61. Precious calls Kyle a liar
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (06.18.06)
What do you want, Sammy's phone number? My story makes you uncomfortable so you call me a liar. What a great way to have a dialogue.
62. What is this?
Melody ,   Washington State   (06.18.06)
How did we get from the Pride Parade in Jerusalem to Kyle's story? We can express our opinions and beliefs without bashing anyone. No need for rudeness. I would like to remind everyone what happened 2 days before New Orleans Southern Decadence Day, their plans were washed away by Hurricane Katrina. Pray for the PEACE of Israel!
63. Who Lies?
The Golem ,   Los Angeles   (06.18.06)
Sorry, Kyle, you've got it backwards. My post made you uncomfortable, so you created a lie. And why have you kept your alleged attempted seducer's phone number all these years ? So it is clear that the "March of the Modest" is really the "March of Those Who are Righteous in Their Own Eyes and Who Make Stuff Up." Modest people go about their lives doing good and keeping Ha-Shem's Mitsvot to the best of their understanding and ability. I seem to have missed that quality in either Rabbi Amnon or in you. BTW, are you trying to come on to me?

"Modest people go about their lives doing good and keeping Ha-Shem's Mitsvot to the best of their understanding and ability. I seem to have missed that quality in either Rabbi Amnon or in you. " Rabbi Amnon is following kosher Jewish practice: "Rebbe Yonason said: Anybody who can protest to his household and doesn't, will be punished for the sins of his household. Anybody who can protest the sins of his city and doesn't, will be punished for the sins of his city." -Talmud (Shabbos 54b) Homosexuality IS considered a sin according to the Torah. Hence any non-violent protesting against it, IS in conformance with Jewish Law.
65. I did not KEEP his phone #
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (06.18.06)
But I do know how to use a phone book, precious. And no, I am not coming on to you, precious, but I think you and Sammy might make a nice couple.
66. Modesty and Chutspah
The Golem ,   Los Angeles   (06.19.06)
Kyle, Your constant put downs and refusal to treat me or any other gay person with the respect that is due any ben-Adam do not speak well for your cause. Your attempt to link me with a child molester is despicable, even if this Sammy characters exists, which I doubt. Your attempts to use names to "feminize" me only speak to your discomfort with your own masculinity. Your assumption that all gays see themselves as Nazis because you some foolish soul in Nazi regalia is prejudice of the worst kind. If I were to go by your principles, I would believe that Orthodox modesty consists of bullying, lying and personal attacks. I know better, but I'm not sure that you do.
67. Gay Pride Jerusalem
albieon ,   Harrisburg, Pa Usa   (06.19.06)
One topic i haven't seen discussed on this board, are gays who don't support gay pride parades and feel that they misrepresent the mainstream gays. They feel that the far out fringe elements, (which the media covers,) prevent discussion of real issues concerning discrimination etc. Is this going to happen in Jerusalem also?
68. Katrina of all things!!!
Daniel ,   Washington, DC   (06.20.06)
Let me point out once and for all...Katrina did not hit New Orleans. It hit Mississippi. It hit venues where straight people (and gay people) hang out. It hit the EVIL NASTY GREED MONGERS who go to OH NO...DARE I MENTION IT....CASINOS. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! The French Quarter where Southern Decadence was to take place was a virtual ISLAND OF DRY LAND. The only reason it did not happen as a large party is there was no way to get there and no power. This was because G. W. Bush and every President and administration back at least as far as the 1980's when I attended Tulane failed to follow any recomendations about the levies. Every report made suggest levie failure was imminent! .. So for anyone anywhere to suggest G-d wanted to cancel Decadence or had any other motive in this than perhaps we not be so freaking complacent...I say G-d must love gay bars as he left those running and dry while CASINOS (oh no!!! not that evil word) were DESTROYED.

Melody ,   Washington State, US   (06.20.06)
Yes, those dens of iniquity too!
70. Show me the love
Jon ,   New York City, USA   (06.28.06)
Wow! The media in America is always telling us how backwards the Arabs are and how they're all in thrall to these narrow-minded mullahs who preach dogma from the Bronze Age. To see that there is finally something that brings Christians, Jews and Muslims together -- their hateful intolerance of gay people -- is appalling. Where's the love?
71. Gay pride parade Jerusalem
HY ,   Hampshire, England   (08.09.06)
Perhaps it would more suitable for the gay pride people to have their march in Sodom & Gomorrah, if they can find the places that is?.. Could this at least be suggested to them?.. Perhaps it may even prick their consciences a little, and cause them to ask themselves 'why these cities are so hard to find today!?'....
72. The First & greatest commandment
James FletcherBaxter ,   Santa Maria, CA USA   (08.10.06)
The Torah's greatest rule is not 'Love thy brother as thyself...' - which is the second. "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God...." is the greatest and the First commandment - and Jerusalem is His city.
73. gay parade
Richard Nielsen ,   Las Vegas, NV U.S.A.   (08.10.06)
Having a gay parade in Jerusalem is like killing a pig on the alter back in the temple days!
74. my two cents!
nick bamberger ,   mpls, usa   (08.10.06)
8/10/06 consider this, "sodom and egypt". the first is coming to pass, i wonder how the word egypt will come to pass.
75. Satat
Margie ,   Tulsa   (08.22.06)
Nao Satat is an agent of SATAN (SATAT). Read the Account of Sodom in Genesis. If you are Jewish (secular or religious) , there is your proof. Then read Deuteronomy 28 to see what happens to you when you don't obey God. Personally I rather have a thousand nucular war heads after me , then the wrath of God. If you are a watered down so called christian and want to run around with the diverse and pluralistic crowd, you may want to enlighten yourself by reading Romans Chapter 1 in the New Testament. I suggest that you quote the above verses to the so called religious people who show support for this ungodly event. Speaking for Christians, I know that Jesus condemed sex outside of marriage, marriage between a man and a woman is the key idea. He took it so far as to say, Matthew 5:28, But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultry already with her in his heart. Look at the pronouns---HER and HIS. He knew that was one of the Ten Commandments, he just expanded on it. Look if you don't want to follow the statutes and commandments for the Old or New Testament, please have your do-gooder pluralistic and diverse mentality pride group tolerate the few people on the planet who still believe in the Old and New Testament. Above all don't try to impress us that many True religious Jews and True Christians are marching along side of you. They have left the ranks of truth seeking years ago. To them God has lost his soverignty, and has been molded and redefined into a tolerant and weak non-functioning entity. Margie

michelle ,   monsey   (08.11.07)
to everyone with controversey about the rabbi let me just say this hes a good man.About being gay and the march being gay does not mean your bad dirty or evil. It means that you have a tikun to do in this world. It means that you feel like you cant control your urge to be with a same sex partner and then you dont want to be ashamed of it anymore so you justify it. Well its a feeling but its wrong. I know you might not want to believe that because how can anything comming from your heart be wrong? Well thats the whole point when you overcome things that you want to do that are against the torah you reach a spiritual level beyond fathom. That goes with anything ex. not keeping shabbat not keeping kosher stealing or cheating.
77. rav yitzhak and the "liberals"
shuki   (12.27.07)
rav yitzhak has done great work bringing people back to judaism and the torah. why do the gays insist on shoving their agenda in our face in the name of tolerance? if a gay person came to rav yitzhak he would not hurt them. he would speak to them sincerely about what they should do to help themselves. he is in no way out to persecute people. he has a very broad understanding of what the torah says and what it means for humanity. if the problem of male homosexuality wasn't causing suffering to humanity he wouldn't address it so strongly. but it is. it's harder to see in the times we live in. it's a long discussion but it has to do with the necessity of humans learning to rise above the animal instincts sexually. this is needed for the tikkun (repair) of the world. for example, see jewishsexuality.com (or net??) lastly, rav yitzhak is not about hurting secular people; he does not want secular people hurting religious people and he wants to awaken secular jews' souls to the torah. look at his site shofar.net and watch the videos for yourself. see the results of people he's helpled.
78. wrong analogy
bob   (12.27.07)
homosexuality is not the same as race or gender. nobody is saying to kill or harm homosexuals. they are responding, however to the liberal fascism that insists on shoving homosexuality in people's faces esp in the holy city of jerusalem.
