The largest of of the detention camps was Atlit (10kms south of Haifa).These poor immigrants were put in cattle cars to be transported to the camp.The conditions of the barracks are so bad that many concentration camps survivors who have visited Atlit said that the experience is a reliving of the WWII Camps and around the camp a triple wire fence to avoid any possibility of escape.
