First off, I am not afraid of Gays. I live in San Francisco area and know people who may be gay. Second, I don't hate gays nor do I hate anyone for the way they live {unless they are dangerous to themselves or others}. That being said, I am ashamed and disheartened that the once great nation of the Israelites, which is now the country of Israel, has allowed such a perverse and un-G-dly event as the Gay Pride parade to occur in the MOST HOLY place of Jerusalem. If this is not a BIG SLAP in the face of all the major religions WHAT IS? I know that many ynet.com readers HATE Hashem, so I will not get much support here... PLEASE HASHEM! HEAR OUR CRIES! DO NOT LET THIS PARADE HAPPEN IN JERUSALEM. THE JEWS LOVE HASHEM, WE LOVE THE HOLY TEMPLE! PLEASE STOP THIS ABOMINATION FROM HAPPENING IN YOUR MOST HOLY PLACE!

Arab MK Sarsur needs to be punished in the Knesset for his inciteful remarks, 'this attack is more venomous than the zionist attack to make Jerusalem Jewish'. Is this NOT a seditious comment? In the effort to stop this confrontational and provocative parade, the pressure needs to be placed on the Israeli political regime. There is no need to reach out to antizionists. Either Jews are in charge of their destiny in Israel or not.

It seems that these days any time someone religious stands up against or for something the secular people shout "religious coercion!!!" The seculars have made what they call being "liberal" the only way to be. what this means is that anything religious is fascist and anything secular is liberal and ok. Not OK this liberalism has become its self a facistic coercive suppressive cult of secular fanatics who rule out the feelings and wants of any one different from themselves. Jerusalem is a holy city with a majority of religious Jews, Christians & Moslems. If they do not wish that this 'event' take place in their majority city, and the seculars want to do it anyway with out disscussing it and considering these feelings than this is the true coercion by the seculars who have become exactly what they despise: a cult of "secular religionists", whose 'lawsof liberalism' take the place of the ten commandments/Sha'aria and they have no tolerance for others feelings.

Israel is lucky to be the host of a parade entitiled Love Without Borders. I think the idea of a Pride Parade in Jerusalem is ideal. It is recognizing that city as the Capital of Israel. I understand that people of various religions view the city as holy and strictly there for them. However what they fail to recognize is that it is not about Jerusalem being a holy city that is the reason for the parade being held there. It is because it is the Capital city. Do you think the parade will go from the Kotel to the Masque to the Church ot the Holy Sepluchre? I suspect it wont even enter the Old City. Has anyone seen the parade route? There is a lot of shouting and even threats being made. All kinds of 'Menu Judaism'being used to justify it. The Torah commands us to keep the Sabbath yet there are many places open for business on Saturday in Jerusalem. Should we stone the owners? Should we set up road blocks to prevent people from entering these places? If you have a religious obligation to uphold Torah, Koran, or Bible, then you must uphold the first ten laws above all others. Do you? Will you respond the way the bible commands? If you don't like a gay parade, that's fine. Don't attend. Hold a protest parade. (I hear there is one) Just remember that Israel, Jerusalem included is not a country strictly for the religious. It is for everyone.

8. A Peaceful March, not a Provocation

I really don't understand how several hundred gay men and women, marching peacefully with their friends, families, partners and loved ones is a threat or provocation to anyone. This will not be a loud or provocative parade. it will be dignified. I understand--though I strongly disagree--with how religious Jews feel about this issue. Though calling gay people an "abomination" and then saying that you are not attacking them isn't very convincing. The bottom line is: there are things about "your" lifestyle that offend me, like not serving in the army. But I still respect you and never forget that we are all Jews and Israelis and one people. Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, my capital and your capital. As an israeli i have as much right to march for a cause I believe in as you do. The purpose of this event is not to provoke, annoy, or insult anyone, but to say that we are human beings, citizens of Israel, we serve in the army (unlike many haredim) and we want to be treated equally, nothing more and nothing less. What's so offensive about that?

Jerusalem for a gay pride march. The people holding the parade are choosing to be in everyone's face. It won't be a nice time for anyone but they have permission now and they will come and setback their public relations by many years. They are shooting themselves in the foot by their own choice. That said, In December of 2002 I saw an ad in the paper for a "palestinian" protest in Zion Square, the location they bombed two years earlier. I came down and started a screaming and chanting protest against these scum who wanted to kill all the Jews. Along with the crown that gathered, I screamed and chanted until I was unable to talk. If you are going to let scum who have vowed to kill you hold a demonstration in Zion Square, how much can you say against having people who don't want to kill you, who just want to provoke. If you are going to ban the gay parade, then please be sensible and ban the "palestinians" also. We are all safer living next to gays than next to "palestinians." Ban both or ban none.

the citizens of Tel Aviv, a majority of whom are secular, can ban Rabbi Lau from the city and forbid any public display of religion... but no, a free and tolerant Jewish and democaratic state allows minorities to publically assemble throughout the country... of course my argument makes no sense to those who believe that tolerance and democracy are not Jewish virtues.

1. I think its very offensive that there are people who live in this country and are protected by the IDF and don't serve in the army. There are also people in this country who live off the state and contribute nothing. That should bother everyone in Israel more than a peaceful march. 2. I think people who don't live in Israel and don't defend it have no place in this discussion or any other discussion about internal Israeli matters. This includes Christian nuts in the US who want Jesus to come back so he can send all the jews (and gays, of course) to hell. 3. Simon, you say you're not religious but condemn my "sin." If you're such a good Jew at least respect the laws yourself. There's nothing I hate more than a big fat hypocrite. And no, I wouldn't go out with you. You also haven't served in the army, so why don't you come to israel and serve in the army before you start attacking people who do. Then at least you have a right to speak on this topic.
