Israel was so distressed at failing to qualify for the world cup that they arranged to have one of their soldiers captured, two of their soldiers killed, a young civilian captured and killed AND a bunch of rockets to be fired at Sderot. What better way to distract the nation from failing to qualify for the World Cup than by going into Gaza to rescue a kidnapped soldier? That's brilliant! I suggest that the "extreme student unions" of Iran should ask themselves why Israel timed the Gaza "offensive" the in the first place - I guess it's easy to make crazy accusations when you ignore the facts.

You know, I thought after all the Palestinian braggarts talking about how the weapons of Palestinians have improved over the past few years we wouldn't even be having this conversation. Regardless, if I am not mistaken, it is a common occurence to attack the infrastructure of a country in order to disable its ability to continue its battle. That's what happened to much of Europe in WWII. With the small population of Israel, it brings me joy to see that they are able to stand up to a much larger Muslim population, though the percentage of muslims in Israel or Palestine has decreased in relation to Jews over the years. I'm not sure if others think of this event in its singularity or compared on the whole to the past 100 years of increased Israeli Presence and violent antagonism between the two nations, however it is my choice to think of this in frame of the larger picture. I am not Jewish by faith, only by blood, though I still feel a strong connection to the Jewish people. I assume that many over here in the Western Nations and in Western Nation leadership feel a similar connection. Because of this fact I think it is rediculous to ask for a Boycott of Israeli Products.

I don't believe the arab world wants anything less then compete world domination and to convert all people to Islam. I say stop buying their oil and cut them off from the rest of the world. Force them into a timeout just as you would a spoiled child. Maybe then they would be willing to live in the civilized world. After all they can't eat sand.

Not one of the above talkbacks offered any solutions let alone compassion - all stories have two sides. None of you (including myself) has any idea what it is really like and what is actually going on. Intelligen people don't read one article and believe it.

The whole situation in the Middle East is more complicated than many of you seem to, or perhaps choose to, understand. The Israelis are guilty of plenty of crimes as well. To the poster above, I don't think many in 'Western Countries' feel a particular connection to Judaism or any other religion merely through blood links, so it's perhaps more of a North American thing. Final point, at the top of the box where I wrote this, there's a declaration about incitement and slander, which many of you are very close to braking, if not done so. There's a thinning line between your comments and those of the people in the story.
