That's right, in 1948, there were also 20% Arabs. But keep in mind, since 1948, Israel has recieved loads of immigrants in 1967 (1/3 mil) and after 1989 (1.2 mil). But these immigrants are well educated, urban Russians who have one or two children at most. Average Israeli Jewess now have 2-3 children. Average Arabess Israeli has 6-8 children. So in about 30 yrs, the Israeli Arab number will be closer to 40%. Suck on that!

What is the break down of the new births the article does not state? I also remember reading that between 1993 and 2003, I think, Israel permitted 100,000 Arabs to legally immigrate into Israel. How does Arab in- migration compare with the out-migration of the Israeli Jews?

You have nothing to cheer for. Should your prediction come true, which I sincerely hope it will not, Jews will not stay around as a minority among Arabs. Without the Jews, the UNWRA and foreign aid will be gone and Arabs will run the country into the ground just like the greenhouses in Gaza.

This is to wish Israel a happy birthday and the much desired peace that it deserves. I have followed the grown of this great nation since 1962 through my (and my friend's) links with Kol Israel, the national radio station which I accidentally picked up then in Nigeria. I followed the Yom Kippour andall subsequent wars on the radio and I was always delighted withe performance of the fighting forces of Israel. I also made a number of friends among the jewish population. I am a lover of this nation and I shall continue to love her. Many happy and peaceful return of the birthday. Shallom!!!
