1. Hamas has signed its own death warrant
Karen R ,   USA   (07.04.06)
However, even as the IDF roots Hamas and its allies out of Gaza, it must keep civilian casualties to a minimum, and conduct itself properly. A war is a war, but it must be conducted morally - no matter what the other side has done. Nevertheless, the operation must continue until the Qassams have ended.
2. Better Alive Then Loved By the World
Adina kutnicki ,   US   (07.04.06)
Okay now folks. The rockets are getting closer and closer. Tel Aviv, Jerusalem & Haifa are next in line. The urgent question is - will the people now DEMAND that the Gaza strip becomes a wasteland? Or, will the Israeli regime continually and immorally place the lives of genocidal enemies ('civilians') before its own people? The world wishes Israel will disappear no matter what they do. Therefore, why not protect as many Jews as possible, and tell the others to go to hell? By the way, today's antisemitism/antizionism is more acute than in years, and matches pre Hitler. Therefore, doesn't it stand to reason that the more appeasement oriented Israel has become, the more despised Jews have become? Just wondering .....

10. Israel fires rocket into Gaza school
Marcel ,   Florida   (07.04.06)
Could you imagine if Israel had fired a rocket into a palestinian school ? The world court, the U.N. the U.S. and the E.U. would go for Israel's throat and seek blood. We don't hear a word of protest from any leaders, not a word from the fake peacemaker Bush. Only when Israel gets serious to defeat the terrorists do we hear the world cry a river. It reveals the double standard ,the evil of the world community and why the Jewish prophets wrote that G-d would judge ALL the nations on the hills of Israel. Zechariah 12-14

12. Surprise!
Ken Dalton ,   Toronto, Canada   (07.04.06)
While it was obvious to everyone that the retreat from Gaza would lead to the bombardment of Ashkelon, the timing is a surprise...who could have imagined it would start in less than a year?

Sula Ephrain ,   Kota Tingi, Malaysia   (07.04.06)
Please don't hide your head in the sand like an ostrich: Only yesterday Israel fired a "real" missile into a university in Gaza (and that wasn't one of those 'crude' projectiles the other side is hurling into Israel in a bid to be free).
16. One set of rules
Yossi ,   Canada   (07.04.06)
Trying to deal with palestinians while holding compassionate morals, is clearly not working. The only true fair response is to set up rockets or missiles of our own in Ashkelon and Sederot. For every rocket fired on Israeli civilians, a missile is fired back at palestinian civilians. Of course accurate powerful Israeli missles will reap considerably more havoc, and eventually rocket fire would end. Or we can hold out breath and wait.
17. The palestinian resistance is strong and legitimate

...who could have imagined it would start in less than a year? Surely not the blind fools who run Israel into ruin ,surely not the idiots on the left. They really thought the Islamists would change. The left sure were deluded and continue to be so. We on the right have been warning the deaf dumb and blind Jes since Oslo Sept of 93 of the grave dangers We warned about Ehud's cowardly retreat in the dark of night and how this would emboldent Israel enemeis. We warned the deaf dumb and blind about the suicidal dangers of the Road Map and Sharon's Gaza retreat and appeasment and surrender and how this would emboldent the Palestinain terrorists and Abbas their leader. WE HAVE BEEN RIGHT ALL ALONG, and you have been wrong all along and yet you continue in your insanity. The arrogant, godless, evil left refused to listen or hear our warnings. Now pride goes before destruction and if the left does not turn away from their evil ways they will be destroyed . Only a faithful remnant remains Israel !
19. The dangers of "international law"
Phil ,   US   (07.04.06)
So-called "international law" is a great threat to freedom and prevents democracies of uprooting and stamping out terror and evil regimes. Somehow, those who advocate proportionate response and making sure that civilians are spared, seem to forget about these concepts when Islamic terrorism is involved and the victims are Israeli. Likewise, winning the hearts and minds of the people was tried in VietNam and is now the favorite slogan of the liberal press. Well, the US and its allies did not trry to win WWII by following international law or by attempting to win the hearts and minds of the nazis or Japanese racists. Their strategy was to first win the war by crushing the enemy and then winning the hearts and minds of the Germans and Japanese. England and the US both bombed civilian targets and killed thousands of Japanese and German civilians in an attempt to erode morale, destroy the country's infrastructure and to soften the enemy up so that allied sodiers would not have to face as much danger. Since WWII, the terrorists continue to murder civilians, mutilate bodies, and act with unspeakable cruelty. They hide within the civilian population and thus capturing or killing them becomes much more difficult because of the fear of civilian casulties. Countries like cowardly and corrupt Switzerland are quick to make moral judgements about any Israeli military (or nonmilitary) response to Palestinian violence and do not consider that the Palestinian people are complicit in the terrorism by electing Hamas, a group that aids and abets violence towards Israel and openly declares its goal of destroying Israel. Obviously, democracies will not allow the types of nazi brutality of the gas chambers or the machine gunning of the Jews at Babi Yar. Neither will they allow their soldiers to conduct a Japanese style Bataan death march or allow a lynching of innocent civilians such as the Palestinians blood soaked mutilation of the two Israeli reservists. But, they have to do something to stop the terror and unfortunately sometimes innocent civilians as well as terrorist supporters will be killed. If we fought WWII with the same types of constraints that international law imposes now, Europe would be still under nazi domination and Asia would be dominated by the militarist and fascist Japanese.
20. BLESSING IN DISGUISE
BRANT ,   Hilton Head USA   (07.04.06)
After a few more of these longer-range Qassams land in heavily populated areas such as Ashqelon, chances are that more nations and more journalists will pay attention and, what Israel has never been able to do with its own disgraceful excuse for a PR program will be done for it by others. That scenario has served the Palis well until now. It is becoming increasingly evident; through things like Russian and Egyptian demands on the PA; through other Arab nations pointing at Syria and, most notably from the votes of Australia, Japan, Canada, Britain, all of the e-u and Swizerland WITH ISRAEL in the UN Humans Rights Council vote last week, that despite all the noisy talkbacks by the anti-Jew, anti-Israel crowd out there, the tide is turning.

Just it was a university funded and raised by hamas, and it was during night when no one is there so no one will be hurt. So please crawl back under the stone you came from.

Ben Ami ,   The Netherlands   (07.04.06)
Dear Mr. Sula Ephrain, Before asking others to refrain from behaving like ostriches, it might behoove you to look into what you write. Yesterday Israel attacked the Islamic University at a time when not a single person was present in order to avoid casualties, and indeed not one Palestinian was injured in the strike; Today, the Palestinians launched Kassam rockets at an Israeli school during school hours with the deliberate intent to kill and maim as many children as possible. Moreover, Israel struck the Islamic University because it believed the place was being used to plot terrorist activities, while surely no similar allegations can be leveled against the primary school that the Palestinians bombed today. Finally, I ask how launching Kassams, however "crude" they may be (but still able to murder, as they have done time and again), at schools in Israel proper could possibly help the Palestinians on their road to freedom? I would have thought that Gaza, a place where a few weeks ago there was no Israeli presence whatsoever, would have benefited more from keeping quiet instead of provoking Israeli incursions through kidnappings and Kassams. You may think that bombing an empty University is equivalent to bombing primary schools laden with children, but that would be rather osrichesque on your part.

a kassam has made a fly of 15 km to bomb ashkelon and an idf source say that it is a normal kassam (which fly ten kilometers) !!!!! it is a problem.... In my opinion there is some pinocchios in the idf headquarters.... Poor israel...

What world do you live in? Israel has hit schools intentionally 3 times lately. You not knowing about it does not prove it did not happen. Your eyes must have had selective blindness. Actually the whole world would know about this one and not know about schools in Gaza which quit the opposite of your point. Once again you prove to be another fanatic who has no interest in calming down the crisis.

meni   (07.04.06)
lets remember the real issue -- only a few months ago israel withdrew from gaza, uprooted settlements, said to palestinians -- we withdraw, you are now free to exist in gaza completely without israel. no more occupation. instead of following this goodwill with goodwill, the response is missiles, missiles, missiles, and kidnapping. obviously, this was met with 'real' missiles. eventually the crap is going to fly.
