"as Palestinians..we will face the death as a men" Yea, while you're hiding behind women and children.

If you think that the term "goy" is not derogatory, think again babe. In all my travels throughout the Arab world, I gotta tell you I have never heard the word kafir used. Perhaps you have had a different experience. If you are talking about Islamic law, then you can also compare it to Jewish law - both have sections applicable to believers and non-believers - but to pretend that kafir is a word used by anyone outside Al Qaeda is maximum self delusion.
33. Jibril of Genf and the word Goy
Rustum ,   London, UK   (06.28.06)
As it is not inappropriate language, there must be another reason why your post #11 was removed from the public eye. Do you have any thoughts on why? My thoughts are that although the word "goy" is indeed Hebrew for nation, that is not the way you used it. You used it in the sneering derogatory supremacist way that it has been used in Yiddish, and not in the clinical and descriptive way it is used in Hebrew. By the way, I love the description "obsessed little maniac". Were you looking in the mirror? Dis-moi que je suis belle, et que je serai belle èternellement ! Que rien ne flètrira les roses de mes lèvres, que rien ne ternira l'or pur de mes cheveux ! And what did you see in the mirror?
34. 23 - the religious use 'goy' as an insult
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (06.28.06)
they use the word as a slur and an insult when speaking negatively about gentiles. true, by definition, the word means 'nation' but there are many other words which have a simple textbook definition (eg, the word for a female dog) but are used negatively. the use of 'goy' in certain contexts is the same.
35. #27 "Arabs are born terrorists."
Rustum ,   London, UK   (06.28.06)
Great and deep philosophic words there Eric. And what are chinese born? And what are americans born? You obviously know the answers so why don't you illuminate the subject a little more. Now as for the good old U.S. of A helping out the Kuwaits - I believe they did it by killing thousands of Iraqis in a "duck shoot". I also seem to remember that the good old US of A had a fine old time killing hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese, Laotian and Cambodian "geeks" for no reason other than the fact that they were not Americans. You have no memory of the massacres carried out by the good old US of A? Ask a Cambodian about carpet bombing. I don't believe that the hundreds of thousands who died under the Kissinger reign of terror would agree with you that they were happy to die in the cause of "freedom". Shame on you.
36. Just ignorant, as usual.

This Rustum thinks he is a scholar. HAHAHAHA! After reading all your posts, I would suggest you to get some basic education. Stop writing this nonsense. You should be thankful that you are living in democratic civilized society and not in one of those bookburners countries.

I find the term "Goy" offensive....why to put labels on people....why can't we accept people as human beings, regardless which colour, race or religion they have...
38. To Rustum #32
HBendor ,   New York USA   (06.28.06)
There is not enough space on this talk back to substantiate and illustrate your inadequate statement. The Arabs/Muslims my friend, are motivated by the words of the Qur'an, when I say Muslims I mean all of them unless your name is Wafa Sultan or Walid Shoebat... The indoctrination of Muslim youths in the world starts with the Qur'an and ends with the Qur'an and the Hadith, so please spare me the time and the energy to stomp your fake illusions. In addition I am not a 'babe' but rather a Prof. of Middle Eastern History.

40. 34 mike : Wrong
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (06.28.06)
From the dictionary Goy=Yiddish, from Hebrew GOY people, nation GENTILE ... Others non Jews... Also: From Talmud: !!!!!!!!!!! it is a proper term: "Goy" is Hebrew for nation. Exodus 19:6 "'But you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words that you shall speak to the children of Israel." The word used here for nation, referring to the children of Israel, is "goy". There are countless examples of the Jewish nation being called "goy". There are also countless examples of other nations being called "goy" or "goyim". Colloquially, however, non-Jewish nations -- other nations -- are called "goyim" and a member of these nations is called a "goy". Any gentile is therefore called a "goy". It is not a derogatory term, but merely a descriptive term. Don't post anything that comes to your mind - I am sure you have never read anything from the Talmud, you would NOT because you are Not Jewish ... so don't try to play games when you don't know

Prof of Middle Eastern History - Goldziher and Hourani would be ashamed of you. No professor of history would make grotesque generalising statements - completely unacademic. So for not one second do I believe that you actually teach anything other than hatred and polemics. A professor of Middle Eastern history saying "the indoctrination of Muslim youths starts with the Qur'an" - Any didact worth his own matza would be scandalised by your obscene generalisation. Babe.
43. Jibril's goy
Rustum ,   London, UK   (06.28.06)
Oh you do squirm - but yet again your true viper colours come through. There is simply no escape from the fact that when you said "Goy Marcel" - you were using it in a derogatory way. Now next question - since your etymologies are so sound - is the word sheigetz also as underogatory as the word goy? Naturally goy is a proper term, but if you look in the dictionary you will also find that many offensive terms exist there, i.e. coon = word used to describe black minstrel singers - but no one in their right mind would use it, just as no one in their right mind would refer to people posting comments here as "goy Marcel". Go'al nefesh. Try looking that up in your dictionary of abusive, offensive terms.
44. Professors of Middle Eastern Studies
Rustum ,   London, UK   (06.28.06)
His most recent publications deal with minorities in the Arab world and Israeli national security. Well - this is certainly acamedia in the service of the fascist state. I take back my intimation that you are not a professor, but add my intimation that you, like Pockock and the towering figures in Orientalism before you, use a little learning to buttress your own prejudices. God help the people you write about - all those poor indoctrinated Moslems who are obviously born guilty or made guilty so that you can justify a nice bit of Israeli carpet bombing.
45. 37 someone ,TA:Then you must be also offended by the Talmud
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (06.28.06)

Hilda ,   USA   (06.28.06)
Maybe Israel does not want to retake Gaza but it can completely dstroy it. Return it to the desert it was before Israel made it bloom and make the people run from it like erats from a sinking ship. Make it completely unteneable for these monsters. It is time to give them a klop from which they can never raise their heads again.

I do apologise for intimating that you are not a professor of Middle Eastern History. However, your headline "Rustum the Arab Name" is slightly unacademic. Not too many quadrilateral roots in Arabic. Wanna try any Persian etymologies?
49. Jibril's joy
Rustum ,   London, UK   (06.28.06)
"In English however, the dispassionate use of the word goy is controversial. It is instead typically assigned pejoratively to non-Jews as well as to Jews who are perceived by other Jews to lack religious commitment to Judaism. To avoid any offensive connotations that have been attached to the word, writers typically prefer the neutral terms "Gentile" or "non-Jew". You are fighting a losing and pathetic battle Mr Jibril of Jenf. Why don't you just, for once, apologise for your humiliating, derogatory and demeaning comments? Just let go of Azazel's hand and let the apology slide out. It will be cathartic for you to admit publicly the blatant error of your ways. Is this the same standard as your "journalism"? Grotesque racial generalisations followed by haranguing obfuscation in the service of the great racial ideal?
