Which is basically what you're saying in this article, if I understood correctly. It's true. Without any political clout it's just a bunch of people with noble ideas... What we need to do is have Palestinian mothers who are proud of their suicide bombing sons sit and have a discussion with the victims of those bombs. Likewise we should sit some of the settlers and the right-wing nuts down next to a normal palestinian family. When we talk about the enemies of peace (and therefor the obstacles) we're talking about people who REFUSE to try and see things from the opposite point of view.
