Are the Israelis supposed to voluntarily lose in order to fit some politically correct sense of balance? This is nonsense. Israel does hold back out of a sense of morals and restraint. We all know what the jihadists would do if they had the upper hand for even one second.
32. Perfect Timing
Don McIntyre ,   Dallas, Texas USA   (07.02.06)
Tell those heathern Palestinians that you have a bomb in the middle of the Dome of the Rock that goes off in 24 hours. The gold from the monument, the values & the land will then go to Israel. They will have his boney ass kid front center in about 2 hours. You are all missing the best opportunity that you've had for years. Take advantage of it!
33. Concentration camps?
Robby ,   San Jose, USA   (07.02.06)
There are about 2.5 million "Palestinians" in camps in Lebanon, Egypt, Syria and Jordan. That is your true enemy - your own Arab brothers who won't even let you be a citizen. As for who is the "occupation" - there were Jews before Muhammad. Who is the occupiers? Wouldn't you and your people be better served to worry about educating your young and creating an economy instead of starting trouble for yourself?
34. #20 Who's life is more important?
Robby ,   San Jose, USA   (07.02.06)
You should tell the Palestinians that Gilad's life if no more important - I don't think they agree with you? Otherwise why would they have kidnapped him? As for your "democratically elected officials" - what is your point? Need I remind you of how times in history "democratically elected officials" were evil? Wasn't Saddam Hussein elected with 100 percent? Just like those poor "Palestinian Victims" that where firing Qassam rockets from next to a civilian-populated beach - what did the kidnappers expect? How many times will they poke a hornet's nest before they figure out what will happen?
35. #15..your the confused one

36. Taking this soldier is not a hostage crisis.
AK   (07.02.06)
Taking the 18 year old and murdering was a possible hostage crisis (note possible.) This here is clearly an act of military aggression. The tunnel didn't just happen but was built at great expense, with a technological know-how over an extended period of time. This was an act of war. Please, don't forget that 2 soldiers were killed and 7 wounded. The military action is ongoing with constant rocket attack against Israeli civilians and military installations. Abbas is responsible together with Hamas 'PM' and their terrorist 'Parliament.' If they have no control over the territory why do they oppose Israel taking the control? Gaza is and isn’t an independent territory, depending on what they and the world at large find more convenient to use against Israel. Since there is no independent Palestine, Israel can walk into Gaza and clean up the garbage any time they find it useful. On the other hand if there is such a thing as independent Gaza, then PM, President, Parliamentarians are fully responsible for the butchery perpetrated from their territory and any act of war can be answered with a full blown war and everything that the war entails. I truly wonder sometimes if journalists have any brains, after reading Ynet, Haaretz and JP and the way they report the occurrences in Israel and Gaza et al... Now, we all know that the rest of the world press is ideologically opposed to the very existence of Israel, so there are no expectations of real reporting or fairness there, but shouldn’t Israeli newspaper people know better?
37. Who runs Hamas??
Larry ,   Toronto, Canada   (07.02.06)
It is so convenient that nobody knows who is in charge in Hamas. Therefore until they do, maybe they should all be grabbed, tried, and perhaps jailed or executed for their criminal acts. After all isn't it the laws of the occupier that prevail???
38. That Olmert and Peretz have been
Ram ,   London   (07.02.06)
spineless in this saga is beyond discussion. That they supposedly held back from taking action for a whole week BECAUSE the Egyptians and the French were negotiating with the terrorists is beyond belief. Mubarak is a first class anti-semite who at the first chance will not hesitate to attack Israel. Thanks to him there is a free flow of arms into Gaza. France is the most arabist EU country with a an anti-zionist track record that goes back decades. How can Israelis allow the decision making to be on the hands of such self serving nincumpoops? May the Lord protect the IDF!
