1. Look At What Olmert Did NOT Say
Adina Kutnicki ,   US   (05.25.06)
Listen up lovers of Israel - nowhere in his speech did he say that Jerusalem will NOT be divided. He said Israel will 'guard the holy sites, allow freedom of religion etc. Read between the line folks.
2. The Temple Mount
Paal Olstad ,   Oslo, Norway   (05.25.06)
That same moment the call was heard – 'Temple Mount is ours'. But it is not. Not as long as the muslim present exists there. Remove it. Destroy the mosques, build the Temple. Paal Olstad, Oslo, Norway.
3. #1 Jerusalem is not Gaza, It will never be parted, NEVER

Caligula's Horse ,   Solomon's stables   (05.25.06)
5. JEWS ARRESTED if they PRAY on Jewish TEMPLE MOUNT
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (05.25.06)
Article: "We will guard the holy places and allow freedom of religion. It has never been so open and lively," said Olmert in his speech.: Jews are arrested if they pray or are suspected of praying on the Temple Mount ! Judaism's holiest site - the holiest site in the world. There is NO FREEDOM OF RELIGION for Jews in the Jewish Holy Land!
6. ETERNAL CITY-JERUSALEM-The Heart & Soul of the JEWISH People
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (05.25.06)
Israel's most famous king, king David founded Jerusalem. Reigious Jews pray three times a day in the direction of Jerusalem. Jerusalem is mentioned constantly in prayers. Passover Seder ends with: "Next year in Jerusalem!" And at the conclusion of Yom Kippur. Jerusalem is mentioned in the blessings at the end of meals. During Jewish wedding ceremonies, the groom breaks a glass as a sign of mourning of the destruction of the two Temples, accompanied by Psalm 137: "If I forget you, O Jerusalem, may my right hand forget her skill. May my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth if I do not remember you, if I do not exalt Jerusalem above my chief joy." During the First and Second Temple periods, the Temple was the central focus of Jewish life. The First Temple was built by King David's son, King Solomon. 2 Chronicles 2:4:"Behold, I am about to build a house for the name of the L-RD my G-d, dedicating it to Him, to burn fragrant incense before Him and to set out the showbread continually...on sabbaths and on new moons and on the appointed feasts of the L-RD our G-d, this being required forever in Israel." The great, the mighty and the awesome G-D of the universe returned Jewish Holy Land and holy places to the Jews in the 1967 Six Day War. The response of Israeli leaders was shocking. They gave control of Judaism's holiest site, the Temple Mount to Muslims. There are no words to describe this terrible offense - this terrible betrayal of the Ruler of the universe, the Holy One of Israel. Control of Jewish land and the HOLIEST site on earth, the Temple Mount, has been given by Israel's leaders to the enemies of Israel. Bringing down upon Jews ever increasing terror, death and war.
7. it is the heart of the matter
Fares ,   Cleveland   (05.26.06)
the israelis need to answer the question as follow : do you want peace or not . there will be no peace without Jerusalem and walls are built to be taken down . 1.4 billion Muslims will eat you alive if you play with that subject .
8. The Al-Aqsa Mosque will last forever
Muhammad-Ali ,   Montreal   (05.26.06)
9. jerusalem - the city no G-d wanted
claire shapiro ,   gold coast,australia   (05.26.06)
let's try in the 40th year of unification of Jerusalem to find a way fwd for peace among brothers - be it muslim, jewish or christian. May Jerusalem reign as a city of peace for all peoples of all creeds- not to bargain it as G-d's city for Jews only.
10. Can anyone trust him?
jason white ,   afula,israel   (05.26.06)
I do not trust him. He would give away Jerusalem in a heartbeat. There is nothing that he will not do to appease the terrorists and the rest of the world. he thinks that his going to hajj bush and addressing the congress, then going to eurabia weill make him a statesman. It will not.He is only going to see politicians who have the good of the palis in mind and the destruction of Israel in their hearts.
11. Agree to an Arab City
Joe Levi ,   Los Angeles USA   (05.26.06)
First, I am a 100% Zionist and love my spiritual homeland, Israel. However, it is easy for the Riveras of this world to be back seat drivers, while Israel burns. Israel is a miniscule country with a smaller population, surrounded by 300m Arabs and growing. 1.3 Muslims are AGAINST ANYTHING ISRAEL DOES. Israel therefore should not make things worse for itself. Jews praying on the Mount is not necessary for Israel to retain most of Jerusalem in any final settlement. I find it odd, that 110,000 Satmar Jews, and many Yeshiva types (in Israel) don't recognize Israel at all, or have a silly view of it's existence. Sharon, Begin, Shamir, Dayan, BenGurion and now Olmert, were doing an impossible job there..let's keep this thing plausible, Miss Rivera. I ask, when did you last defend Israel's interests physically?
12. fares
ash ,   gush etzion   (05.26.06)
its interesting that fares wants walls to be taken down, yet wants jerusalem to be divided again. if jerusalem is divided there will be a big ugly wall going down the middle of the city like under the jordanians. and once again jews and christians will not be able to reach their holy sites. that is what fares is saying. walls israel builds are bad, walls arabs build are good.
13.  # 8 Barak 747
yakov shani ,   IL.   (05.26.06)
Yes, unfortunately, it probably will. It has no right to be there in the first place. An excuse for a fabricated fairy tale about winged horses in the jet age circa 720, Mecca,Jerusalem and a meeting with Alla, all in the one day, not bad for the year 720. Your Prophet must have had Boeing in mind, clever guy.
14. 8 Muhammad-Ali: as usual posts BS

15. 12 ash, gush etzion : You figured Fares out
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (05.26.06)
16. #7 fares
gm ,   south africa   (05.26.06)
I don't think you have paid much attention to anything in the last 60 years. The Jews will have Jerusalem. That is not a negotiating point. All the arabs want is Jerusalem. I can't imagine why they would want it. The only reasn i can think of is that if muslims have Jerusalem, it means the Jews don't and then you are happy. You just want what Jews have only because Jews have it, not cos you really want it. Admit it.
17. illusions and ideology.
Shai ,   T-A   (05.26.06)
As usual, obviously, none of the people here cares to see the reality beyond the slogans : to go to east jerusalem, to Sala'Eldin st, for instance and to see that Jerusalem IS DIVIDED. Two cities carefully segregated with different languages, different public services (pathetic on the palestinian side). Sorry, gents, there is a real world outside!
18. Jerusalem is divided today
Simon David ,   London UK   (05.27.06)
Anyone who thinks otherwise has never been east of the Damascus Gate. Example : A (Jewish) friend recently had a nightmare trying to get a diplomatic colleague, who had had a serious heart attack, transfered from a hospital in East J'lem to the West. The two health systems dont talk to each other - it is in practice 2 different countries. West J'lem taxis wouldnt go to the east and the east J'lem hospital didnt have an ambulance ("security reasons"). So Alma had to collect the dying man in her car, physically drive him through the invisible Berlin wall to west Jerusalem, and bluff / threaten her way past the west Jlem admissions clerk. Jerusalem IS TWO CITIES. Get over it. All we need is a form of words to describe the status quo.
19. 18, nonsense
Ari   (06.02.06)
I have personally taken cabs from and to both east and west parts of jerusalem. You're full of crap.
20. jerusalem for all
nour safa ,   alexandria, egypt   (06.20.06)
may al qods be what Allah intended -a place where peace would blanket a city - not for blood to be spilt by the martyrs on both sides.
21. Wrong statment.
israeli ,   jerusalem, israel   (10.10.06)
