May The Gods Bless those Jewish Heros
2. Courage to refuse
Francois ,   Paris & Montréal   (06.23.06)
There is no courage at all in refusing to strike Gaza. Refusing to defend yourself against bloodthirsty agressors is only cowardice. These Leftists should have the courage to admit that they are just a bunch of cowards.
3. oh yes lets ...............
Yisraeli   (06.23.06)
why not just say "come attack us everyday, kill of us as many as you want and we will throw flowers against you and not shells because we are not like you - we are so beautiful" frikin a'holes and traitors to boot. "A nation can survive its fools and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. & He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear." - Marcus Tullius Cicero 42 B.C.E.

6. Misguided principles!
Ram ,   London   (06.23.06)
Arik Diamant's comment: "no one would even think of bombarding Tel Aviv or Jerusalem just because a dangerous criminal responsible for artillery fire is hiding there." If the tables were turned and the Palis were superior militarily and someone from Tel Aviv fired a single qassam towards Gaza, Tel Aviv would have been carpet bombed. These idealists have got lovey dovey ideas but never a solution. OK, so you don't fire at Gaza, now, what about the qassams coming from there? Do they want their fellow Jews to accept death as a matter of fact? Is it because they are a safe distance from Sderot? Have they converted to Islam? Do they give a toss about Israel? The appropriate answers to the above will show them to be either cowards or devoid of the realities of the situation.
7. IDF: Refuse orders to fire on Gaza
Jeffrey Levine ,   Los Ajngeles, CA USA   (06.23.06)
Dear Israel, You are at war! Surely the Arab enemy lacks sophisticated weapons. That has not stopped them from attempting a varity of terror acts, and firing rockets at Israelis cities. No weapons system on earth can tell the bad guys from the innocent civilians. Yet, these stupid Israelis (courage to refuse) expects that one country in the world... Israel should stop protecting itself because its weapons sometime kill innocents. These left wing self-loathers should remember that each action by the Palestinians is specifically targeted at innocnt ISraeli citizens. There is no other country on earth that would consider letting its citizens be sitting ducks tto the enemy, just to save several dozen innocents. The whole reason the occupants of Gzaza are in jepoardy are because the Arab terrorists are putting them in harm's way. The entire responsibility to save innocent Gaza Arabs belongs to the Gaza militants, not the Israeli people, or the IDF. A double standard for Israel is patently Antisemitic!
8. And not one word

9. Smash Gaza until Arabs refuse to attack Sderot
Yosef ,   NY, USA   (06.23.06)
When the Arabs end the siege on Sderot the shelling of terrorists will stop.
10. RETURN TO SENDER
BRANT ,   Hilton Head USA   (06.23.06)
To expand on the wonderful idea a poster had a few days ago: Take the used, broken, exploded and unexploded Kassams that land each day and, on a daily basis, select exactly the same number of rockets that landed in Israel. Take those into a small cargo plane or a chopper; fly over any part of Gaza that has similar infrastructure to Sderot and drop this detritus from the sky. Since they are used Kassams, we can expect them to work like ordinary Kassams. Perhaps a child will die, perhaps not. Perhaps a house will be hit; perhaps it will not. Time will tell. It is a much cheaper way of retaliating and might even amuse the Europeans (oh well, maybe can't expect that much)
11. There never was nor
yakov shani ,   IL   (06.23.06)
will there ever be any solution to this conflict until the Israeli leadership and people adopt a policy of total war with the declared objective of forcing the enemy into surrender and total capitulation including a sword surrendering ceremony. Anyone who does not agree is in denial of reality and truth. This, and only this, will bring peace, the sooner this is done the better for both sides. Any wearer of IDF uniform who refuses orders should go to jail, as should those left wing politicians who incite them. After serving their jail sentence they should be given the opportunity to recant, if they refuse they should be stripped of their citizenship and deported. I know these are harsh words, but I regard these folks as traitors and in other regimes they would be strung up in the town square, so in light of that option my suggestion is not too harsh.
12. MAYBE THEY SHOULD START ON THE ARAB SIDE,FIRING ON SDEROT!
STUPID LEFTIES ,   LALALEFTYLAND   (06.23.06)
13. and where are th shabak now?

when eren shtrenberg was suspicied with these kind of things, he got into investigation.
14. Right wing, left wing - both outside the law
Karen R ,   Maryland   (06.23.06)
Urging IDF personnel to disobey orders is unlawful. The army is the army - period. I no longer think targeted killings are such a good idea, if only because the IDF doesn't seem to be too good at them any more. HOWEVER, the way to eliminate this is political action, not trying to incite mutiny in the army. IDF soldiers must be absolutely reliable. Just because a soldier doesn't understand or agree with an order doesn't mean he/she can disobey it, unless it's clearly and immediately immoral. Let this group organize political protests (I will probably support them) but let them stop trying to undermine IDF discipline.
15. Where's YAR LAPID now ??????
gabriela ben ari   (06.23.06)
calling them unusefull brats for not complying with the army ?????
16. I'm Proud Of Them!
Tondalayo Schwartz   (06.23.06)
I'm so proud of these Israeli service men and woman. Let the world take note - there are still ethical Jews. May G_d bless them and increase their numbers a hundred-fold!
17. Yeah for them!
Sebastian Ludlow ,   Nashville, TN USA   (06.23.06)
This is what needs to be done... Everyone knows that Israel can wipe out the Palestinians, but it's people like this that don't want to take the chance on murdering innocent people. We all support Israel's right to self defense, and abhor suicide bombers, but violence is still the worst choice to respond to violence. YEAH for these people!
18.  courage to refuse?
oded   (06.23.06)
or courage to be a cowerd and a traitor? only the israeli left can be so adamantly blind, misguided or both. i don't see them marching to sderot and hlelping the kids and old people there to cope with the murderous pali machine.... but ,they are all up in arms about few collateral demage civivlans on the arab side. SHAME ON YOU FOR CALLING YOURSELVES JEWS!!!

21. But is Yair Lapid ashamed?
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (06.23.06)
Let's see Yair call these shmucks "spoiled brats" and "disgrace" like he attacked Sgt. Dayan. I won't hold my breath.
22. Anyone
yakov shani ,   IL   (06.23.06)
who lauds and applauds a traitor is an accomplice with unmittigated responsibility. Shame on all traitors and their inciters.
23. They are supporting the enemy
Chaya ,   Bat Yam   (06.23.06)
They - along with Dana Olmert - should be arrested and made to stand trial for treason.
24. IDF: Yisraeli's got it!
Tam Highplace ,   Richmond, USA   (06.23.06)
The enemy within is THE #1 reason countries fall. The U.S. is in the same situation with its internal enemies. Keep up the good fight, stand firm in your resolve, and you will succeed. We pray for the safety of all who are in harms way.
25. Traitors, all of them!
Avraham ,   Netivot   (06.23.06)
The IDF should these refusniks with treason. They are a disgrace to Am Yisroel & to the IDF. Put them all in jail!
26. Pacifism as George Orwell understood it
Barry   (06.23.06)
In practice, ‘he that is not with me is against me’. The idea that you can somehow remain aloof from and superior to the struggle, while living on food which British sailors have to risk their lives to bring you, is a bourgeois illusion bred of money and security. Mr Savage remarks that ‘according to this type of reasoning, a German or Japanese pacifist would be “objectively pro-British”.’ But of course he would be! That is why pacifist activities are not permitted in those countries (in both of them the penalty is, or can be, beheading) while both the Germans and the Japanese do all they can to encourage the spread of pacifism in British and American territories. The Germans even run a spurious ‘freedom’ station which serves out pacifist propaganda indistinguishable from that of the Peace Pledge Union. They would stimulate pacifism in Russia as well if they could, but in that case they have tougher babies to deal with. In so far as it takes effect at all, pacifist propaganda can only be effective against those countries where a certain amount of freedom of speech is still permitted; in other words it is helpful to totalitarianism.
27. George Orwell's foresight
Barry   (06.23.06)
What I object to is the intellectual cowardice of people who are objectively and to some extent emotionally pro-Fascist, but who don’t care to say so and take refuge behind the formula ‘I am just as anti-fascist as anyone, but—’. The result of this is that so-called peace propaganda is just as dishonest and intellectually disgusting as war propaganda. Like war propaganda, it concentrates on putting forward a ‘case’, obscuring the opponent’s point of view and avoiding awkward questions. The line normally followed is ‘Those who fight against Fascism go Fascist themselves.’ In order to evade the quite obvious objections that can be raised to this, the following propaganda-tricks are used: 1) The Fascizing processes occurring in Britain as a result of war are systematically exaggerated. 2) The actual record of Fascism, especially its pre-war history, is ignored or pooh-poohed as ‘propaganda’. 3) Discussion of what the world would actually be like if the Axis dominated it is evaded. 4) Those who want to struggle against Fascism are accused of being wholehearted defenders of capitalist ‘democracy’

29. All soldiers must do the same
Daniel ,   North tel Aviv   (06.23.06)
Courageous Jews. in the 80s, I was deeply traumatised by my service in the IDF and the brutal way we were made to deal with the Palestinian civilians. It made me leave Israel for 15 years. Both myself (a jew) and my catholic wife will refuse to let our son and daughter serve in the IDF because it has become a fascist organisation the enlightened jew, Daniel
30. Pacifists
yakov shani ,   IL   (06.23.06)
are essentially cowards with an excuse, they are also immoral as they wish to continue receiving from the State while not contributing to its survival. They are also ignorant of the fact that should the enemy win the conflict, or even one round, they would be thanked for the help and then dispatched in the usual Arab fashion.
