You are named, if this IS your name, for a great prophet of G-d. Shouldn't you be ashamed of dropping it in the mud? Sure, let the homosexuals go ahead and sodomise each other, as you say, but let them also remember what happened to the inhabitants of that city, after which they are named, who did the same. And the G-d of Israel is not asleep, and He has never changed His mind on this.
32. homoparade in Jerusalem
niki ,   usa   (06.28.06)
homophobes =incorrect, we are not afraid of homos..their actions sickens me and God calls it an abomination..that being shown in a parade in God's city..don't look strange if something happen out of the ordinaryfor such purpose devilement of Jerusalem
33. good going ellen!!!
jman ,   il   (06.28.06)
i'm happy for you ellen that you stickup for your rights. and i'm happier for the fact that your gay, it means that your genes will end when you leave this world from some STD that you'll get from some other moron like you. and to you ilan, according to the statistics there are more religious combat soldiers than secular ones. and of all the secular soldiers that i served with none where gay, and they all put on tefillin before any deployments because they knew that any safe return was an act of G-D. go and ask any manly soldier (or wimpy, because they are straight?) if they think this parade is right, i bet they'll say no. by the way, i'm a charedi "parasite" who served in a sf unit. whats your claim to fame, a jobnic?

Were Israel secular it would have civil marriage, etc. Israel has a rabbinate connected to its government. "Secular" is only meant in the term of "non-charedi" -- because Israel is not like its "secular" counterparts in Europe or North America.
35. Political vs Religious
Daniel ,   Washington, DC   (06.28.06)
I know all the haredim are upset. I'm very sorry for them. They are just proving the point of the need to march in Jerusalem. The Pride Parade was and is a political parade. It is a demonstration that there is a gay population who need and deserve equal rights. Were Tel Aviv the Capital city in Israel it would be held there. Tel Aviv is NOT the Capital no matter what Euro and American countries would prefer. Israel should be proud to host World Pride. For those who feel that the parade is offensive, don't go.
36. Don't mock God
Hilary W ,   London   (06.28.06)
The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob indicates in both the old and new testaments that homosexuality is a sin. An attempt to make wrong right by flaunting a gay pride march in this most cherished of cities where the Jewish Christ lived, died and rose again will open the door to dire consequences for those who attempt to mock Him.
37. And the Lord said
Steve ,   USA   (06.28.06)
For in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants. Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, says the Lord, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you: (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;) That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you. For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people. Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the LORD your God. Remember the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, The LORD your God hath given you rest, and hath given you this land. For the judgment is mine, says the Lord, and you have once again defiled the land I have given you. How many times have I punished you for your doing abominations on the land I gave you? Have you forgotten that neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine land, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.
38. And the Lord continued
Steve ,   USA   (06.28.06)
Cause Jerusalem to know her abominations as it was written... And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel. Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall. Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the LORD which he had hallowed in Jerusalem. Should you again break the Lord’s commandments, and join the affinity with the people of these abominations? For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, saith the LORD: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to pollute it. I have seen your adulteries, and your neighings, the lewdness of your whoredom, and your abominations on the hills in the fields. Woe unto you, Jerusalem! Won’t you keep clean the land like it once was? Wherefore, as I live, said the Lord GOD; Surely, because you have defiled my land with all thy detestable things, and with all your abominations, therefore will I also diminish you; neither shall mine eye spare, neither will I have any pity. Now will I shortly pour out my fury upon you, and accomplish mine anger upon you: and I will judge you according to your ways, and will recompense thee for all your abominations. If you will return, Israel, said the LORD, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away your abominations out of my sight, then shall you not be removed. Therefore say unto the house of Israel, thus said the Lord GOD; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.
39. "And the Lord Said,"
Daniel ,   Washington DC   (06.29.06)
The Lord says a lot of things in a lot of places. But let's focus on a quote from you. "For the judgment is mine, says the Lord" With that in mind, let the Lord judge and MYOB. You don't live in Israel Steve nor does Hillary. I plan to. I WANT a free society. I WANT to live in a place where there are equal rights regardless of sexual orientation. I am willing to fight for a country that will do that. I am even willing to die for such a country. Are you? I am NOT looking to tell anyone what to believe nor should they tell me. Let the Lord do that. Let the Lord judge. I doubt the Lord will have a problem with people the way you do.

You don't seem to realise, Daniel, that Jerusalem is not just another city in the world and Israel is not just another country on the map. Even if you don't believe in the Word of God, it will still come to pass and there will still be consequences. Best not to mess with God , but then ... you'll find out for yourself!

42. Gay/Lesbian Controversy
James Reesor ,   Nashville, Tennessee   (06.30.06)
+ It is the "sin" of being a thief, murderer, suicide bomber, liar, blasphemer, gay or a lesbian that causes Christians to be hostile to certain groups of people. Just as all people who rebel against God's Laws, gays and lesbians have a right to certain civil liberties in certain places, but attempting to flaunt their wickedness in the holy sanctuary -- Jerusalem -- would have a negative affect on their desires to be recognized as credible people who advocate alternative lifestyles. It is not only a stupid idea for them to pursue their "WorldPride" objectives in Israel, it might turn out to be an opportunity for God to express His wrath as He did in Sodom and Gomorrah. For liberals who can't seem to understand why Christians oppose these kinds of activities, such as the parades that helped make New Orleans famous before Katrina hit with a vengeance, gays and lesbians strutting their stuff on sacred ground would be like prostitutes running daycare centers for children, thieves managing banks, and liars becoming politicians. There are just some things about "corrupting influences" that need to be resisted. Since Christian views are seldom taken seriously in places where evil prevails, all I can say about this particular issue is to send out advance "warnings!" Cease and desist! Stop in the name of Love! Repent of your mistakes! Stop trying to promote degeneracy! Stop equating "pride" with lifestyles that deserve nothing but shame! ---
43. No Sex Please, We're in Jerusalem
Mike in Brooklyn ,   Brooklyn   (06.30.06)
Ilan in Tel Aviv said it would be a peaceful march, and not a provocation. If it were really dignified, and only calling for full equal and civil rights for gays as law-abiding citizens of the State, I wouldnt have a problem with it. I didnt see last years' Jeruslaem Pride Parade, but I have seen some of them in NYC. As an observant straight Jew,I am all for civil rights for gays in Israel and anywhere else, (and the Muslim world too). I understand their wanting to demonstrate their presence and their desire for acceptance. However, I have seen the libertine excesses at gay pride demonstrations in NYC, and I think if it is anything like that its wholly unappropriate for Jerusalem.I would criticize a demonstration in Jerusalem where straight people also celebrate heterosexual love with displays of scantily dressed men and women either.
44. Homosexuality
Gayle ,   Reno, USA   (07.01.06)
This is, as God said, a sin, an abomination, but God's word also tells us to "love the sinner, but hate the sin" . Therefore I choose to follow the Lord's command. I have to say that I do agree that this parade should be cancelled. I don't like this lifestyle thrown in my or my childrens face!!
