. I read the information on those biased websites, and it sounds like they are making all types of excuses to justify IDF murder, and clear Sargeant Taysir Hayb of responsibility.
