Opposite Yemin Moshe, on the other side of King David Strret, in what is now the Liberty Bell Park, an attempt on the life of the British High Commissioner was made in August 1944. The Lechi members disguised themselves as "landscape painters". One of the participants was later part of the Lechi team that assassinated Lord Moyne.
