91. question
Slawomir Spiolek ,   Bydgoszcz, Poland   (05.31.06)
Is any criticism of the state of Israel an antisemitism? I respect Jews but don`t understand a lot of movements of the Israel`s gouverment. Best regards. Hi
92. jim #53
KAPARA   (06.01.06)
Jim, genious, I want to go back to iraq and get my property back. but I can't. because jews are not allowed to immigrate back into iraq. You see, there is a big apartheid wall around iraq....and iran....and syria, saudi arabia, yemen, jordan, etc. Are you going to protest those countries for refusing to allow jews/christians to immigrate to arab countries? Or have you always held jews to a higher level of accountability and responsibility? Is it that you just don't think arabs are capable of becoming accountable? So why bother, just go after the jews??? You are a moron.
93. Rachel Giora's support of Boycott
premilla dixit ,   USA   (06.01.06)
Professor Giora is an honest human being. May all of Israel rise to the standard of essential humanity she sets. A complete global boycott of Israel is now very appropriate--the State has invited it upon itself with its runaway inhumanity.
94. Intellectuals hate Israel
Foley ,   England   (06.01.06)
It would seems that creams of western elite do not like what Israel is currently doing. This boycott means that Israelis have plenty to worry about. Israelis are losing respect in the world. When intellectuals begins to dislike you, than self examination is urgently needed.

prophet bob ,   erehwon, amerika   (06.01.06)
Move back to your pre-1967 borders and relenquish Arab Jerusalem. Only then can you rejoin the world as a civilized nation and be treated as such.
96. Boycott of Israel by British Teachers
John Campbell ,   England   (06.01.06)
I was most heartened to hear that British teachers had voted to boycott Israeli academic institutions. I recommend shunning and cold shouldering Israel at every opportunity. We must keep reminding them that large parts of the world are against them.
97. #91 TO SLAWOMIR
gabriela ben ari ,   jerusalem   (06.01.06)
YES Antiisraeli is EQUAL to antisemite Fashions about hating jews change all the time. The new one now is antizionist or antiisraeli. After WWII antisemitism turned into a bad word. But some people feel exactly the same contempt for jews as they did then, thus they found a new expression to vent the SAME hatred which , they think, might arise less contemp from "media"

slawomir ,   Bydgoszcz   (06.01.06)
So Israel`s government and Israel`s army can do antime anywhere anything and international community can not express criticism to that? It is quite strange for me. When Americans do wrong one can talk about it. When Russians do wrong one can talk about it. When Poles do wrong one can so. Do Jews never do wrong? The world is changing and Israel can not think it is a special state which is beyond international law. I just can`t understand that a great Nation of Israel, which was closed during WWII behind walls of ghetto`s now is building another wall and close itself in another huge ghetto. Szalom.

go back to your books - study - grow up and keep out of Israeli affairs which are none of yours you are not even showing one ounce of brains Now get facts into your little brain: We know you have a problem with factual historical past FACTS: The so called Green Line (67 Armistice Line) has never been a border - but ARMISTICE LINE Peace agreement with Egypt - are also only based on ARMISTICE LINES Peace agreement signed with Jordan also only based only on ARMISTICE LINES Israel to this day has NO Borders with any neighbors - ONLY ARMISTICE LINES There is nothing in international law that requires a Palestinian State between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean - not even the UN Partition Resolution of Nov. 29, 1947. (study the partition plan) Resolutions 242 and 338, which call for NEGOTIATIONS ONLY on a "withdrawal from territories" (not "withdrawal from THE territories" - recognize the intentional wording of only saying TERRITORIES) captured in 1967, are similarly "recommendations." These resolutions were drawn up under the UN Charter's Clause VI, which deals with NON - MANDATORY RECOMMENDATIONS - as opposed to Clause VII resolutions, "which are mandatory, and which deal with a threat to world peace, such as those taken against Iraq." All Resolutions considering Israel are always falling in this term under Charter Clause VI - Only ever Recommendations. Charter VI - is ALWAYS only recommendations - NOT Law. In general the UN is not a body that legally can enforce any laws. Constitutional Law of any Sovereign State - ALWAYS over-rules legally any UN trial to want to set laws. ALSO: Israel White Paper – Israel's Legal Rights to Judea, Samaria, and Gaza http://www.israelwhitepaper.org/ "According to international law," "Israel has full right to try to populate the entire Land of Israel with dense Jewish settlement, and thus actualize the principles set by the League of Nations in the original Mandate Charter of San Remo in 1920. The most relevant fact is, the Arabs cannot make no demands under any of ALL for the simple reason: ........The fact that the Arab states did not accept the Partition Plan, voids the recommendation of any legal basis............. Arabs refused ALL and any of the Partition plan then - so legally that was off the table then - since they chose to attack Israel instead - but suddenly now want to reverse to the times of the Partition Plan ? Legally this is off the table for the Arabs and cannot be reversed. The only real issue left for Arabs who were the LOSERS IN ALL WARS - THEY STARTED against Israel - The Loser (Arabs) is trying to negotiate with the party Israel that was the victor. A victor legally sets normally the setting of possible negotiations - and not the loser. Example: When Germany lost the war W.W.II - It was NOT Germany who was legally able to set the arguments or demands. Now: Armistice agreement did not set the permanent border between Israel and a future Arab State in the WB - better known as Judea and Samaria. In any of these past resolutions there was never once the question or talk of a separate Palestine - or Palestinian State. There was only ever talk about Arabs - never Palestinians - They did not exist in legal language. Armistice = always only ARMISTICE ............ Definition: ....A break in fighting: A truce in a war to discuss terms for peace ..... So Armistice lines anywhere in the world - are legally never a border ...... but a Line of cease fire Now start to under facts

Try looking up the definition of semite or semitic, before you try to counter a valid point, you might make better use of your time. The fact that people generally use the word anti-semitic to mean something (other than the correct meaning), doesn't mean that it is an applicable definition.
101. Gabby don't try your twisted zionist
prophet bob ,   erehwon, amerika   (06.01.06)
logic on me. Call them truce lines or whatever you want. MOVE BACK to the truce lines of May 1967. Follow the guidlines that the UN set up for the "nation" of israel to exist, which by the way includes the right of Palestinians to move back into "israel" and reclaim the property and homes zionists stole from them. That or give them just compensation. Give up Arab Jerusalem. Only then might israel be able to rejoin the civilized nations of the world.

there is a vacancy at Portsmouth university in the UK. I shall have a word with my good friend Miss Ellen who in good keeping with red and pinko traditions will see that you get the job. The British Academic Union will surely welcome you to their ranks and I have no doubt that within a short time you would be proposed as President. Good riddance and bye bye !

"How about you first bring democracy to your people before you criticize mine." How do you know this person is not trying? "I think I just saw your sister cheating on her husband so why not go and do your "honorable" family killing..." You realize you're talking to an imaginary person and not the poster you actually attempted to respond to, right?

Disrespect and ignoring the terrorism - murder and mayhem - lynching committed by Palestinian Arabs ? I don't want to go into Polish anti-Semitism - since it would take too much space and don't come with excuses - we can remember Poland and it's past towards Jews. just another voice   (06.02.06)
to dismiss all critics of israel's policies as anti-semetic is a disgrace. people should be free to condemn government policy without being lambasted as anti-semetic. to not permit such freedom would be to allow a fascist regime to continue by silencing opposition. if i were to criticise us policy, i would not be a racist. if i was to criticise palistinian policy, i would not be a racist. if i was to criticise chinese policy, i would not be a racist. but if i criticise israeli policy, i am?! iraq was in breech of 16 un resolutions when the us invaded. israel are in breech of 48. this isn't about religion, race, colour or creed. this is about government policy, and israel's is wrong.

Did you actually read my posting before your ignorant and ill-advised rant? The reason why I don’t list my name is because I am aware that I will be called an anti-semite by ingnorami like yourself, without a proper understanding of what the word means. How can the word anti-semitic refer to discrimination against Jewish peoples when the vast majority of semitic peoples are non-Jewish and Arabic in origin (Look it up). I have explained before and will explain again, I don’t care what it says in your dictionary, the common usage of that word is incorrect. Please tell me how the word semite means one thing and the word anti-semite means something other than being against semitic people, do you have any understanding of what constitutes proper language structure or are you genuinely ignorant? In addition, my age is unimportant, I have a PhD, if you think that you are more academically qualified than I, please list your qualifications, otherwise do not jump to conclusions without basis, do your research and actually try to listen to what people have to say before making a judgment. I’m sure you’ll come back with another pointless comment, but please this time address this point specifically “How can the word anti-semitic refer to discrimination against Jewish peoples when the vast majority of semitic peoples are non-Jewish and Arabic in origin” and tell me how it isn’t prejudiced to only comment on the discrimination against one group of people, who are part of a much larger group, who are also being discriminated against.

All kinds of terrorism are abominable. I agree terrorism is barbaric and against humanity and civilisation. Yes. I should express my condemnation to that. OK. But I set only few questions and received no answers. Insted of answers I get a reminder, that as a Pole I am anti-Semitic. I don`t hate any people. Any! I respect all nations living on our planet. Generalisations (for example: all Poles hate Jews, all Jews hate Poles, all Poles hate Germans etc.) are simply not true. I like to read books. As a pediatric surgeon I read mostly medical books, but not only. I read about latest history of Israel too. I admire cultural, economic, agricultural and scientific achievements. But in my opinion (not only mine, vide even prof. Tony Judt) coflict betwen Israel and Arab world is not white and black (Israel - good, Arabs - bad). You wrote about terrorism. Be precise. Count Bernadotte murder, the bombing of the King David Hotel, Altalena affair, war crimes (Arabs from Lod, Golani Brigade and massacre in Ilaboun, Hula, 89 baon of 8th Brigade in Dawayama, Deir Yassin) are also black sites of this conflict. Spiral of hate! I would like you understand, that I am not supporting Arab terrorism. 112. Greetings from Dr Mengele
Dr Mengele ,   Hell   (06.03.06)
Few days ago few innocent people of Semitic race were murdered: Muhand Aman 7-year-old, Naima Aman, 27, Hanan Aman, 46, were killed by the State of Israel when a rocket hit their car in the busy city centre. The order for the murder of these people was issued by the Attorney General of Israel when he approved the application of IDF to kill someone else. Killing of the innocent people was approved by this “very morally concious indyvidual” under the clause of “collateral damage”. The size of the rockets to be dropped in the busy district, their numbers, was also approved with the full force of the law of the State of Israel. ---------- I like when people talking about moral values, especially someone like Gabriella from beautiful Switzerland, who suggested that criticism of Israel is not allowed by people living in some locations. Unfortunately from my place where I live I didn’t see Gabriella protesting against the murder of the innocent people by the State of Israel. I didn’t see anyone in the State of Israel protesting against it either…. Is that true, no one of you protested ??????

You asked a question and got an honest answer. That fact is that you intended to voice your own opinions. Nothing to do with the answer plain and simple. WHAT THE HELL HAS "DOING WRONG" WITH THE FACT THAT BEING ANTIISRAELI IS BEING ANTISEMITIC???? That was not YOUR question (read it again) and that was NOT my answer. Either stick to the point or shut up
114. to gabriela ben ari
Slawomir ,   Bydgoszcz   (06.05.06)
Thank you for "the honest answer". In my opinion good-tempered and argumentative criticism of the politics of the Israel IS NOT ANTIISRAELI and NOT ANTISEMITIC!! You just can`t command to everybody: "SHUT UP".

If you ask a question get your answer, nobody said you cannot offer criticism. Yo asked if a=b or not??? Plain as that Then you attacked me that if a=b then that should mean that you cant speak about israel///???!!!!! Incorrect conclusion. CLEAR AND SIMPLE Say your say just dont invent what others mean when they answer you appart from what the they wrote PERIOD Did I asked EVERYONE to shut up?? Or is it yet another lie of yours????

"Is any criticism of the state of Israel an antisemitism?" That was my question. You answered: "YES Antiisraeli is EQUAL to antisemite". I understand, that in your opinion any criticism of Israel is antiisraeli and antisemitic. "Then you attacked me that if a=b then that should mean that you cant speak about israel///???!!!!!". Yes. I can speak about Israel, but can`t express criticism. If I do you will automatically say I am antisemitic. Am I wrong?

You made an excellent point. It's been said that the Palestinians had the "good fortune" to be involved in a conflict with Jews. Had their adversaries been anybody else, they would have been consigned to the trash heap of history a long time ago.
