3. To All: If Shas didnt go in Lieberman/Meretz Would Instead
Lisa ,   Tel Aviv   (05.01.06)
And they would without a doubt vote for the removal of homes, this is perfect that Shas got in as they will vote NO to the removal.
4. Lashon Hara!!!!
Michelle ,   Jerusalem   (05.01.06)
Dont insult these people, dont let gossip flow out of your mouths, Dont insult people behind someone's back. This is a great mizvah to help the religious, when we had the First/Second Temple, the citizens of Israel donated a percentage of their income to serve the yearly Torah scholars. Your doing a mitzvah, which is the greatest thing you can do as a Jew.
5. Am Yisrael Chai, A Return To Israel's Former Glory
Hebrew ,   Israel   (05.01.06)
How could this get any better: Shas will say no to the removal and Olmert wont be able to pass it More money for the poor Rabbinical courts gains more authority Am Yisrael Chai!!!!!
6. They are 100% Not Sellouts
(05.01.06)
They are not putting this money into their pockets, they are putting the money into the hands of the poor. Also, you think that the Knesset is giving its entire economy to Shas, look what your going to be doing with the removal of homes, Removing homes, military bases, synagogues, compensation, unemployment losses, building new buildings, homes, schools, military bases, thousands of people being out of work.......... That amounts to many many bliions of dollars of $$$$ Its not like Shas are using the money for their private homes and oversea acounts, they are using it for the poor and to enrich the Judaism in our country which has sourly depleted and been lossed.
7. The moment you came in the door. I could see you were ...
Yoel Ariel ,   US   (05.01.06)
Silly me! I was NOT aware that there was any more to give these schnorrers. But,...I can understand the morality of the issue, whatever it may or may not be. Olmert NEEDS to have a fig leaf no matter how minisccule it may be to justify his alleged "majority" in his "government". Can you visualize Yishai in a short skirt, fishnet stocking, low cut off the shoulder blouse and cigaret in his mouth, leaning against a lampost? Here comes Olmert in a French Sailor's uniform, Pom Pom on his tam. And Yishai says: "Hey there big boy. Got any handouts for a girl hungry for love, and cash????". Petty Officer Olmert says to the winsome young lass Yishai, "Sorry mon cher, but I need to grease the old fella from the Pensioner's. I'm sure you will understand.
8. Good news!
Dani ,   Tel Aviv   (05.01.06)
In other words, no ethnic cleansing of Jews will occur because Olmert won't have a government to carry it out, and the anti-religious will not be able to destroy our Holy Torah in out Holy Land.
9. To Religious Shas Haters: Answer Me This
(05.01.06)
Regarding the siuation of Yesha and the removal of the settlers, Would you rather have Meretz/Lieberman who have said again and again they want to make new borders and the removal of some of West Bank/Yesha or Shas who will vote NO to the settlement removal thus negating Olmert's plan?
10. He doesn't plan to push his 'convergence plan' - obviously!
michael ,   tel aviv   (05.01.06)
11. Arab Parties Will Say No To The Removal Of Settlers
(05.01.06)
Look at the entire Arab world, everyone is saying NO to Olmert moving the settlers and the wall and the permanent borders. The PLO authority and its "people" says NO, Egypt, Jordan, every Arab country that has commented about it has said NO. Even the US said NO. Olmert's plan is going to go right up is ****, it will never get through now that Shas (thank goodness) has somehow been able to convice Olmert of allowing Shas to say NO to his plan of removing the settlements.
12. Shas keeps its promises
bill handel ,   brooklyn,usa   (05.01.06)
Olmert tried to hoodwink them, but they kept their promises to defend independent Torah education and ease the plight of the poor.
13. Trust me. I'm a SHASH-nik.
Yoel Ariel ,   US   (05.01.06)
What makes you believe that SHAS will express a moral opinion and vote? Their track record is not too good. History is a very decent indicator of future performance. I am NOT encouraged. Are you?
14. Israel will be saved
yakov shani ,   afula   (05.01.06)
by Chief of Staff Eli Yishai marching into battle holding a scroll of the law and followed by Litzman et al all wearing funny hats instead of steele helmets and bearing a copy of the talmud instead of an m16. When our enemy is joined in battle and Yishai does not have the strength to hold up the scroll Metzger will give him support and our enemies will be defeated. The paratroopers and commandos who once were our saviour and all went to NY and LA can stay there in full knowledge that religious education and courts will produce a generation who will guarantee the future of Israel and that there will always be a homeland to return to. Oh, I almost forgot, Ovadiah Yosef will be Minister of Defence with no need for a security cabinet because he will have a direct line to the Almighty. If there is any slip up in the strategy or tactics a rabbinical court will hold an inquiry and decide with whom lies the fault and for how many years he must go back to Yeshiva and prepare for the next round.
15. # 14 How low can you go, Have you ever heard of theMaccabees
(05.02.06)
Shesh, you celebrate Hannukah but you dont even know why your really celebrating it. We have survived as a nation because our Torah and Talmud and G-d, we rather be killed than to convert as they did in the days of old. The Maccabees destroyed the Gentiles in Eretz Yisrael, the most religious soldiers you could have. If not for the Torah scholars, where would you be, you would be a Xristian or Moslem or a Hindu. Why do you call yourself a Jew, if you spit on those that follow G-d's commandments.
16. #13 What party has a clear/perfect track record?
(05.02.06)
17. Thanks 2 Shas/Olmert 4 crushing the excellent job of bibi
ANti-SHAS ,   Paris   (05.02.06)
18. # 15
yakov shani ,   afula   (05.02.06)
I can go even lower than that if you push me. I do not need lessons in Judaism from you or anyone else, or in ahavat Eretz Yisrael for that matter, both have been in the blood and bones of my family and that of my wife for more generations than you care to mention. I and all members of my family for generations have GIVEN to Israel, blood, sweat and tears and much more. What do the ultra othodox, the haredim etc. give to Israel and to the Nation. I shall tell you sir, ZERO. They take as much as they can and give nothing, and please do not give me a lecture on tzdaka because I not only know all about it, it is a part of me and my life. Please do not push me, but if you do watch out. Scroungers have no place in our society especially when it calls for others to lay down their lives for them to continue their pitiful existence.
19. #18 Who were you trying to protect if not the Jews?
(05.02.06)
How will our civilization from the Torah and Talmud surive if there are no Torah scholars and teachers, How will be any different from an athiest or anyone else? How will we survive as a nation if we dont have united pride in our Jewishness, in our civilization.' Reveal yourself to the nation, what you stand for, is it a 2nd America or a Jewish state. Why do you pride yourself in fighting for Israel if you spit on those that have held on to the civilization that brought you the state.
20. #13 You make me cry that an Israeli would so vilify Jews
