1. Interesting article but..

can the scene there really become that big/meaningful? It's such a tiny place. Hard to imagine that 'significant art' will come out of Tel Aviv.

Dear Mr. Rindsberg, Thank you for bringing to light what so few people have the time or the knowledge to investigate and comment on- Tel Aviv's burgeoning underground art/music scene. Many people are unaware or fail to "stop and smell the roses" while walking around Tel Aviv and so unfrotunately miss-out on the incredible and exciting fringe culture of Tel Aviv's underground art and music scene. This is especially important , since very few Israelis, let alone expatritates, foreigners, and and tourists visiting Israel are aware of this aspect of everyday life in Tel Aviv's cutlural quarters. I hope that Ynet will bring to light more wonderfully insightful- and enlightening articles such as this one. Thanks again!!

hmmm, is that our small population you're refering to or.... there have been a couple of interesting people coming out of israel you know, it doesn't take an american accent to think.
5. #1 - Josh L's comment is very stupid...
Andy   (06.20.06)
and it makes me wonder when the last time any 'significant brains' came out of Brooklyn.
6. disappointing
Amit Kling   (06.20.06)
being one of the organizers of the event on the roof, it's too bad that you didn't talk to any of us, seeing how there is much more to this event that making spaces that have no other use (not that Yuval's comment was wrong, only that it shows only a very small part of the picture).
7. Underbelly of Art.Berlin of the Middle East

Well said Gene! (talkback #2) The prolific artists of Tel-Aviv's vibrant underground community don't get nearly enough credit both on their home turf and certainly abroad... Kudos to you Mr. Rindsberg, for bringing attention to diversity-and diverse expression-in the holy land. I very much look forward to reading more of your YNET pieces in the future. HJ, NYC
8. Integrated-Urban Art in HAIFA
HJ ,   New York City, USA   (06.21.06)
Check out the Beit HaGefen "Peace Walk" in downtown Haifa... Installation pieces from Arab and Israeli artists adorn the old, urban landscape... Look down--yellow footprints on the sidewalk lead you through the entire exhibit...
