1. Shame and outrage
Aveer ,   Haifa   (07.06.06)
what is the morals of the this story , the mother and the father of this IDF killed in combat in GAZA wants the Air force to kill thousands of poor Palestinians ...so her son and others in IDF not be in danger zone .....what a shame ,instead they should be saying to PM Olmert , stop this insane war and talk to the leadership of the Palestinians and strart by releasing young Palestinian childern and woman from Israeli jails , stop stealing land and humilating Palestinians ,so all our IDF troops will feel safe .
2. # 1 you should be ashamed!
David ,   Tel Aviv   (07.06.06)
How dare you criticize a father who just lost his son? You know better not to judge people in time of pain. And losing a son is an awful pain indeed. I have so many cuss words for you for saying this but Ynet will not publish it. You are a stupid, ignorant, insensitive, moron! Despite that, I wish that you will never feel, even remotely, a fraction of what this family is going though. Metumtam
3. They sent my son instead of Air Force. Why?
Shosh ,   Yahud   (07.06.06)

4. #1 you are not for real.
Bella ,   Israel   (07.06.06)
About the pooooooor Palestinians. They overwelming voted for Hamas, remember? Unlike other people through time, rather than rise up on their own tyranical hate filled leaders they rise against the wrong people. A little reminder of how those poooor Palestinians really feel: http://www.pmw.org.il/home.htm Look around and if you choose you will see the real truth. In the mean time get this straight: There is no Palestinian leadership. None! The only leadership there is, is one which incubates and supports terror. Thank you. No one wants to see a real masacre but time is up. Enough. Hundreds of missles have been shot into Israel from Gaza AFTER Israel left. Furthermore, I will not waste my time with you to point out how much Israel has given in the quest for peace just to have peace failed.
5. I agree with the parents
James ,   london uk   (07.06.06)
This man's blood is on Olmert, Peretz and Peres' hands along with those who shamefully elected these officials into gov't. More troops will die and the mistakes of Jenin, where IDF lives were deemed less important than palestinian lives will be repeated. The shame on the gov't but more importantly shameon Israel and those who consistently voter for defeatist left wing gov'ts. YOU are also to blame.
6. How many Pale-women,children aim for IDF deaths
robert ,   California   (07.06.06)
#1, How many of these women and children you want to release are intent on, and able to, kill. Placing IDF soldiers in danger is to reduce deaths of innocents. That policy is what makes Isreal different than the Palestinian terrorists. isn't it?
7. It is not the time
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (07.06.06)
It is not the time to cry and complain. It is the time to retaliate and finish the job that we started. I agree we should not send soliders there we should nuke the entire Gaza strip
9. Aveer
Tsedek ,   Israel   (07.06.06)
As much as I am for releasing prisoners in administrative detention that are there for months or years without a trial so their innocence or guilt are not proven, Israel must never give in to blackmail. That's one road that I refuse Israel to take. Tse. My heartfelt condolences for this family.
10. to #1
jason white ,   afula,israel   (07.06.06)
The air force and the artillery should have been used to kill as many palis as possible. To destroy their houses, schools, ect. They should pay a heavy price for the terror.
11. Shame & Outrage 2
Raymond ,   South Africa   (07.06.06)
In response to #1 may he and his family feel the same pain as the Bassel family. If you trully are an Israeli, you a traitor & a fool. You should know this old saying about arabs: IF THE ARAB ISNT BY YOUR FEET, HE WILL BE BY YOUR THROAT. Wake up fool-all of Israel is Jewish lands & its the arabs who are the occupiers.I blame the death of this soldier directly on the coward,weakling-Olmert. AM YISRAEL CHAI
12. Beautiful soldier
A Christian ,   USA   (07.06.06)
Nuke the Palestinians......they are not His People......YOU ARE!
13. #1 you are the enemy of Israel
Marcel ,   Florida   (07.06.06)
Those like you who speak for and aid the destroyers of Israel will be destroyed with them . You are a shame and an outrage to all who desire to live in peace and have to live near the cult of deat Palestinian's May the Palestinian's find their way to Amalek's eternal abode soon.
14. Nobody can talk with evil. it's pointless.
(07.06.06)
15. WHAT CAN WE SAY
KACH 613 ,   MEDENAT YEHAUDA!   (07.06.06)
What can we say he is right on but we are afraid we might kill ''innocint civillans'' (they voted for Hamas NOT INNOCINT) so we have to risk the lives of Jewish boys SHAME ON OLMERT AND EVERYONE ON THE LEFT AND ALL THAT SUPPORTED THE EXPOLTION FROM GUSH KATIF!!!
16. Shame
Scott ,   Brazil   (07.06.06)
So Shame if the PA would Stop firing rockets and let the boy go. The people in Gaza would have drinking water and be able to turn on the lights. It is simple if the PA want peace they put down there guns. If the Jews put down there guns they get KILLED.
17. SEND THE IAF!!! DON'T PUT OUR BOYS IN HARM'S WAY!!
Zionist   (07.06.06)
He is absolutely correct. People like Aveer in Haifa (#1) should be ashamed. They are aiding and abetting the enemy. Israel should never succumb to extortion and threats. Terrorists should remain in jail.
18. unfortunately #1...
yoel ,   switzerland   (07.06.06)
his father is right, and he has the right to express his pain anyway. His son was killed for nothing. But maybe he was killed for Guilad's release, and it would look like exchanging one life for another. That would be cynical ! For the moment, that Bassal family is engaged in a mourning period, and you should be from those who support them in that painful time. I just wish him to rest in peace. and you, #1 should be ashamed for not choosing to support people from your own side.
19. To 1
Da dude   (07.06.06)
"stop this insane war " You mean like how after disengagement, Kassams were fired. The fact is that this isn't a 'cycle of violence'. It's a wave that begins with the arabs attacking more and more, no matter what Israel does. Well the exceptions are operation defensive sheild, the killing of Yassin, Rantisi, and you (hopefully) get the point. The fact is that is the bed the arabs have made for themselves. They have made war into something they love, now Israel is simply giving them what they love. "and talk to the leadership of the Palestinians" You have refused any and all offers by Israel. And futhermore, talk is cheap, actions are what truly matters. And in the end of the day Israel left Gaza and the arabs voted for hamas. These are the facts, it's enough with the obfuscation. "and strart by releasing young Palestinian childern and woman from Israeli jails " You mean the women who try to be suicide bombers or the kids carrying explosives to checkpoints? NO. "stop stealing land " One word: Disengagement and just to add to it, look up the san remo conference "humilating Palestinians " We don't have too, you guys are much better at doing it to yourselves. "so all our IDF troops will feel safe . " Our troops, our people, and our children, will feel safe when we come to our senses and listen to Mr. Bassel
20. Yehuda Bassel
s davies ,   jerusalem israel   (07.06.06)
The government of Israel has placed soldiers at risk of injury and death. How can Olmert ask of other people's sons, to do what neither he nor his sons were prepared to do. The man is a dishonest hypocrite.
21. Jewish Soldiers' Lives Worth More Than Terrorists & Families
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (07.06.06)
To hell with the UN and their BS "morals". Jewish lives are worth more than our enemies, and since they don't distinguish between military and civilian, they shoot from within populated areas, they commit atrocities, AND THEIR POPULATION SUPPORTS THIS, we should bomb them until they surrender unconditionally or flee to Egypt/Jordan. Then there will be peace. Jewish moral standards will save lives and win the war- not BS UN standards.
22. Dear Gabriel Goldwater..........
Shosh ,   Yahud   (07.06.06)
I have a great deal of respect for everything you do for the State of Israel. Having said that, you completely misunderstood what these parents are saying. Here in Israel we parents knowingly hand our children over to the state. Each and every one of us. We perfectly well understand that when we send them off on that bus their first day of the military we have lost our children. We pray they come back to us and when and if they do they have given to their country like no other people in the world. It is much different here than any other military situation in the world. These poor parents were not complaining their child gave his life but in the manner in which he did. They are right. It is time to take the gloves off and fight this like a real war. However, the powers that be will not allow Israel their true rights. This is the travesty. This is the ugly truth! The Palestinians are the most protected and lied for people on the planet earth and we all know it. Every head of state has blood on their hands because of it. May precious Yehuda rest in peace. May his parents because of his death say and do as they please. May them in their own way find peace, please. No one and I mean no one quite understands what they are having to endure!! Make no mistake. Jewish blood means nothing to anyone otherwise this fight would have been fought long ago. And btw: Our exquisite humanity does not amount to a hill of beans because the rest of the world lies for those who slaughter us. Taking the higher road because of who we are and or who we are held to take orders from simply fills the cemetaries of the planet not the dark hearts of those who rule it. Thank you.
23. to #12 please read #3
Shosh ,   Yahud   (07.06.06)
Our blood does not come cheap! It is time you with numbers far greater than ours do something about it. The power is in you.
24. WHY NOT THE AIR FORCE?
myron ,   usa   (07.06.06)
BECAUSE OLMERT et al TAKE THEIR ORDERS FROM THE US< THE EU , THE UN AND EURABIA, THAT'S WHY
25. Olmert-Peretz must resign
Alex ,   LA, USA   (07.06.06)
A soldier on the field was left wounded for an hour and Olmert-Peretz did not send IAF. What kind of dirty people Olmert-Peretz are? For them it is a game. They are personally responsible for the death of the soldier and must pay for this. They probably checked that he like the most soldiers are not from Tel Aviv and decided not to act. Criminals.
26. so much jewish hatred toward us. these guys hate
Kamal ,   Haifa   (07.06.06)
don't you remember how much you suffered in the world war two. How can you talk like this after all your suffereing. You have lost your moral superiority and become a people that only kill and bombard and steal land. Shame on you the jews of Israel
27. risk the soldiers life foe saving the palis life? No Way!!
yaron 119   (07.06.06)
Just missiles from air !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
28. the father has a valid point
caro ,   usa   (07.06.06)
the days of "like response " have long been over. necessary response is also passe'. overwhelming response is in order. screw the U.N. and Vatican City. if you want to take Gaza a piece at a time, then squeeze the populace south by devastating the ground taken. scorched earth. forget future casinos and developement. I took heart when I heard the Prime Minister say to the IDF to do what the IDF thinks is necessary, however this is beginning to appear as just rhetoric. We have an air force and the means to make any part of Gaza , or all of it , uninhabitable.
29. Condolences
Jonathan ,   East Coast, USA   (07.07.06)
I can't even relate to what it must feel like to lose a child of 20 years young. Any Israeli life is not one that should ever be lost. My thoughts, prayers, and condolences are with the family at this horrific time.
30. #7 IS AN IMPOSTER FALSELY USING MY NAME!
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (07.07.06)
