one terrorist telling other terrorists to follow his path to the destruction of Israel. The 67 'borders' don't exist. You had your choice in 48 and now must face reality on the ground. Soon the Chamberlainesque team of Olmert and Peretz will be gone and then you will have to make a determination on what is best for us
2. Those be fighting words!!

My shewarma is much bigger than your's Abu Mazen..... We will not stop the struggle! I still have the keys to my grandfather's goat shed! Where is Zahariya? Spit on this traitor now! I will sell my my daughter's hymen for more weapons!
3. Reality on the Ground
J K ,   NYC, USA   (05.25.06)
The reality on the ground will prevent the 'Palestinians' from realizing their dreams of a state within the totality for the 67 borders. While I cannot say what will happen in the end to Ariel and likely Maaleh Adumim, I do not see how Israel will be giving back Gush Etzion. or Canada Park/Latrun in any agreement. Too much has happened to Israel to ever agree to the '48 borders again and the Palestinians changing gears from wanting all of Israel to the '48 borders isnt really a shift. It's too little too late. They could have even had more in 2000, but they are going to have to settle for 92% of what they want. From nothing to 92% aint bad.
4. convergence Abbas style vs convergence Olmet style

two people holding on to a garment. one says it is all mine, the other says it is all mine, this one shall swear not less than half belongs to him and this one shall swear not les half belongs to him. And they will divide it (the garment). baba metzia
5. There is NO such thing as 67 borders never was
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (05.25.06)
The so called "Green Line" has never represented an international boundary. The 1949 armistice agreements specifically refer to this fact. There was never a recognized and legitimate sovereign in the West Bank. The legal status of these areas remains that of disputed territory- to be resolved through negotiations . It is this that is required by Security Council Resolutions 242 and 338, which call for the parties to start negotiations , inter alia, on "secure and recognized boundaries", and agreements reached between the parties specifically refer to the need for direct negotiations to resolve this issue.

9. If it is true, a positive step.
shai ,   T-A   (05.25.06)
In a negociation, each party starts with a maximalist position - the opening bid - , here, on the palestinian side, the 67 green line. Afterwards, comes the necessary compromise. Hopefully...
10. Another briliant arab idea
Yossi ,   Canada   (05.25.06)
A referendem on matters completely rejected by Israel. It's like heading towards a brick wall and stepping on the gas. Once and for all. Fight like arabs and win the war.

aa ,   london   (05.25.06)
you are living in a dream , if the zionists wanted to give up the lines of the 67 border , they would have givin it to arafat before you , who are bullshiting , only yourself . what about the apparthied wall that the zionists are building , is that in your eyes the 67 borders ? because if you are that naive and dump , for sure the palestinian people are not and they will not accept to live with an apprthied wall that will seperate them from there family"s and the people they love . what you are doing is causing blood shed between the palestinians , and you will not be forgivin for it . people are fed up with your fatah people ( the theives) and they have givin you a 10 year old chance and you failed , so its time you give up and give someone else a chance to try . it was you and your organization who destroyed the palestinian people and sent them to where they are at now . as a catholic man , iam not very fond of hamas , but at this point i think they will do a better job than you and your organization who stole the peoples money and put them in banks all over the world . how much money are you stealing now from your people ? and is this why you are willing to give up on a lot of land that belongs to your people ? wake up before you are killed if not by zionists , then your own people will do it ....
12. '67 ultimatum
Riv ,   Jerusalem   (05.25.06)
1. It is just that an ultimatum or war. Another intifada for my family and the families of Israel to suffer through....! (and they know it!) 2. Who knows it? For one, not only the Palestinians who threaten us at every step but more importantly WORLD LEADERS. All very clever for their own reasons. While there is no such thing as 67 borders ( G. Goldwater: "The so called "Green Line" has never represented an international boundary. ") I have not heard one world leader EVER say this. Without that stamp of approval it does not matter. On the world stage truth means nothing. So what is left when truth is not spoken and lies are spoken and perpetuated? And there lies the rub.
13. Have you alrady heard an hospice conversation
keren ,   sao paulo   (05.25.06)
among mads? It goes like this: "If Hamas accepts Israel's right to exist, renouce terrorism,then..." Or: "Let's take the Palestinian state on the '67 borders" And they keep repeating the same it's been years;take the same medicines it's been years;but can not get rid of the hospice nor leave it.

yakov shani ,   IL.   (05.25.06)
For once I agree with you because your thinking is reasonable and logical, unfortunately that of our adversaries is not. I also see this as a step in the right direction, but again with the Pals it is usually a case of one step forward and two steps backward. My opinion on the possible outcome is not very positive, because we have only one precondition, lay down your arms, a reasonable one, they have many preconditions, unreasonable ones.
20. Pals choice: Jordan Palestine, or part of J &S, and Gaza
David ,   Boston, USA   (05.25.06)
There will be NO more ethnic cleansing of Jews from Judea and Samaria. Pals have choice. They can live with 80+% of Jordan Palestine and Gaza and part of Judea and Samaria or can live with NOTHING. There are no 67 borders and never will be. Never let Jerusalem be occupied by Arabs or any other invader again.
21. Stop dreaming and take what we can get now" is....
Andy   (05.25.06)
the most sensible thing I have heard from the Palestinians in years. It a positive step.
22. Ms. Goldwater: does name calling....
Andy   (05.25.06)
make your positions any stronger? Or does it just make you feel good? I agree with some of your postings, but your tone is gratuitously nasty. Why is that? All ynet readers feel immense pasion for or against Israel and the dispute with the Palestinians. But there will be a solution one day -- with a strong and secure Israel and hopefully a productive Palestinian state.
23. 'We must take what we can get now'

24. LONG LIVE ABBAS!
Ramzi Sfeir ,   Bethlehem, Palestine   (05.25.06)
Mr. President Mahmoud Abbas is THE MAN for the mission!HE HAS MY VOTE FOR THE REFERENDUM! Long Live Abbas! Long Live moderation and Long live 1967 Borders! IF THIS PLAN TAKES PLACE, IN TEN DAYS WE WILL BE LIVING IN A DIFFERENT WORLD! A world that looks a lot like the one all the moderates of the world are dreaming about! One small step for Man, A HUGE STEP FOR HUMANITY! Abbas you are the man!
25. 67 " Borders"
Dr D   (05.25.06)
In those far away days there was no border but only an armistice line. After the peace agreements with Egypt and Jordan Israel have Borders with them only. The final borders with the future Palestinian State will be agree only after a painful for all negotiation . The problem is that the Palestinian want it all and the Israelis don't. So where to start?
26. Yaalon Et Al Are Lunatics, Yet Very Dangerous Too
Adina kutnicki ,   US   (05.25.06)
Yaalon in his deluded state thinks that Israel should 'divide' Jerusalem and accept Hamas's/Abbas's (same difference) Auschwitz borders. As Abbas clealry stated, the regime should accept reality and take what they can get for NOW. NOW being the operative word. Therefore, Yaalon has NO problem with making it easier down the line for an Islamist terror regime to pounce when the time is 'right/ripe". And he has the gall to call himself enlightened.
27. Abbas and '67 borders
Ronnie ,   Jerusalem   (05.25.06)
There were never any '67 borders other than what Jordan illegally annexed. The borders have always been "disputed borders." Just as all the Arab nations of the world could have easily absorbed the Arab refugees from 1948, the Arabs allowed these fellow Arabs who now call themselves Palestinians (a term made up by Arafat in 1963) to fester in poverty. What happened to the billions that Arafat took from the world to aid in the plight of the "Palestinians"???? And by the way, where was Abbas for 40 years while Arafat was alive? He was by his mentor's side, watching every terrorist attack and clapping his hands for joy. Abbas wears a business suit. Arafat wore the caffia. They are brothers, fellow terrorists. Gullible, desperate, Leftist Jews will grab at any opportunity to believe the lies of Arafat and Abbas. On the dark side, at least Hamas states its agenda truthfully. But they, too, are liars. Why haven't any Hamas children of Hamas leaders strapped bomb belts on themselves? Because their children are all busy out of the middle east, in private schools. Are we suddenly to start believing a liar who stood by his fellow liar's side for 40 years and supported terror against Jews???
28. TO: GABRIELLE GOLDWATER!!
KS ,   Lebanon   (05.25.06)
What the hell are you talking about?? Are you for real? really?? No such thing as the 67 borders?? amazing!! they really have your brain washed to the last drop don't they!! Negotiations to resolve the issue does not mean that there is no such thing as the 67 borders you genius!!! it means that all parties have to have REAL negotiations to settle the issue!! you wanna tell me that the golan heights belong to israel??? are you insane? It is because of people like you, that deny the truth, have no brains whatsoever to construct there own opinions, and swallow and completely digest anything they're told that are the problem!! It is because of people like you that there will never be a solution to this conflict!! So you don't agree with anything Haniyeh has to say, but you also don't agree with anything Abbass has to say!! Hell, that means you don't agree with any single palestinian living on earth!! Tell me how you, the genius, will solve this problem. You obviously don't want a viable palestinian state, and you'd probably wish all the palestinians were dead...!! I bet if they told you that the sun revolves around earth you'd believe them!!
29. leave it too them
eric ,   israel   (05.25.06)
Leave it too the Palestians, they love too shoot themselves in the foot.Thats there culture, thats there way.Peace is not a word they know and that is a pity. Eric
30. Gabby at it again - you make no sense.
Khalid   (05.25.06)
"The so called "Green Line" has never represented an international boundary." So what?! It will represent international boundary on a FUTURE peace deal between the parties, who cares if it didn't represent a border in the past. "The 1949 armistice agreements specifically refer to this fact." So you're telling us that in 1949 they agreed that the 1967 border lines were not legitimate? Wow, that's some impressive fortune-telling! And these guys can't find peace in the region!!??
