What a load of crap this article is... Naive propaganda, that's all. "The Iranian regime chains women by forcing them to wear veils in the ugliest fashion – that’s to say, black. Khamanei suggested allowing women to choose more colorful headscarves. “Girls who come out of school and young women leaving university look depressingly gloomy. " Just tonight, on the telly, I watched an Iranian document about plastic surgery in Iran, nose jobs seem to be very popular there, btw. They interviewed girls and boys, women and men about why they would like to have plastic surgery. Sure, women had veils, but not all - instead many were wearing a colourful scarf casually wrapped around their head. And the school girls didn't look at all depressingly gloomy, nor oppressed in any way. Ordinary happy young people, just like girls and boys the same age all over the world. Just normal people with just about the same wishes about being prettier or more handsome, people dealing with problems with their self esteem as almost anyone living in on this planet. Do you honestly think that "a dictatorship by the religious who control every aspect of life" would even allow interviews like this one, with Khomeini's grandson - held under strict surveillance - if it really is a dictatorship or tyranny? Even if we who live in the western world are being fed with constant propaganda/indoctrination about "axis of evil", terror and how great a threat Iran/Iraq/whatever-country-suits-us-best is, surely you Israelians can't be so simple people to actually believe this kind of "news"?
13. it deviated ? perfectly normal
Hiram Al Masry ,   tel aviv   (06.15.06)
It is normal that the " islamic revolution" deviated. What is not normal is that some people could believe that Islamic revolution was compatible with civil liberties and democracy. I do not know of any real democracy operating under Islamic rules. Believing that Islamic regime and democracy are compatible is a total illusion, Islam being " submission to God " . Any fanatic cleric in any Islamic country can turn the best place on earth into a terrible Islamic dictatorship .

I agree with you. Any news coming from Middle East Media Research Institute are usually wrong translated, twisted, quotation taken out of context, with other words - WISHFUL THINKINGS. This international criminal gang of USA, Israel, EXXON an British Petrol have just one goal: Getting their feet again on iranian oilfields! Therefore I can understand the present iranian governement in their aim to stop this threat once and forever.

In a patriarchal world it's not a blessing to be a woman anywhere, not even in Israel. Of course I want Iranian women to have equal rights as Iranian men have. It's just that the US-Israel propaganda about Iran (and other muslim countries) does no good to anybody, it just adds hatred between people. You simply do not gain good by force or evil deeds.

I am not sure I understood what you mean, but ,anyway, what I meant is that Israel's regime has been tyranic against its own people, not against palestinians.I don't think Israel opresses palestinians.

Memri just happens to be owned by two right-wing neo-con Israelis: Meyrav Wurmser, the wife of one of Dick Cheney’s aides (and ex-special assistant to ‘Strap-on’ John Bolton), David Wurmser and former(?) Israeli Military Intelligence officer, Colonel Yigal Carmon. Indeed a look at Wikipedia’ s incomplete staff list seems to suggest a heavy Israeli bias in staffing and at least two more ex-Israeli Military Intelligence people. Still the little red email is sure that’s just a coincidence, as is the fact that the Israeli army (presumably military intelligence) has also used this mistranslation tactic in the past. http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article12949.htm Evidence from Memri's website also casts doubt on its non-partisan status. Besides supporting liberal democracy, civil society, and the free market, the institute also emphasises "the continuing relevance of Zionism to the Jewish people and to the state of Israel". That is what its website used to say, but the words about Zionism have now been deleted. The original page, however, can still be found in internet archives. http://www.guardian.co.uk/elsewhere/journalist/story/0,7792,773258,00.html A typical MEMRI - "translation": The egyptian "Al-Ahram al-arabi" asked in an interview the Mufti of Jerusalem "Hoe do You feel about the Jews" -His answer was deeply racist. But the question was actually: "How dio You feel about the Jews, who beleaguer the Al Aksa Mosque"- the question was about police and armed forces and their strict control - NOT THE "JEWS"!!! Lies and deception - 24hours-service.....

Sorry to let you down by informing you that I'm not a fan of Zundel, I don't deny Holocaust nor am I a Nazi supporter - au contraire. And certainly not Anti-American or Anti-Israel, just not Pro-War and Pro-Violence and Pro-Hate like you seem to be. To me, there just is no difference between Stuermer's propaganda and the wave of propaganda about Iran. It's all about war. War against religion, against race, against human beings. To make you happy: nor does muslim propaganda any good to anybody, it too adds hatred between people. My comment is in context with the article written to add that hatred. I assumed that one would understand without saying that it works both ways. How stupid of me to think so. Do you get my point or are you just satisfied in being so indoctrinated and so deep down into your pro-hate attitude?
