I read with repugnance about your Church's (Ontario branch) decision to boycott Israel and although I am not a Christian, I can vouch for the fact that, neither are you. You justify your resolution of sanctions against the only democratic state in the Middle East "until that state (i.e. Israel) recognizes the Palestinian right to self-determination", but we all know that this is a bogus claim. When jews returned to the land in 1882 they LEGALLY purchased uninhabitable land from the arabs. After the jews turned the desert and swamps into a functional infrastructure and a plentitude of jobs arabs immigrated. In 2000 Barak offered the PA 96% of the disputed land and the additional 4% would be supplemented with other land. The PA rejected this generous offer, provided no counter-offer and then in return started the 2nd Intifada. Israel has shown with their actions (Gaza) and their offers (Camp David) that they are ready to make peace. What have the Palestinian militants done...kidnappings, beheadings, suicide bombings..etc. The Palestinian militants and government are promoting terrorism and are perpetuating their own peoples suffering.
