1. Ohlmert's Apology
Leon ,   Grand Rapids U S A   (06.22.06)
WHY ? There is no reason to apologise. There is only a reason to attack the murderers who operate in crowded areas, hoping to create a situation like this, then milking it !!!
2. APOLOGY NOT NEEDED!!!!!!
Arie   (06.22.06)
Israel hits civilians BY ACCIDENT because they allow the terrorists to use their neighbourhoods as staging grounds;the palis strike civilians ON PURPOSE, hence never an apology on their part. We are once again facing a policy where we are "forbidden" by our own chamberlains to protect ourselves while the enemy attacks our kids
3. palis cause pali misery
Arie   (06.22.06)
and the 3 stooges known as olmert/peretz/peres find a need to aologize? Time for a MAJOR change!

Uzziel   (06.22.06)
Now can we keep bombarding by all necessary means the source of kassam missiles?
5. Missed opportunity!
Ram ,   London   (06.22.06)
Should have said " no qassams no accidents". Was he more focused on acquiring world recognition as a "nice person" or was he representing the interests of Israel?
6. THERE IS NO REASON TO APOLOGISE !

9. Olmert: you are liar and terrorist along with your goverment
Henry ,   NY   (06.22.06)
10. Olmeret-sorry ?
Dany ,   Canada   (06.22.06)
Haven't you learned from WW II?NOT even 1 APOLOGY. Who cares if we apologise? HEADS UP; We are the Masters of this LAND OF OURS; OUR SECURITY COMES 1st, not the UN, not the Phony UK, EU, 2 FACED North Europeans, ETC. Why do we have to be on the defence @ all? The Arabs are Playing us; When they'll see that it doesn't help, then they'll learn. However, how do you deal with the BEASTS / ANIMALS ?...
11. Why apologize? Its the terrorists fault.
David ,   Boston, USA   (06.22.06)
While loss of children is sad and unintentional, it is the Arab terrorists that caused it. Israel left Gaza to the Arabs, and they used it to bomb Israel almost daily. They caused the death of the children. They could have used Gaza constructively, but instead chose the path of war. Finish the war and demand the Arabs end the occupation of the Temple Mount. Also, give them financial encouragement to move back to Jordan Palestine.
12. Jerusalem is worth it
(06.22.06)
13. #2 by accident?
wider perspective   (06.22.06)
Israel is not hitting Pal civilians by accident. That's just your convenient delusion. By colonizing West Bank, including East Jerusalem, Israel DELIBERATELY perpetuates the conflict and creates conditions that sooner or later lead to civilian deaths and injuries. Only delusional blindness can make one believe that those tragic incidents are just accidents. They are a guaranteed outcome of Israel's deliberate settlement policy.
14. Read your ten commandements buddy
Jay Cohen   (06.22.06)
In response to comment #10... Go and read your ten commandments buddy...You sit here and argue things you have no idea about....this all started when israel was created illegally...now your trying to justify the actions which are illegal again...come to your sense this will never end as long as the policy which started all this continues and more importantly we are bending out own morals to accomplish something that will get us no where...only thing it is bringing us is PAIN!!! #10. "You shall not covet your neighbor's house; nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's." The policy to settle in someone elses house goes against the 10 commandments you cant justify it with that quote you gave...
15. To 11
Henry ,   NY   (06.22.06)
Do not be like ostriches and stik your head in sand. Israel has not leave Gaza. It has only evacuate the colonolia settlements there, preserving full control on entry points, sea and air space. In addition, Israel control the flow of people and good in and out of Gaza. It keeps the registration of palestinian and all registrations of birth, death, ...civil affairs are controled by Israel.
16. Omlet apologize to Jews that get hit for the laongest time

18. Stupidity continued
Eric Murray ,   Pittsburgh, USA   (06.22.06)
The Palestinians are a bunch of morons who have brought their own troubles on their head, but Olmert must realize that his people are still at war? Right? Anyone? The Apology is an insult to his own country and their continued loses to the Palestinians. Try wiping out the entire town to see if PA starts acting like a grown government and stopping terrorism.
19. Hello? An apology for an honest mistake....
Andy   (06.22.06)
is never a bad thing. Israel meant to kill the terrorists, rightfully so, and should continue to take them out. But we missed, and the IDF killed civilians including children and a pregnant lady sitting in her house. Why is an apology so awful? He said that this is not Israel's policy and that's right. Keep up the hard work, Mr. Olmert, and kudos to the IDF's dedication to this difficult mission.
20. Reply to #13
MB   (06.22.06)
"By colonizing West Bank, including East Jerusalem, Israel DELIBERATELY perpetuates the conflict " It is not colonization because the land belongs to the Jews. It is the Arabs who are the invaders and illegal occupiers. They should go back to where they came from.
21. what a wimp
alan a ,   nyc ny.   (06.22.06)
do we demand an accounting or apology from the enemies that shoot at us from residential areas. --no-- we are afraid to ask .. that is our fault .. we cannot be afraid or shy away from our responsibility of making our enemies pay the price..and all we do is apologize for. us protecting ourselves..

You are incorrect. Israel does NOT control the border between Eqypt and Gaza. You are either a propaganda spreading liar or an idiot. Which one is it?
25. #11 David..
lynne   (06.22.06)
what a nerve you've got to still call the Palestinians terrorists!! in that case we just have to pray that Israelis might change thier policy and become terrorists since it seems like you see things the opposite way round!! Israel left Gaza to the Arabs?? how thoughtful of Israel!! Military violence: Since the plan was announced in early 2004, Israel has carried out intensified military incursions into Gaza-a show of force intended to negate Palestinian claims of having defeated Israel militarily. In the course of these attacks, Israeli forces have killed over 700 Palestinians in Gaza2 and destroyed homes, roads, and electricity, sewage, and water lines. Economic misery: Under an economic siege imposed in 2000, Israel cut off Gazans' access to jobs and trade, causing unemployment rates to soar to nearly 50 percent and doubling the ranks of the poor to 77 percent of the population. Israel has threatened to make this siege permanent after disengagement, which will only worsen Palestinian suffering. Palestinians often refer to Gaza-which is the world's most densely populated area-as a huge prison because of Israel's policy of sealing the borders, which prevents people from traveling freely within the occupied territories. Israeli human rights organizations have dubbed the policy "strangulation" and warn that economic hardship, denial of freedom of movement, and the separation of Palestinian families is likely to continue, and even worsen, after disengagement.
26. David.. more on using Gaza constructively..
lynne   (06.22.06)
Disengagement from Gaza is actually part of a two-pronged strategy aimed at consolidating Israel's occupation of the West Bank. As the disengagement plan states, "In any future final status arrangement, there will be no Israeli settlement activity in the Gaza Strip. On the other hand, it is clear that there will be areas in [the West Bank] that will be part of the State of Israel." Indeed, Israel intends to annex 58 percent of the West Bank, which would leave Palestinian communities cut off from one another by a network of Israeli-controlled roads, tunnels, military checkpoints, and the mammoth "Separation Wall," which Israel is building deep within the West Bank in violation of a 2004 International Court of Justice ruling.

I also understand the Arabs - surprise, they think the same about Jews! And so life goes on, everybody living out their morbid little fantasies. How about crawling out of those little worlds of yours and widening your perspectives?
