How can suicide be self defense? I guess the same way martyrdom can somehow include the murder of others. I'm not sure how all these terms translate to Hebrew, Yiddish, or Arabic, but I'll tell you these types of stories absolutely rape the English language. You cannot claim you're defending yourself if you intentionally kill yourself in the process. You cannot claim you are a martyr if you intentionally kill yourself and others.
