1. Palestinan's treated much better.
Marcel ,   Florida   (07.04.06)
All this betrayal of fellow Jews for what peace ? Only lie built upon lie until the delusion brings complete darkness. One of the major claims then-Prime Minister Ariel Sharon made to the Israeli public prior to implementing the country's historic withdrawal from the Gaza Strip 10 months ago was that if the Jewish state needed to re-enter the territory in response to Palestinian attacks the international community would understand and would support any Israeli action. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has made similar claims regarding his proposed withdrawal from Judea and Samaria, mountainous terrain within rocket-firing range of Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and the country's international airport. But with Israeli ground troops this week entering the Gaza Strip in response to an attack of an Israeli military station and the kidnapping of an Israeli soldier, countries around the world have been urging restraint and are demanding an immediate Israeli retreat. The ground troops so far have not conducted any operation other than to enter Gaza.
2. A Terrible Story
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (07.04.06)
If this story is true, it is an awful indictment not only against the Israel Government but against those leaders (from within and from without their community) who misled these people. And they were misled. And they are continued to be misled, in more ways than one. Remember, "Disappoint and depression are the results of unfulfilled expectations".
3. surprised?
shari ,   tal aviv   (07.04.06)
if i were kicked out of my home with smiling soldiers all around me and newspaper people who didn't give a damn and sent to a hotel or tent or non permanent housing - i think i would have ended it all along time ago! these are some of the bravest people in israel. think that for years they were living under kasamim day after day!
4. Poor babies,
Secular Sabra ,   Israel   (07.04.06)
My heart's breaking . If life is so tough for them here maybe they should go back to America and Russia. ??
5. Post-traumatic Stress Disorder
Sammy ,   New York   (07.04.06)
It seems obvious that many of these unfortunate individuals and families are suffering from severe forms of post-traumatic stress disorder. The stresses caused by the Sharon (and now Olmert) governments on these poor people are enormous. Who would ever have thought Jews are capable of such cruelty to other Jews, whose only 'crime' was the desire to live fully Jewish lives in biblical lands. For shame. What must be done--and wont be done--is that the Israeli government has to recognize these people and treat them with dignity and with appropriate care, rather than castigating them. The media can help. Even the poor teen who was brutally killed just last week was termed a "settler" by Ynet and others--as if this designation justifies barbaric murder. This sort of castigation must stop, and true help must start! There are also non-governmental groups that are in desperate need of funds to forward to these people. Don't wait for the government to do the right thing--they wont, not so long as the Prime Minister's daughter stands on street corners and calls the Israel Chief of Staff a murderer. The mindset is not there.
6. Go back
Mike ,   Israel   (07.04.06)
All the settlers needed to do is make Aliah to Gaza if they wanted to stay there so much. I'm sure Hamas would treat them much better. If the settlers dont like it they could alway move back to the states where they came from
7. Bring them back,
Gaza ,   Former Gush Qatif   (07.04.06)
8. Sympathy for the settlers
Dominique ,   Gibraltar   (07.04.06)
These people were selfish and thoughtless enough to live a privileged life in the middle of gazan poverty. Not only that, they were openly hostile and racist to the gazans on whose soil they built their subsidised villas and extravagant swimming pools. Sympathy? No!
9. Because of the Parents
Dr Fuks ,   Israel   (07.04.06)
What did the Parents expect ? They encouraged their kids to disbelieve that it could happen. They convinced them that by resisting the kids could prevent it.Now they have the biggest guilt feelings in the world. We all saw the kids that the Parents dressed up with Yellow Magen Davids like in the concentration camps, who thought that the army would kill them. The Parents traumatised their own kids instead of helping them to adjust to a new reality. Yes, the kids need help, but don't let those abusive, manipulative Parents get their hands on any more money.
10. The parents refuse to accept the truth
Dave ,   Raanana   (07.04.06)
so what chance do the children have ? I know quite a few evacuees, and most still believe that they will retrurn to their " EDEN" in the Gush. There is no help for their children to adjust, no wonder they are screwed up.
11. Now settlers know stress of living like real Israelis
Karen R ,   USA   (07.04.06)
Boy, those poor settlers. They have to look for jobs, housing, deal with their kids' problems, hassle with the government agencies, get no subsidies..... Welcome to Israel. And now that Israel isn't pouring money down the rathole of the settlements, maybe there will be enough to fix some of the things wrong inside the Green Line. And of course the kids were traumatized. #9 has it right - they were brainwashed by their parents and teachers, not taught how to live in the real world. Now, as usual, the kids are paying the price and the adults are looking for sympathy (and money - why do the settlers always ask for more shekels?)
12. Opposit
Palestine ,   Ex-Gush Qatif   (07.04.06)
on the other hand out youth are enjoying the freedomg and the new space added to our beloved Gaza Strip, Happy 4th of July lol
13. This tragedy is happening
keren ,   sao paulo   (07.04.06)
because govt. forgot them, after uprooting them, and the society is forgetting itself as well. Education in Israel has decreased; society is looking for values that are not their owns;drugs producers and dealears are, apparently, being let to act freely, etc. Israel should,in my opinion, start purifying itself by getting rid of what is making society rotten ,in all its areas, and start following its own ancient and good values ,not foreigners ones. We should't be scared or ashamed for having an special GIFT.We should stop wasting this special GIFT. No reason to be scared on what is true. I think Israel and Jewish People will only completely succed in the day we will assume our best and stop being afraid of that. Am I wrong? Well, that's my opinion!
14. What? Surprised?
John Lalor ,   Tel-Aviv   (07.04.06)
How idiotic for anyone to think that these people would be treated any different. Once the State - any State - is done with you, you're on your own. In this case, without the livelihood, social network, home you had before. Sharon was pathetically wrong to uproot Israeli Gazans - for humanitarian reasons such as this, and militaristic reasons such as we are seeing every day since Disengegement. But, every new day, fools wake up and think, "this time, the State will do what is right, and take care of us."
15. You vile anti-Israel Israelis
John Lalor ,   Tel-Aviv   (07.04.06)
There are so many of you, I won't bother naming names. You loathsome, anti-religious creatures. You fail to see that, even if you are athiest, that the positioning of settlements in Samaria, Juea & Gaza is militarily advantageous to THE WHOLE OF ISRAEL! Do you capitulating cowards not see that, even if - IF - the expenditure is disproportionately high for settlers, it is a message to terrorists and anti-Jews that Samaria, Gaza & Judea are not gonna become Arab? Finally, some complain about the money spent on these settlements. Were Israel not such a quasi-socialist country, it would be able to fund these settlements with EASE.
16. ALL ISRAELIS ARE SETTLERS
yoni ,   jerusalem   (07.04.06)
we are all settlers. this entire country began and was inhabited by strong willed people creating settlements which turned into cities. the gush katif residents are citizens who had jobs and worked very hard. on top of that they lived in dengerous places to protect the entire country from terrorists. it seems tha nobody learned their lesson. we pulled out and now instead of bug free lettuce we have a bomb building factory and an uncontrolled population of terrorists who are free to do what they want. it has bit us already with on esoldier kidnapped and a strengthening enemy in our midst. if the shomron is given away it will be the end of israel.
17. to Secular Sabra
Drew ,   soon in Israel   (07.04.06)
You are disgusting. I'm making aliyah in 3 weeks and then being drafted to serve in the IDF for two years (voluntarily!) People like YOU need to go back to wherever your grandparents or greatgrandparents came from, because obviously you don't give a damn about the beautiful place you live in or in any Jew who is more religious than you. I will leave the IDF before being told to protect the likes of your filth.
18. #12
Mike ,   Israel   (07.04.06)
Awww its so nice to see an Arab calling Gaza "beloved Gaza strip" Only a Muslim can call a toilet "beloved" Imaoooo Happy 4th cousin and enjoy the fire works Imaoo
19. #13 keren sao paulo
Mike ,   Israel   (07.04.06)
Oh my God Keren you cant be serioius, i hope your not. What on earth are you talking about? what do you know about Israeli society? Why do you think you have the right to even say one word about Israei society. You have no clue what your saying what gift are you talking about. Never mind dont answer that. stay in sao paulo that would be your gift to the Israeli people.
20. Because they didn't fight back
Judea Samaria ,   Israel   (07.04.06)
Because they went like sheep to slaughter, these fine people lost all. Nobody cares. Had they fought back and empowered themselves, hundreds of thousands of other Israelis would have joined them and the government would not have been able to do what they did. We learned a lesson from their tragic mistake. It won't happen again.
21. Is CIVIL WAR on the way?
John Lalor ,   Tel-Aviv   (07.04.06)
Say, if, despite all the evidence of its danger, Olmert is stupid enough to go ahead with the "realignment" of Judea & Samaria, what do you think will happen? 70-80,000 people is a HELL of a lot more than 8,000 in Gaza, and look how difficult that was...
22. GLOBAL ISLAMIC TERROR STATE SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED in GAZA
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (07.04.06)
Global Islamic terror state one has been successfully installed in Gaza with an Al Qaeda presence and Iranian Revolutionary Guard units training Fatah and Hamas in the Jew-cleansed areas of Gaza. Since the Gaza surrender, more weaponry has been brought into Gaza in the past ten months than in the previous 38 years. In the Jew-cleansed areas of global terrorist paradise Gaza, IslamoFascist religious supremacists enjoy total freedom to attack and fire a daily barrage of rockets on the defenseless Jewish civilians in Sderot and other Israeli communities. The U.S. EU, UN, Russia and Israel's leaders are determined to duplicate the success of Gaza with the installation of global Islamic terror state two in Judea and Samaria and parts of Jerusalem, bringing Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, other Jewish cities and the international airport within rocket firing range of the Islamists. Will Jews continue to accept being murdered and never-ending war, or will they surround the Knesset and demand that their barbaric enemies are defeated? They call the war against the Jews, the peace process.
24. Mike & fellow nasties
Gila ,   City of Gold   (07.04.06)
Check out the headlines above. Do you have any vile things to say to the folks in Ashkelon? "Boo Hoo, let them pack up and go back to Russia and the US and Morocco!" Words are like Qassams: most of the time they miss, merely making their intended victims feel miserable. But every once in a while they blow up in the terrorists' face. Mike, watch out for "work accidents."
25. ISRAEL Plans On DUPLICATING TRAGEDY in JUDEA & SAMARIA
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (07.04.06)
An estimated 100,000 Jews in Judea and Samaria are designated for ruthless Jew-cleansing. The impoverished Jewish refugees from Gaza are financially obligated to pay the mortgages on their homes Israel destroyed. Some of the refugees still live in tents. Pogroms. Deportations. The stealing of Jewish land and assets is the way Jews have always been treated. It is no more acceptable to be a Jew in Israel than it was in Europe. Jews suffered over 80 expulsions from European countries. The vile racism and rabid Jew-hate culminated in the Holocaust.
