1. Barghouti - Oy Vey
Jeff ,   Cherry Hill, NJ USA   (06.01.06)
Let him out now, later or never? Are hopes placed on Barghouti to be the Arab Ghandi? He has about 15 more years to stew in jail before he may become the Arab Mandela. But If he is let out too soon, will be Arafat Jr. or worse. What to do with him? Remember how he wept when taken into custody?
2. Peculiar Story
Dovy ,   Toronto   (06.01.06)
Something is wrong with this story, which sounds like disinformation spin. Just recently both Hamas and IJ representatives said their people in prison knew nothing of this proposal. Furthermore, why would IJ refer to the prisoners as having some kind of special greatness and dedication to change the values of the entire movement, to the exclusion of its official leadership? Something smells fishy about this report.......
3. Islamic Jihad Doesn't Accept Document
Dovy ,   Toronto   (06.01.06)
From palestine-info.co.uk Daily News Islamic Jihad disowns prisoners' document By May 30, 2006, 18:35 Gaza - Prisoners of the Islamic Jihad in Israeli jails have disowned the alleged prisoners' document that the PLO and Fatah faction wanted to be the basis for the ongoing Palestinian national dialogue, adding that they have no knowledge whatsoever about it, and that it doesn’t bind them. The Islamic Jihad inmates clarified that the document was "compromising Palestinian national constants" as it completely recognizes the "international legitimacy" resolutions that grants legitimacy to the Israeli occupation of the 1948-occupied Palestinian lands. In a statement they issued Monday and a copy of which was obtained by the PIC, the detainees in question said that they have no information about the document, and that they have just heard about it through media apparatuses. "We have no doubt about the sincerity of the document signatories who believed from their point of view that it was in favor of the Palestinian people; yet, we have some reservations on the paper", the inmates pointed out, emphasizing that the Movement's political leadership was the sole authority responsible for taking political stands and decisions. Hamas' prisoners had earlier disowned the document, saying political decisions and stands of the Movement were left to its political leadership. Meanwhile, a number of Palestinian captives in the Israeli Damon prison were wounded during an IOF storming of their wards as they were beaten with batons. The prisoner support society deprecated the assault, saying that Israeli jail guards were assaulting the prisoners even for trivial reasons, urging international and local human rights and legal organizations to protect the inmates from the IOF "barbarism". For his part, PA minister of prisoners' affairs Wasfi Qabaha affirmed that the PA government and his ministry was giving more attention to the prisoners question being one of the most important issues on the political agenda of the government, adding that the detainees were equally treated by the government and the ministry's officials regardless of their political affiliations. Qabaha further emphasized that financial allocations of the inmates were equally distributed without favoritism as was the practice during the past PA government, insisting that the prisoners themselves can testify for such a fact. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- © Copyright 2003 by palestine-info.co.uk email: webmaster@palestine-info.info

8. Too Late, Jihadis: Your State Is Jordan
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (06.01.06)
You could have had a state here in 1937 (the Peel Plan). You chose violence instead. You could have had a state here in 1948 (UN 181). You chose violence instead. You could have had a state here from 1948-1967, when we didn't rule OUR Judea, Samaria, and Gaza. You chose violence instead. After the Six Day War, you could have had a state here. You chose violence instead. You could have had a state here in 2000 via Oslo. You chose violence instead. Now you won't have a state here at all, and if you don't stop your violence, you will face the mother of all naqbas. Your state is Jordan. Take it or leave it: http://www.therightroadtopeace.com/eng/defaulteng.html
9. Been there..was Oslo, too late...go back to Jordan Palestine
David ,   Boston   (06.01.06)
What a joke. Terrorists say whatever they want. Truth is they have no concept of history, honor, care about feeding their family or providing a future. Let them go back to Jordan Palestine. They have stolen enough land and lives.
10. ISRAEL Use their Prison For HAMAS RALLY FOR JIHAD
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (06.01.06)
Israel's leaders continue to demonstrate their sympathies are not with Jewish victims. Their sympathies are with Islamic terrorist killers. Israel gave the use of an Israeli prison to promote jihad against Israel's Jewish innocents. For some unknown and terrible reason, Israel's leaders continue to give every indication that they want Israel's barbaric enemies to win. www.jerusalempost.com May. 18, 2006 14:19 | Updated May. 20, 2006 16:20 Another Tack: Lifers here and there By SARAH HONIG ...Israeli prisons are indeed unique. Not only do the most dangerous terrorists therein get hold of phones, but recently Hamas overtly conducted a mass rally in a southern Israeli maximum-security penitentiary, where scores of convicts congregated in the courtyard, which they festooned with Hamas Islamic-green banners and Palestinian flags. A stage and speakers' rostrum were erected. The backdrop decor was a giant collage, displaying the Hamas emblem, portraits of Hamas leaders, slogans calling for Jihad against Israel and pictures of RPGs underscored by the motto "we'll continue." White plastic chairs were neatly arranged for the "audience," who cheered the invective hurled at the Zionist state and freely photographed the occasion - all under the disinterested eyes of passive Israeli wardens. The snapshots are available for viewing on the Web. Terrorist lifers in Israel don't expect to end their existence in captivity...

15. document calls for 4 million Palestinians coming to Israel
Dan Johnson ,   USA   (06.01.06)
Read the document closely. It calls for 2 Palestinian states. The document calls for 4 million Palestinians to go to Israel. Islamic Jihad is in panic over the wall. This is why Olmert is right. Finish the wall and keep the Arab murderers out.

19. worthless words, worthless paper
Marcel ,   Florida   (06.01.06)
Why is it that Israel falls for lies, false promises and empty words instead of judging the jihadists on their actions ? Every time there is a new document the delusional Jews fall over themselves to fall again into another delusion of more lies and false promises. What will it take for you to get it ? Your enemy wants to anihalate you and will never change The peace process is a trap meant to weaken and dismember you into bite size portions for your enemy.
20. Palestinians are crying for peace
Ellen Prescott ,   Southsea, Hampshire   (06.01.06)
But, as we all know, those who rally for peace are quickly silenced and/or labelled as terrorists. Israel must immediately withdraw to the Green line, abandon any illegal outpost and settlement. The Wall built within Palestine must be demolished. Palestinian refugees must be able to return to the homes whence they were expelled: that is the only solution.

one of your leaders chose to believe Hitler when he said: Just give us the Sudentenland." It's called appeasement. The Palestinians are cryhing for peace only for outside consuption; among themselves, they are crying for blood. I think you know this to be the case, unless you are living on another planet.
25. Nice, but not enough
J K ,   NYC, USA   (06.01.06)
The dominos here falling towards agreement on 1967 lines as the be-all end-all of negotiations is nice, and a move in the right direction for the Arabs, but for as much as they complain about Israel making land plays, this is a Palestinian land play. UNSCR 242 states in plain writing that there is to be negotiaion on 'territories' conquered in 1967, no 'THE territories' which would of course lend credence to Palestinian demands and their latest 'peace overtures'. However, since the framers of 242 were quicte clear in their wording (if ambiguity), we can at least surmise that they meant Israel was not intended to hand back 100% of everything they won outright. It was actually intended to go back to Jordan and Egypt who have since renounced all claims to this land, leaving it pretty much with no status. Israel will negotiate, but the Palestinians dont get that presently they are at 0% in the WB. They can demand 100% all they want, but it wont happen. Their claim that for everything it will all be over is nice, but nonsense
26. #20 Ellen - Have you ever been there?
Robby ,   San Jose, USA   (06.01.06)
"Israel must... the wall must .... only solution". Have you ever in been to Israel? Were you elected by the Palestinians or the Israelis? Have you ever been to "Area A"? The Palestinians don't even know which entity speaks for them. Maybe living in academia has gotten to you, or just plain bigotry - aren't you being just a bit egotistical?
27. Will Israel's Leaders Pay Attention To Mass Murdering Terror
Adina kutnicki ,   US   (06.01.06)
Ask me if I give what Barghouti thinks. As a master terrorist serving life in prison, who died and made him king? (Israel's security services have) In any event, this plan is exactly a duplicate of the phased plan. ANY Israeli leader who agrees to this should be jailed immediately for treason.

What are you talking about? Are you out of your mind? Have you learned history? Most refugees were "Adviced" by their Arab bretheren to Leave / Run (out of) Israel becuase the nexet day they would back... These people are Animals(look how they treat their own people), Murderers, Peasants, etc. They had a chance to be settled among their Brother's countries. We are the Refugees who have returned to OUR HOME. These people live in times Centuries Ago; Their Mentality belongs to the 7th Century(Muhamad, if you didn't know...); No More advancement from that point. Your way is Suicide; If you are Jewish, what are you doing in the US; Go & live with Your Cousins; There you'll enjoy their way of life... The wall is here to stay; that's how we keep Animals out of OUR LAND. Even in the 50's, the Arabs used to come from the West Bank & steal, with the cover of night. You're a 5th Column, an insult to Jewery(if you're one...).
