3. This technology is old

Some 7 years ago, while I worked for a startup connected to e-books, there were concepts going around for bookstores and vending machines that print books on demand. Now that's cool. Vending machine where you can buy any book that was digitalized, which is nearly everything in belletristics you will ever want. Just check out online bookstores like amazon and BN, what titles do they offer in ebook format. Such technology is possible. All that is needed is B&W double sided fast lazer printer, and colour printer for covers, and binding machine, and a computer, and you can have print on demand paperbacks in a vending machine. How many books in PDF can you put in a 100GB hard drive? Answer is a lot. Enough to fill a serious library. Pity that the idea died with burst of .com bubble.

I remembered buying two books from a vending machine on the New York subway. This was in the fifties at the Jamaica station. I have the two books around the house somewhere. The vending machine also sold combs, shoe cleaner pads, ect.
5. How about a decent Bookstore

Most of the bookstores here are no better tha a vending machine. Small selections, unhelpful staff.......... I am still searching for a decent store in thiscountry,
