Regarding your claim that your family have been here since the 4th century; B.S. Hardly anyone of the non-Jews here decend from families that were here before the 1920's and even less of the non-Jews of the former Ottoman Sanjaks that make up Israel decend from anyone here more than 200 years. Never the less, those here who had any type of national awareness which were few believed in Ottoman, Damascan/Syrian or SHAMI nationality and claimed themselves Southern Syrians which is what they are.

36. OCCUPATION
JULIAN DALE THURMAN ,   DALTON, GEORGIA, U.S   (07.17.06)
The root of all the troubles in Israel today is the ILLEGAL occupation. Yes the illegal occupation of Israelite lands by so-called "palestinians". BLESSED BE THE GOD OF ISRAEL!
37. This is really the pot calling the kettle black!
Marlene ,   New York City/USA   (07.19.06)
Absolutely astonishing that Mr. Bedein should complain about discrimination! I thought for a moment it was the discrimination and racism against non-Jews which is the major problem. What does Mr. Bedein have to say about a dual set of laws in the occupied territories, a cruel and brutal one for Palestinians, and a soft and gentle one for Jewish settlers! How about Arab citizens of Israel not being able to fly internally because the machinery broke down at an airport just recently and only Jews could fly! And how did they know who was Jewish and who was not?!! Mr. Bedein...if you really are not an outright hypocrite, then you will speak out about Israeli racism towards non-Jews, which is referring in particular to the Arab community, that is part of Israel's law and policies. Your silence on this matter will verify your hypocrisy and your own racism.
38. The only two populations where there is discrimination
Marlene ,   New York City/USA   (07.19.06)
is between the population of Jewish settlers and Palestinian Arabs which is better known as apartheid and engrained in your laws. The Palestinians live under the mercy of these settlers who can essentially do whatever they want to the Palestinians without any fear of retribution from their own government, and the Palestinians have no protection from many of these fanatic settlers. Sorry Mr. Bedein...but your making complaints about discrimination is as much of a farce as David Duke who once led the KKK complaining about discrimination. (On another note, Mr. Bedein even forgets that according to international law, Israeli settlers and settlements are illegal)
