2. And the religions (xristianity and islam) of hatred continue
(04.20.06)
Both of your religions are cults, you call yourself religions of peace, you have only brought the death of millions to anyone you have met. Born by the sword and you will die by the sword.
3. Neither "Palestinos" or "Palestinians" exist.
Daisy ,   USA   (04.19.06)
These Arabs should be called mentirosos because they lie about being "Palestinians."
4. we need millions of RODRIGO GOLDBERG!
STEPHANE ,   france   (04.19.06)
this man said at the end of the interview something i've always said, and that i hear for the first time from a non- jewish man,he said a very important truth:"to the contrary for me it's a compliment".this is the best answer you can give to a stupid antisemite.so bravo rodrigo, and may god create millions of men like him.an ANTIsemite,it's someone who never knew a jew.a PHILOsemite,it's someone who met jews;like rodrigo for example.
5. Rodrigo is the best!
Caligula's Horse ,   Solomon's Stables   (04.19.06)
He was one of the best foriegn football players in our country, I remember when he left maccabi he was nearly crying, good luck!

jason white ,   afula,israel   (04.19.06)
I always said soccer is the sport played by people that animals come to watch.
8. Just another..
David ,   Stockholm,Sweden   (04.20.06)
..fine example of arabs living abroad. So civilized, humble and eager to fit in their new society.
9. How could you..
David Joseph ,   Orlando, Florida   (04.20.06)
That you can compare Christianity and Islam. I can tell you as someone who has compared the Torah and Old Testament and studied the New Testament; the scriptures reflect the character of the same G-D throughout the Bible. The New Testament is historically, culturally and technologically accurate. And if you want to get into Torah and Bible codes? Now I wouldn’t recommend reading the quran; it is pure evil. Contrary to the Torah and the Bible. Now if your referring to Catholicism as cult that has taken many lives, I would agree. Remember most men were not educated and could not read in early centuries in Spain(for example) and only knew what they were told. The same situation in the Arab/Muslim states today still exists. Now you have two differences one book teaching to murder, hate, rape and those who listen. And then another book that teaches to Love the LORD and show brotherly love and those who choose not to listen.
10. We are with you.
howard ,   pacific coast, usa   (04.20.06)
11. Thank you Rodrigo !!!
Chai ,   Israel   (04.20.06)
12. rodrigo goldberg
debra ,   usa   (04.20.06)
we jews love you dearly.
13. Chilean "Palestinians" not refugees
David ,   Montreal, Canada   (04.20.06)
The club Palestino was not founded by "Palestinian refugees" as the article claims, but by Christian Arabs who emigrated from the Syrian province of the Ottoman Empire, long before any Arab began labeling himself "Palestinian".
14. Anti-Arab Rasicm in Betar
Gary24 ,   London   (04.20.06)
The racism against Goldberg reminds me of the hatred that Salim Tuama and Najwan Gharib have suffered from Betar Jerusalem filth.
15. maybe his name is not a mere coincidence
keren ,   sao paulo   (04.20.06)
and this guy has a truly jewish soul. I would like this kind of things to happen for others non Jews, for them to understand how deep and sad are such insultings. As I said here once:those who hate Jews are just enviers. But we,Jews, can never let this kind of things to down our backs, because we are the People in this world that has much accomplished for the humanity. Of course, all of us have yet many lessons to learn in order to apprimorate ourselves, this is for sure. But again,no other people in this world has ever done what we keep doing for the Humanity. And this will never stop!
16. #13 - they dress up in the colors of the Palestinian flag
michael ,   tel aviv   (04.20.06)
Muslim or Chistian ? Ottoman Empire ? - the club was founded in 1921. They still feel that they're Palestinians and consider Palestine their stolen homeland and long for the day of its freedom? They called their football club Palestino? They dress up in the colors of the Palestinian flag which represents their love and appreciation of what that flag stands for? They chant nationalistic songs for their homeland in their football games? Doesn't sound like Christians to me but I would like to hear more on the subject though, Mike
17. Change his name-
USA   (04.20.06)
He should just change his jewish name- Jews have-for centuries caused strife- so why get blamed for their karma-
18. #17 "USA" You clearly aren't a real American...
Yonatan ,   USA   (04.20.06)
Real Americans understand we are a melting pot of all peoples, all races, all religions... Go back and play with your KKK buddies. In the future, don't expect me to respond to any of your ignorant drivel.
19. Doesn't sound like Christians
(04.20.06)
THEY ARE CHRISTIAN, MOSTLY SMALL SHOPOWNER FAMILIES. Before there never were any problems between Jews and Arabs in Chile.
20. Why Did This Time "Cross The Line"?
emanon ,   USA   (04.20.06)
If we read the story, Goldberg had been accosted previously, yet he said nothing. What made this time worse than th others? More impotantly, it is not clear of Goldberg is protesting because of the display of bigotry or that he is not Jewish and therefore feels he should be exempt from the bigotry. What happened is wrong. If Goldberg is complaining now because he is not Jewish and not compalining about the insults in gerneral, his is the greater misdeed than what the name callers did.
21. To #20 and his total misunderstanding
Daniel ,   United States   (04.21.06)
Goldberg does not feel being Jewish is an insult, what he is against is using being Jewish as an insult at all, and I as a Jew, and as a proud American aplaud him for that. Goldberg would fit in very well in America which is for the most part very tolerant, and I can understand why he fit in perfectly in Israel.
22. Read again, #20
The Monster ,   Kansas City, KS, USA   (04.21.06)
He clearly states that being labelled a Jew isn't an insult. It's all of the other words that are used with it. I feel the same way. If someone called me a Jew, I'd take it as a compliment, because there are many things about Jewish culture that I believe are worth emulating. And that's really the problem in the middle east. The Arab/Moslem kleptocracies are embarrassed by comparison to "the Jewish entity" (they can't even bring themselves to name). The fact is that the Arab citizens of Israel enjoy better legal and economic status than anyone other than the ruling party/tribe in any other ME country. If only the 'Palestinians' would think about that, instead of trying to destroy the Jews, they'd be trying to learn from them.
23. Rodrigo Goldberg
leah amdur ,   Jerusalem Israel   (04.21.06)
Its wonderful that the palis are now living in Chile and the USA and Canada and Euroabia. May they all see that it is much better to live there. The standard of living is much higher and they are loved there
24. I Missed the Point
emanon ,   USA   (04.21.06)
I admit it. Thanks to the posters for redirecting me to the article. After I read it again, instead of quickly skimming, I picked uop what I missed.
25. Quoting me
Sam ,   Alquds, Palestine   (04.22.06)
Thanks for looking the things I wrote and quoting them David. I don't know what difference does it make for people here whether the Palestinians in Chile were moslem or christian, we do not have such a disscussion in the Palestinian street. The fact that Israel wants to create such a difference is only destroyed by the fact that moslems and christians alike are forbidden from entering Jerusalem to reach their sacred places and worship their god there. Club Palestino was established by Palestinian emigrants in 1920, and this is a fact which doesn't suit those who like to say that Palestine never existed until the mid 20's, and dressing up in the colors of the Palestinian flag doesn't help the claims of those who try to convince us that there is a difference between the hopes and aspirations of moslem and christian Palestinians. The question is, if those "christians" were from the Ottoman province of "Syria" and ran away from the Ottoman opression, why would they call their club Palestino, and why not syriano? Actually why remember the days of opression alltogether? I never heard of club Berlino in Tel Aviv or Bayern Raanana. Accept facts which are not yours.
26. #18- Unfortunate Misconception of America
Adam ,   MA, USA   (04.23.06)
Yonatan, Although such an America would be nice; a melting pot of cultures. However, that is an ideal that is not very realistic. Even in liberal Massachusetts, religions are taught through an academic perspective, but the general public continues with a fake tolerance and overall ignorance for other cultures. That is why living in Israel is fulfilling for many Diaspora Jews.
27. Tone
Steven ,   UK   (04.24.06)
You say: "If someone called me a Jew, I'd take it as a compliment." When someone says Jew *as* an insult, they have a tone to their voice. That makes it extremely difficult to take it as a compliment. I do not take it as a compliment, I register the hate but I try not to be offended. I am proud to be Jewish, but when "Jew" is an insult, I feel insulted.
28. Re: 25 - Er.....???
Steven   (04.24.06)
"the fact that moslems and christians alike are forbidden from entering Jerusalem to reach their sacred places and worship their god there. " For sure you have made a mistake. Muslims have authority of the Temple Mount. Muslims are not forbidden from praticing their faith. It is Jewish people who have been forbidden from praticing their religion while Jordan was occuping Jerusalem.
29. We Brothers
Kameli Buakula ,   Christchurch, NZ   (04.24.06)
Rodrigo is obviously an Ephraimite to have such a strong connection with the Jews like me. We Are Brothers, Fear Not My Jewish Brothers For Justice Is Near. Shalom.
30. What authority are you talking about???
Sam ,   Alquds, Palestine   (04.24.06)
The unarmed guards of al-haram, or the Israeli policemen on the doors? What kind of authority are you trying to falsify? What kind of religious freedom are you talking about when 2.8 Million moslems in the West Bank are forbidden to pray in their most sacred place in Palestine? What kind of freedom are you talking about when all the christians of the West Bank are forbidden to go to the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, their holiest place on earth, during Easter? What freedom are you trying to describe? Freedom to practice their faith? Do you mean Israel could still go further in its opression and forbid people from praying at home or what?
