1. In Holland the white folks simply move out
daniel ,   amsterdam   (07.06.06)
That's what they do here. When the Arabs move in, the whites move out. From the centre of Amsterdam they fled to the suburbs. From the suburbs they fled to Almere. I guess in Israel there is no place to run away, so people instead take action. That's a lot better.
2. I live in the French Hill...
Secular Jew ,   French Hill   (07.06.06)
and the Arabs are indeed moving in due to greedy jews renting/selling out to get $. They are unconsiderate of their neighbours sometimes having loud parties till 3AM leaving no choice but to call the police to make them turn off the music. Also the arab villages surrounding the French Hill are in a frenzy of illegal building and no less than 7 mosques blast the french hill with their muezzin competion every night. But there is also another 'invasion' underway- the brooklyn black hats are buying up the French Hill too moving in from Ramat Eshkol...between the Devil & the Fire! Luckily I'm finishing up my doctorate this year and leaving jerusalem in the trustworthy hands of the arab and jewish lunatics!
3. Racist Country!!
Chris ,   Boulder, CO   (07.06.06)
If this was heard in the US or anywhere else, they'll be outraged by it! Are we living in the 21st century or what?!! Extremly sad.. And Danial, just stay in the Netherlands and keep your horrific experiences to yourself..
4. Bad Article Name
Ronen Noy ,   Modi'in, Israel   (07.06.06)
The name implies that Ynet supports the banning and expulsion of Arabs from predominantly-Jewish areas. The article itself, on the other hand, is simply a report on a current phenomen, which in my opinion is not acceptable. But please don't feed the bleeding leftists and trolls who lurk the talkback boards...Thanks.
5. In Israel Only Jews Thrown Out !
Marcel ,   Florida   (07.06.06)
A weak and defeatist Jewish leadership only bow's to outside presure which demands that the Jews suffer in their struggle for the no peace of the Road Map final solution. The game is rigged against the Jews as always and only weak leaders are now permitted to rule over a nation in surrender mode to the Islamic terrorists. Israel wastes it's time to show the world how self loathing they are in a bid to gain acceptance .This is Israel's greatest waste of time and greatest failure. Eventually, Israel will be forced to turn to the Holy One of Israel for help. Thats what this is all about.
6. Why cant they make E Jerusalem Nice ?

7. Get real #3
Leon ,   Atlanta, USA   (07.06.06)
I hope you're enjoying the acid kool-aid in liberal la-la-land. Daniel is describing the same "white-flight" that has been taking place in the USA for decades. Furthermore, stone-thrower, it has nothing to do with racism - it is a cultural preference for those who leave. If a culture extols violence, eshews responsibility ,and champions ignorance, then my pro-busing friend, WE MOVE AWAY. Remember choice? It seems to be important to you when you can't deal with pregnancy.
8. 1 daniel: you cannot compare Holand to Jerusalem
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (07.06.06)
you want Jews to move out ? you must be kidding with your post Well you may want to give Holland and let Muslims take over ???? Jerusalem is the Capital of Israel - so you want Israeli Jews to give up their Capital ? You really have NO clue about Israel and it's history. The term "Palestinian" is itself a masterful twisting of history. To portray themselves as indigenous, Arab settlers adopted the name of an ancient Mediterranean tribe, the Philistines ("Invaders" in Hebrew), that disappeared out over almost 3000 years ago. The connection between this tribe and modern day Arabs is nil. Romans, in order to conceal their shame and anger with rebellious regions, changed the references to Judea and Samaria by naming them Palestine. 1. Nationhood and Jerusalem - <<< JERUSALEM ...Israel became a nation in the 14th century B.C.E. Two thousand years before the rise of Islam. 2. Since 1272 B.C.E. the Jews have had dominion over the land for up to 1,000 years with a continuous Jewish presence in the land for the past 3,300 years. 3. The only Arab dominion since the Arab invasion and conquest in 635 C.E. lasted no more than 22 years. 4. King David founded the city of Jerusalem. - I REPEAT JERUSALEM .....Mohammed never came to Jerusalem. 5. For over 3,000 years, Jerusalem has been the Jewish capital. I REPEAT JEWISH CAPITAL ....... Jerusalem has never been the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Even when the Jordanians occupied Jerusalem, they never sought to make it their capital and Arab leaders did not come to visit. 6. Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in Tanach, the Jewish Holy Scriptures. Jerusalem is not mentioned once in the Koran. 7. Jews pray facing Jerusalem. Muslims pray facing Mecca (often with their backs toward Jerusalem). 8. In 1854, according to a report in the New York Tribune, Jews constituted two-thirds of the population of that holy city. 9. In 1867, Mark Twain took a tour of Palestine. This is how he described that land: A desolate country whose soil is rich enough but is given over wholly to weeds. A silent, mournful expanse. We never saw a human. 10. In 1882, official Ottoman Turk census figures showed that, in the entire Land of Israel, there were only 141 000 Muslims, both Arab and non-Arab. 11. A travel guide to Palestine and Syria was published in 1906 by Karl Baedeker; estimated the total population of Jerusalem at 60,000, of whom 7,000 were Muslims, 13,000 were Christians and 40,000 were Jews. 12. In 1922, with what was widely acknowledged as the illegal separation of Transjordan, the Jews were forbidden to settle on almost 77% of the Palestine, while Arab settlement went unrestricted and encouraged by British mandatory authority. Did you know that Saudi Arabia was not created until 1913, Lebanon until 1920? Iraq did not exist as a nation until 1932, Syria until 1941; the borders of Jordan were established in 1946 and Kuwait in 1961. Any of these nations that would say Israel is only a recent arrival would have to deny their own rights as recent arrivals as well. They did not exist as countries. They were all under the control of the Turks. Over 80% of the original British Mandate land was given to Arabs without population transfer of Arabs from the land designated for Jews.

No Arabs wanted in secular Israeli neighborhoods! No Jews either!
12. in the true Israel
Yisraeli   (07.06.06)
when one day it will be known as The Kingdom of Israel - there will be NO foreign ownership period only by Jews. All foreign properties will be nationalised to the Kingdom except for embassy's. That means churchs will have to pay rent. That means the Greek Orthodox ownership of land the Knesset sits upon and the Presidents house will belong to Israel's Kingdom and not at the mercy of foreign political interests. Dont like it? too bad. Go buy elsewhere. The Vatican with their vast fortunes robbed of many Jews in history will not be able to buy out Israel from under its feet so to speak. In many countries around the world they have this law to protect ownership of theyre country future and heritrage against the vast fortunes around the world willing to buy out anothers heritage. The Land of Eretz Yisrael is not for sale to any non Jews. Jews are her only custodians, no one else. So call me racist I care little, but at least this way I know Israel will exist with her culture and heritage for many centuries in the future and cannot be bought out.

ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF THE DOUBLE STANDARD: DID YOU KNOW, YOU WHO IS CALLING ISRAEL A "A RACIST COUNTRY" THAT JEWS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BUY IN EAST JERUSALEM AND UNTIL 1967 WHERE NOT ALLOWED TO EVEN ENTER EAST JERUSALEM AND JEWISH HOLY PLACES? BEFORE YOU MAKE SUCH A COMMENT, WHY DON'T YOU ENLIGHTEN YOURSELF! THIS IS NOT A QUESTION OF RACISM BUT OF NATIONAL SECURITY. IF THE ARABS BOUGHT OUT EVERYTHING, THEY WOULD TAKE OVER AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT TO DO. ISRAEL IS A VERY SMALL COUNTRY. THIS DANGER WOULD NEVER EXIST IN THE USA SO DON'T COMPARE! THERE ARE ARAB VILLAGES AND TOWNS ALL OVER ISRAEL ESPECIALLY IN THE GALIL REGION, AND THEY LIVE THERE IN PEACE, HAVE ISRAELI CITIZENSHIPS,WORK AND HAVE REPRESENTATION IN THE KNESSET, WHERE THEY BLAST THE GOVERNMENT AND BACK UP THE TERRORISTS, WHERE IN OTHER COUNTRIES, NAMELY THE USA THEY WOULD BE JAILED FOR TRAHISON. ISRAEL IS A DEMOCRATIC STATE, THE ONLY ONE IN THE REGION, BUT IT IS A STATE WHO MUST DO EVERYTHING IT CAN TO PROTECT ITSELF FROM ITS ENEMIES AND FIGHT TERRORISM. SO CHRIS FROM BOULDER, I SUGGEST THAT YOU READ UP ON THE SUBJECT, BEFORE YOU MAKE SUCH A COMMENT! Canadian, Ontario
14. #8 what a string of lies
Rustum ,   London, UK   (07.06.06)
New day, same old rubbish from Geneva, defending the indefensible. It is totally and completely horrific that residents in parts of Jerusalem do not want different ethnicities living among them. Ms ToeragWater, who knows everything, has often stated how proud she is that Switzerland "throws out " potential Arab/Moslem immigrants - so we all know her disgusting agenda - a nice Araberrein Switzerland. You might also notice that her maximalist and atrocious anti-moslem statements, as well as this perpetual repetition of "Palestineisamyth" are written from the hallowed sanctity of that newsly anti-semitic European country, Switzerlandistan. We might also notice that the most maximalist Arab-haters never consider immigrating to Israel because they know that they would be laughed out of Israeli society with their scurrilous views. I'd like to see the reaction from Ms ToeragWater when she is told that she is not wanted in a particular neighbourhood because of her ethnicity/beliefs. Might she scream loudly? Your whole sordid and puerile campaign is doomed to total and abject failure - and the only glimmer of light in Mrs Gabrielle Amayreh-goldewater's horizon is the thought that more Israeli soldiers/citizens will die so that she can feel 'correct' in her absurd racial assumptions. There are many many nasty characters here, but few reach the heights of the Goldwater report. Much too long spent trawling the sewers of the Arab world's website and much too long spent nurturing her own particular neo-Nazi brand of Arab/Moslem hatred. Allah yarhumha
15. #5 - what lies
Rustum ,   London, UK   (07.06.06)
"In Israel only Jews thrown out!" You seem to have forgotten the hundreds of thousands of dispossessed Palestinian Moslems and Christians who were unceremoniously thrown out in 1948 and 1967 and in the years inbetween and thereafter. Your particular brand of lying fascism might work in Florida - but I don't think many people will think for a millisecond that your brain is connected to your typing fingers.
16. One Sided Article
David ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.06.06)
The Arabs don't want Jews in their neighborhoods, either. It cuts both ways.
17. Says it all
lem ,   Wales   (07.06.06)
Well, that just about sums up the Israeli attitude - narrow minded racist cnuts, force fed so many lies and so much propaganda by their government that only a few can see through the fog and realise how unproductive irrational hatred is.
18. Racist attitude
Daniel van Dalen ,   Jerusalem   (07.06.06)
I don't understand this. Jews buy buildings in Arab neighborhoods, like in Silwan or the Muslim Quarter of the Old City, and that's supposedly fine. But when Arabs want to move into secular Israeli areas, people go crazy. Why??? I live in a chareidi neighborhood and no Arab would want to live there, and no secular Jew either. Simply because they wouldn't feel at home. As far as I, resident of Jerusalem, am concerned, Arabs can live anywhere they want. And Jews should be able to live anywhere they want also. Just a note: the article talks about Pisgat Ze'ev which lies adjacent to Jaffo Street. Well, if we needed any proof of Ynetnews' intelligence, this provides it. Silly Tel Avivishe tzionishe chiloinim.

Ms. Goldwater is stating real facts of history that by all of your efforts, you cannot erase! There is no hatred like the one that many Arabs or Muslims have for the Jewish People and the State of Israel. People like yourself"Rustum" hate it when they encounter the truth, because it differs from the lies and fabrications that they were raised by. This is too bad. All the information from Ms. Goldwater is the absolute truth. This is history, and "Rustum" too bad for you and the likes of you, history cannot be changed! No Christians and Arabs were "thrown out" the Christians are still there in their churches and they still live in many cities such as Nazareth in peace and in harmony, and the Arabs, (not Palestinians) as there was no such thing as Palestinians, the ones who did not run away, still live in Israel, in their towns and villages and enjoy Israeli citizenships and representation in the Israeli Parliament. The Jews were the ones who were thrown out of their homeland in the past. Ms. Goldwater, I always enjoy reading your postings.
21. Israel the only Middle East Democracy
EK ,   Toronto   (07.06.06)
What a joke! Similar to American Democracy in the 50's and 60's. TO be honest, Israel is and will continue to lose respect in the international community, and cries of apartheid and racism are unfortunately proving true. When will the Israeli government wake-up and realize that their society is falling apart. Zionism is not meant to be racist. Herzl would be extremely disappointed in what his and the chalutzims' dreams have come to. It's weird how even here in Toronto, Jews of CDN descent and Jews of Israeli descent hardly communicate. Just this year there were two Yom Ha'atzmaut celebrations one at the JCC on Bathurst Street in a heavy populated Jewish area, and the second only advertised in the weekly Hebrew paper SHALOM TORONTO, in Scarborough in the middle of an outdoor Chinese Mall.
22. #6 - a very good point
Karen R ,   USA   (07.06.06)
Why are these Arabs moving out of East Jerusalem into hostile Jewish neighborhoods? Because they want they children to go to decent schools, the electricity to be constant, the garbage to be collected, to have enough living space to turn around in. I suspect many of those complaining are Americans who left the US because they couldn't stand African-Americans. Too bad. If they don't like it they can go back to the US (and bother my neighbors, I suppose). Non-Jews are people too, and in a democracy they have equal rights - including the right to live next-door to you and me. My neighborhood is very mixed, and the people who can afford to live here are quite respectable, thank you, regardless of their ethnicity or skin color. If there had been talk of fears of terrorism, that might have been understandable, but simply to say, "I don't like them" isn't a valid reason.
23. RUSTUM you moron.Did you know ?

That the British invented racism. The English were great at it .Ask the Indians, the Africans, the South Africans. You talk too much.....
24. Do not rent to Haman (Arabs)!!!
MARK ,   USA   (07.06.06)
You will be renting to satan!
25. Arabs and Jews
Chai ,   Israel/US   (07.06.06)
This has nothing to do with racism, for all of you screaming. For those of you that do not live in Israel you again speak with little or no knowledge of the subject. Arabs are number one very unclean, they keep livestock in their dwellings, look at East Jerusalem , number 2 how would you feel if you had someone move in beside you that could potentially be "terrorist" , someone who wants to see you dead. I don't think you would be comfortable. Number 3 Arabs believe it is their given right to steal from Jews... read their koran. I am not a racist but I too think they should not move into the West as we are not welcome in the East. Once the terror subsides and we can cohabitat as friends then and only then do I see this working. In Haifa it is Jew and Arab living side by side, but Jerusalem is a much different place.
26. Bull...
George ,   Ramallah, Palestine   (07.06.06)
The holy land is claimed by jews, christians and moslem.Only who has tolerance to all these three can live anywhere in the holy land. Its for all of us.if the Jewish extremists think its only theirs, they need to be thrown in the mediterranean soon. God, they perfected the lies and after a while they believed them.
27. #23 - YOU SEEM TO HAVE FORGOTTEN
Arie   (07.06.06)
The brits tried to annihilate the native Americans, the natives in what is now Canada, the Aborigines of Australian, AND the Jewish survivors of the Shoah by sinking refugee ships!
28. Given Arab Track Record..
Michael Ghostwolf ,   Bella Vista, AR, US   (07.06.06)
I know its not politically correct to keep Arabs from moving to a Jewish neighborhood. But the are in the middle of a war, Arabs want to kill the Jews. I can't blame people for being nervous. In a perfect world this would not be happening. I can see both sides of this issue and its a very complex one. I'm not Jewish and my gut reaction to seeing a person in muslim dress is to think "terrorist".

I TOO, LIVE IN TORONTO AND YOUR EXAMPLES OF YOM HA'ATZMAUT CELEBRATIONS DO NOT PROVE ANYTHING. THERE ARE FAR MORE CELEBRATIONS OF THIS IMPORTANT EVENT BY MANY ORGANIZATIONS IN TORONTO, SO WHAT? ANY HOLIDAY OF ANY RELIGIOUS GROUP IN THE CITY IS BEING CELEBRATED BY ALL KINDS OF ORGANIZATIONS. AND WHO CARES THAT THERE WAS A CELEBRATION IN THE MIDDLE OF AN OUTDOOR CHINESE MALL? YOU ARE FISHING, MY FRIEND.WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY? ISRAEL'S DEMECRACY IS NO JOKE. IN ANY ARAB COUNTRY, ANYONE SPEAKING AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT WOULD SOON BE A HEAD SHORTER AND EVERYONE KNOWS THAT, WHEREAS IN ISRAEL, ANYONE CAN EXPRESS THEIR OPINIONS FREELY. AMONG THE SO CALLED "PALESTINIANS" IF ANYONE IS SUSPECTED OF COOPERATING WITH ISRAEL, THEY IMMEDIATELY LYNCH THEM AND DRAG THEIR BODIES ACROSS THEIR TOWNS.YOU ARE CERTAINLY MISINFORMED AND THAT IS TOO BAD. Toronto resident
30. Arabs wanting in on West Jerusalem
Vardit ,   Toronto, Canada   (07.06.06)
Radical Muslims should be kept out and all other Arabs should be allowed in with a clause they have to sign that they will NOT claim in the future years that Jews never lived there and it was ALWAYS Arab land. There are Arabs who DO want to live in peace.. give them that opportunity with the clause I have mentioned.
