7. Syrian mistake
mike ,   san diego   (06.28.06)
biggest syrian mistake was buying Russian SAM hardware. What an embarassment to let your enemy blatantly fly over your own leader. Syria knows they cant start a ground and air war since they will be pulverized by IAF within hours. Give up your Hamas terror leadership, and there will be no need to embarass you again Bashar boy.
8. Sonic booms over Assad's palace....
Doc ,   UK   (06.28.06)
If the Syrian government spokesman is prepared to describe the Palestinian incursion from Gaza as an Israeli 'failure', how does he address the nature of Syrian security in allowing Israeli aircraft to perform a sonic boom over his President's palace when the latter was in residence. He should be more concerned that Israel didn't decide to fire upon the premises and less concerned about the 'smoke screen' of the aircraft 'leaving' after Syrian forces opened fire on them. If the latter was such a deterrent the aircraft wouldn't have been able to get there in the first place. I fear this is more about the Arabic 'saving of face' than anything else. Something which underlies the failure to release the kidnapped Israelis. Syria has revealed it's true colours in supporting Hamas and Hamas has shown that it is no 'partner in peace' by choosing to use blackmail, kidnapping and the firing of missiles at Israeli civilians as part of the "political" process.

Bill Pearlman ,   Chicago, USA   (06.28.06)
Syria has oceans of Jewish blood on their hands from that little proxy war they ran in southern Lebanon with Hexbollah. It's time to settle accounts.
11. Why does Peretz look like Stalin?
Jeff ,   Cherry Hill, NJ USA   (06.28.06)
He really does. And Ahmadinijad looks like Ringo. And Bibi looks like Richard Dreyfus (the actor). Coincidence? I think not.
12. Why the hell didnt Israel not drop bombs on his house. I mea
Mike ,   canada   (06.28.06)
The only way to solve this is to go into the gaza strip with guns blazing and kill every single terrorist. Distroy every house, every hole that, and any one that supports terrorism.

14. Good Morning Syria
Jeff ,   Cherry Hill, NJ USA   (06.28.06)
Syria: Providing safe haven to terrorists (PFLP, HAMAS, Hizballah, al-Qaeda). Providing flows of weapons and trouble to Iraq. Cousin and apologist for terrorist Iran. Syria: loves death and oppression. Look up and wake up. Wasn't Asad an eye doctor? I cannot picture him with one of those round mirrors on his head. Maybe one with a bullseye though.

17. Israel's Big,Big Mistake
Marcel ,   Florida   (06.29.06)
The biggest mistake Israel has made is to act with restraint. Now everyone sees Israel has a paper tiger ,talks tough but noting else. This has emboldened the enemy and they have no reason to release any kidnapped israeli's and every reason to continue and up the nate. Israel has lost any and all credibility and deterrence as EVERYONE knows Omert's-Israel's, hands are tied
18. I suppose the comments on here could be
Colin ,   Toronto, Canada   (06.28.06)
more ignorant. You waste your entire budget on security when with less racism and facism you could have peace with neighboring Arab countries and put all that money into domestic welfare and education. You're hopeless.
19. Israel will sink in the sea of Arabs sooner or later
(06.29.06)
20. Time to teach Syria a lesson
Daniel ,   Israel   (06.28.06)
Israel needs to teach the arrogant terror-sponsoring regime in Syria a lesson. The Syrians like tough talk but in action against Israeli fighter pilots the Syrian planes fell in droves like flies from the sky. The large confrontation between IAF and the Syrians during the Lebanon war ended 100 to zero in IAF:s favor and IAF is much stronger today whereas the Syrians are looking for spare parts for their old Migs so the Syrians should watch out.
21. Assad upened fire
Bachrach Andres ,   Kfarsaba il.   (06.29.06)
Mr.Assad tells,we opened fire and the israel planes left the area.Good job mr.wouldn't you opened fire the planes would remain in the air and wouldn't return to their bases.Andi hakfarsabai.

A lot of people have a mustache! It doesn't mean that they are Stalin!
23. Gaza Operation
Jason ,   zichron Israel   (06.29.06)
It is obvious that a goal of this operation is to cause cracks in the political Palestinian / Arab establishment vis a vis Gaza Hamas Syria Syriia Hamas, Fatah Hamas Syria, Egypt Hamas, Lebanon Syria/Hariri, the Palestinian population / Hamas. There is going to be one big salad after this and this operation is the shaker.
24. To #22 - Did Stalin have a mustache too?
Jeff ,   Cherry Hill, NJ USA   (06.29.06)
25. current crisis in ME
sa ,   lv,nv   (06.29.06)
There appears to be few wise statesmen left in the world. Only the warriors remain. And when statesmen fade, so does diplomacy. Words die, and weapons and warfare replacement them. And when this happens, civilizations die from within, and former symphonies die along with them. New powers arise, and new victims for the world to mourn. This has repeatedly occurred throughout history, and will continue to do so, until man learns his lesson. Thus, the cycle continues.
26. Colin, are you for real, get a life.
sam ,   london uk   (06.29.06)
All Israel's money is not spent on security and even if it were, would it not be justified, they have been attacked 5 times and won, if they would have the weapons their would be no deterant, and then there would not be an Israel, which is exactly what you want, now isnt it.
27. #18 Speaking of Welfare
Amy ,   USA   (06.29.06)
It is the huge financial support from the USA that enables Israel's Warfare Monster in the first place.
28. Watch Syria
IceDragonBritannia ,   UK   (06.29.06)
The Palestinians will have learnt from Iraq, there will be people in the Terrorist run Palestinian territories who will be fresh from Iraq. They will now know how to conduct streetfighting and hit and run attacks. Don't let yourselves get too drawn in too far. There is a danger that Syria may attack from the East, the actions of Hamas, the kidnappings and killings, may just be a ruse to divert the IDF in order to facilitate an invasion. I would not be surprised. Keep an eye on the Syrians.
29. CROSSING THE BOUNDS OF LOGIC?
ytba ,   usa   (06.29.06)
b"h -- YES. AS DO THEY. BUT WE DO SO FOR THE BETTERMENT OF THE WORLD, WHILE THEY DO IT TO DESTROY THE WORLD. CROSS MORE BOUNDS OF LOGIC, AND BRING MOSHIACH DURING THIS AUSPICIOUS TIME... http://www.chabad.org/mychabad/email/article.asp?aid=376725
30. Arabs should be the last ones to talk about logic.
Daisy ,   USA   (06.29.06)
Arabs murder innocent civilians then whine when they are punished for it. I've never seen a group of people so devoid of logic and sanity.
