1. Excellent!
Ellen Prescott ,   Southsea, Hampshire   (06.04.06)
The Palestinians, being a nation under occupation, have a legal right and moral obligation to attack their occupier's military. I hope the resistance to the occupation only increases until the Israelis finally realise the crimes against humanity that they have and are committing. Israel: abide by international will and immediately withdraw to the 1967 borders, let Palestinian refugees return to the homes whence they were savagely expelled, make financial, political and social reparations to the Palestinian people, stop stealing Palestinian water, tear down the apartheid wall, and end your racist, exclusionary 'chosen people' dogma.
2. Gaza pull-out really works

3. "World shall see our new military capabilities"
G. ,   Antwerp   (06.04.06)
If you even think of defying OUR capabilities then You haven't seen Nothing yet. Always keep in mind that your future home might be somewhere in the Sinai and your lunch with pita + rocks and sand ...Hamas my ass..
4. There are people dying in Africa-who cares!!!!!!
Mellen Pespott ,   Spamshire   (06.04.06)
The State Department's estimate of deaths in Darfur was 60,000 to 160,000. I wish the UN supported these true victims rather than other undeserving peoples who have exported the art of suicide boming from the streets of gaza to the coast of canada.
5. I will have to say
atmawi ,   Historic Palestine   (06.04.06)
Thanks Sharoon for building the Wall, finally we the natives do not need to send sucide bumbers any more. Why to sacrify our beloved teens? Equation is very just, and morally accepted to the moderate world: We as Sharoon said "under occupation", and we as International body legistlated in Geneve "Have all the right to resist occupation". Fair is fair. Do not kill ours we will not kill yours Do not take our land, and we wil grant you a truce, a very long one (100 year truce). Leave us alone, and we need nothing from you.
6. thank you "ethical" leftists
Moshe ,   Beit Shemesh   (06.04.06)
for having "mercy" on the Palestinians and giving them guns for "self-determinations." The penalty for your "ethics" is being paid in our children's blood. LEFTISTS = BRAIN DEAD MORONS
7. Ignorance is Bliss for Ellen
Daniel ,   Washington DC USA   (06.04.06)
Blah blah blah blah blah 1967 borders, blah blah Israeli occupiers.... Ellen you're very critical yet you have no sense of history or you are just plain anti-Jewish or perhaps you're just dumb. In 1948 the arabs violated ISRAELI borders and a green line was established. This whole "occupation" is a ruse used by arabs and anti-Jewish/anti-Israel people to try and sway public opinion. Too bad it's worked with you so well. If you want to start returning "occupied land" why not give up Northern Ireland? How about the Malvinas (you call them the Falklands). The UK has been the biggest "occupier" in the history of the world since ROME. So here's the reality check...Perhaps if Hamas uses one of these rockets effectively Israel will declare war and finally solve the problem. It's time for an ultimatum issued from Israel. "Here are your borders. Do NOT cross them. Do NOT expect assitance from us with your infrastructure, schools, food, or any other means. Rely on yourselves for once. ANY violation of the new borders is an act of war." Then give the "Palasatinians" the land Israel deems appropriate and seal them in to it. (I believe it comes to about 92% of the land for which the Palestinians are aksing. Not a bad deal)
8. What is happening in Darfur is nothing compared wth Gaza
Ellen Prescott ,   Spamshire   (06.04.06)
9. To Ellen Prescontt
Barry ,   Tel Aviv   (06.04.06)
These are the same people who want to see you dead as well, dearie. Besides, you are a perfect example of the pot calling the kettle black. How many countries did England invade? how many people were executed for fighting the British? How many people had their homes and land stolen? And how much reparations have the British paid (easy answer here - not a penny). Get your own concience in order before you mouth off about aother countries, dearie. Because Israel is the best defense against those islamists who want YOU dead.

12. If only they were man enough
russel ,   Tlv   (06.04.06)
Ellen If only your pal friends were man enough to fight our military resistance would be acceptable. Instead we are left to step between body parts and wade through blood shed by cowardly suicide bombers who revel in killing civilians.

19. Rocket attack
Brod ,   USA   (06.04.06)
If the terrorists think they can shoot their rockets at Israel, then they should be prepared to absorb rockets from Israel in return.
20. 1 Ellen: You shout excellent when Jews get hurt -HATE MONGER
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (06.04.06)
why do you ignore LEGAL Facts - because YOU Hate Jews and Israel - you are a war and Hate Monger: When Jews get hurt you shout - EXCELLENT - 1) Occupation only applies under International Law - vis-a-vis the territory of another SOVEREIGN STATE.... You can legally only occupy another State that was under different Sovereignty at the time of occupation - which does not apply to the PA Territories since they were not part of any Sovereign State .... Jordan and Egypt never had annexed any territories to become the sovereign of same, when Israel regained it's territories in a self-defense war. Therefore Legally Judea and Samaria (ancient historical Jewish land) are unassigned territories of the British Mandate for Palestine not "occupied territories." 2) Israeli presence in Yesha does not constitute "occupation," and moreover, that the U.N. Partition Resolution of 1947 is a "recommendation" and not obligatory. "Up until 1948, Judea, Samaria and Gaza were a part of the British Mandate. In the 1948 War of Independence, Egypt illegally grabbed the Gaza Strip, and Jordan took Judea and Samaria, the 'West Bank.' Egypt did not claim sovereignty in Gaza, but Jordan deigned, in 1950, to annex Judea and Samaria. This annexation was not recognized by international law. The Arab nations objected to it, In 1967, after the Six Day War, these territories - which were originally meant for the Jewish Nation's National Home according to the Mandate Charter - returned to Israeli control." in 1988, King Hussein of Jordan rescinded its legal and administrative ties to Judea and Samaria. "According to international law," "Israel has full right to try to populate the entire Land of Israel with dense Jewish settlement, and thus actualize the principles set by the League of Nations in the original Mandate Charter of San Remo in 1920. At that time, the mandate to the Land of Israel was granted to the British, and the introduction to the mandate charter states clearly that it is based on the international recognition of the historic ties between the Jewish People and the Land of Israel. Clause II of that mandate charges Britain with 'ensuring the existence of political, administrative, and economic conditions that will guarantee the establishment of the Jewish national home in the Land of Israel.'" "Even the White Paper of 1922," emphasized the Jewish Nation's rights to the national home in the Land of Israel - while at the same time tearing away almost 80% of the mandate's area on the eastern side of the Jordan and giving it to Emir Abdullah." There is nothing in international law that requires a Palestinian state between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean - not even the UN Partition Resolution of Nov. 29, 1947. The fact that the Arab states did not accept the Partition Plan, voids the recommendation of any legal basis. Resolutions 242 and 338, which call for negotiations and a "withdrawal from territories" (not "withdrawal from THE territories") captured in 1967, are similarly "recommendations." These resolutions were drawn up under the UN Charter's Clause VI, which deals with non-mandatory recommendations - as opposed to Clause VII resolutions, "which are mandatory, and which deal with a threat to world peace, such as those taken against Iraq." If by chance you don't understand Intl. Law - you should take a lawyer and file for arbitration and explanations with the T.M.C. Asser Institute on Intl. Law in the Hague. http://www.asser.nl/index.htm Good Luck ALSO: Israel White Paper – Israel's Legal Rights to Judea, Samaria, and Gaza http://www.israelwhitepaper.org/
21. 5 atmawi: Wrong You are NOT part of the Geneva Convention
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (06.04.06)
FOR THE LAST TIME .... stop ignoring facts we posted over and again - they will NOT change - no matter how many times you post LIES PA and PLO do not constitute a state as defined by the law and applicable to international law because both entities lack a defined territory with a permanent population controlled by a government that has the capacity to enter into foreign relations. 'Palestine' is an amorphous entity whose status remains a question. The drafters failed to anticipate and account for an international armed conflict involving nonstate entities. There is simply no legal argument that can create an accommodation for a nonstate actor in a Convention restricted by the fundamental international law doctrine of sovereign rights-- only states can be bound to treaties, and belligerent occupation rules only apply vis-a-vis the territory of another state. On September 13, 1989, the Swiss Federal Council decided that it could not give valid accession due to the uncertainty and the none existence of a State of Palestine.
22. My last talkback to Ellen was censored
Caligula's Horse ,   Solomon's stables   (06.04.06)
I'll only say that I wished her what she wishes us. Besides that, i'll just say that one day Britain will learn it's lesson the hard way, like Chamberlain did, like Stalin learned on 1941, like the US learned in Pearl harbour, like the US learned on 9/11 and like Europe is starting to understand. You dont play with facism, you dont appease facism, you dont make peace with facism and you dont even sign treaties with it, the only interaction between facism, be it European, Muslim or Asian, and between democracy and freedom, is war until complete annihlation, Germany did not surrender until Soviet soldiers waved the red flag from the reichstag, Japan did not surrender until two of its cities vaporised. Pick your sides, we are at war, you are with us or with them.

27. To 1
Ron ,   Prescott, Hampshire   (06.04.06)
1, look at the news - Israel want to withdraw to 1967 borders with no further delay, but the whole world is against that (including the palestinians) since they want a negotiation process to take place.
28. hate
Marc A Snyder ,   Philadelphia, PA USA   (06.04.06)
Ellen, you obviously hate Jews and israel. Israel with support of good people worldwide, will survive. Let's pray for peace, and not reward homicide bombers to perpetuate the hatred.
29. israeli-palestinian conflict
bagaboo ,   corinth, u.s.a.   (06.04.06)
All of this goes back to the time of abraham. Ishmael(who was the father of the arab tribes) claimed that Isaac(the rigthful heir and father of the twelve tribes of Judea) stole his birthright. So, down through the ages, this bitter war has been fought, because the arabs could not accept it then, they can't accept it now, that they are not the rightful heirs to the holy land. God made a covenant with the jewish peoples, not the arab peoples.
30. A response to "Abu Nidal"
Kate ,   London   (06.04.06)
"bigger warhead makes up for lack of accuracy " What you fail to understand is that if missiles were to land on Tel Aviv, this would be the biggest disaster ever to hit the "Palestinian" people. The whole of Israel would call for your total expulsion from pre and post -1967 borders and no-one including the entire international community would be able to prevent it.
