It's time you admit that those with "big black hats or having a long beard" are certainly more mentschen than most left-winger liberals. Very, very, seldom would you find non-mention amongst those "black-hatters". I, and probably, you, would feel much safer among "black hatters" and Rabbis than around those corrupt self-hating liberal Jews. If not for them, the world would be a better place. These corrupt idiots are the ones who have compassion for criminals. And to them this famous Jewish saying: "Those who are merciful to the cruel, will end up becoming cruel to the merciful." And that's exactly what's happening. Look around you and you'll see. Time you admit it!!!

You and "your people" are more dangerous than the arbs. But let me ask you when as you say blow people like me away who will prtect you who will serve in the army who will pay the tax so your 20 kids can eat for free who will buid your roads. I go back and say you dont belong here and if you find it comfortable here then keep you mouth shut and enjoy the freedom people like me give you. If you keep this up youll end up in some chamber waiting on God to help you and we all know what happens when we wait dont we.
33. # 30 Your answer
Mike ,   Israel   (07.07.06)
I think what your asking is if we are around gays as kids then we become gays. I have been around gays all my life as a child and an adult, never once did i concider having a gay relationship, its not a question of right or wrong its just a prefrance, Its like Israelis we have been around Arabs all of our lifes have we turned into Arabs?? Robert your theory does not work, the fact is each and everyone of us has a sexual prefrence and fantasys some seem strange and of the wall to others. I dont want to see gays marching for the same reason i dont want to see haradiems marching it has no point to it other than creat tention.

In Massachusetts it is now illegal for an adoption agency to "discriminate" between a heterosexual or same-sex couple when giving a child for adoption. Catholic adoption agencies that insisted on giving children only to hetero couples had to close down. A boy, for instance, given for adoption to two married lesbians is someone who is never going to have a father. Most of the kids he'll know will have a father, and he'll envy them and wish he could have one, but he won't. The state of Massachusetts Supreme Court has ruled that no one needs a father and no one needs a mother, it's just as good to have homosexual moms or dad. This is criminal insanity. Studies find that when an identical twin is gay, his or her twin is also gay only about 25 percent of the time. This is higher correlation than for regular siblings, but still not so high. So clearly genes alone do not account for homosexuality, or at least not in many cases. Environmental factors seem to play a role. So it's reasonable to be concerned that the more homosexuality is legitimized in society, the more homosexuality there will be, i.e. the more people unable to biologically have a children, which I see as a big loss both for those individuals and for society. This does not mean gay people should be treated badly--they should be treated well. But it does mean one can resist gay advoacy for sound reasons based on facts and logic, not necessarily having anything to do with religion.

i have to admit after long self reflection that i am the one in denial. my remark #31 is homophobic and my apologies to u. i am gay and proud in jerusalem. my holy land.
36. Please let the High Court of Justice step and....
Andy   (07.07.06)
and allow us our right to assemble in our city, the holy city of Jerusalem, the capital of ALL of the Jewish people, not just the "religious" fanatics. Let Levine say his peace - then shut up and go home. There will be no indecency, immorality, blasphemy at any public assembly during World Pride Jerusalem 2006. Only peace loving people proud of who we are.
37. Avi Hon, give us a break.
Ruby   (07.07.06)
You represent true Judaism because you violate its laws? Be logical. You do not represent true pure traditional Judaism. Your Homosexual youth activities might be seen as unwholesome to the 200,000 Jewish Children living in Jerusalem.
38. Gay Pride Parades
Barry   (07.07.06)
Under pressure from the public, the Toronto police laid criminal charges of public nudity against seven participants in the 2002 Toronto Gay Pride Parade. The Crown Prosecutor in Toronto, under pressure from homosexual activists, promptly dropped the charges against the accused, claiming the court would throw them out on the grounds that the marchers were not technically nude since they were wearing shoes!

KACH 613 ,   MEDENAT YEHAUDA   (07.07.06)
I will still fight that it should not be in ERETZ YISRAEL!!!
41. I believe that Jerusalem is the wrong place to do this
Caligula's Horse ,   Solomon's Stables   (07.07.06)
It is not tolerant to hurt other people's feelings in the name of free speech, as religious people make a majority in Jerusalem this is just a defiance.
42. LEAVE ISRAEL

you nasty sick people
43. Pride Parade
Jeffrey ,   Rishon   (07.07.06)
I am an oleh from a country thet permits gay marriage. When I can walk down the street and hold the hand of the man I love, when I can get total 100% equality in my relationship that a hetero couple has and when my marriage is blessed by a rabbi as my Bar Mitzvah was, then I will stop parading down the streets.
44. Gay Pride Parade
Hinda Blas ,   Sonoma Co, Cal, USA   (07.07.06)
I do not believe that Jerusalem should be used as a place for this kind of parade. As much as I support Gay rights (my brother is gay and even he says this is wrong), I feel that if there should be a parade at all, it should be done in perhaps Tel Aviv which is a more "modern" city. Let Jerusalem be the holy city and not be at a controversial over people's way of life. Besides, would Cairo ever consider having a Gay Pride Parade? Would Annan or even Beirut? How about Kuwait City or even the Gulf countries? Are there Gay Arabs? yes, of course. At least they have freedom to be themselves in Israel instead of living in fear in their own countries.
45. answer to #9 Euriel
Ed ,   USA   (07.07.06)
So you want to give Jerusalem to the Muslems, because the people in Jerusalem don't want to show people the abomination which usually accompanies these parades. Well all I can say is perhaps we should give Budapest to the Muslems since you are so generous with other peoples capital city, why not be generous with yours.
46. Calm down, it is not true. It will be held in JLM
Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem   (07.07.06)
47. Why in Jerusalem - for those who don't understand
One from Jerusalem ,   Jerusalem   (07.07.06)
I will try and explain why Jerusalem is the place to have the march. First of all, Israel state laws are not Halacha, Homosecuality is legal in the country. There are more gay rights in Israel then their are in most U.S. states. 2nd. Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and the holy city for three religious. Members of these religions (and I am Jewish) who are gay (which I am not) are entitled and should be allowed to come and show that they exist. That is the purpose of the parade. 3rd. If we don't hold the parade in Jerusalem it is giving up to terrorism. In the sense that people try and frighten the police into a certain policy. This is terrorism, the use of fear rather than logic. 4th. The police have an obligation to allow all oppinions to be heard in the city. The same way that there are left, right, christian evagelists, religious zionists and all other types of preferences, so to must the police permit gay/lesbian/ bisexual and transgendered people to march and say "we are here" I believe that the parade will happen in Jerusalem. I welcome all those who want to be at the parade to come. I welcome those who appose to appose quietly and peacefully.
48. IT WAS TO BE EXPECTED
Arik Silverman ,   Milwaukee USA   (07.07.06)
that Moslems and Jews, whose Koran and Torah share so much, yet who hate each other and can't get enough of killing each other, should join together in such an effort. May they eat the fruits they sow.
49. keep moving the parade
hanina ,   usa   (07.07.06)
until you get to the ocean.
50. Homosexual Events in Israel
David Chamberlain ,   Pelham, USA   (07.07.06)
Celebrating homosexuality is inconsistent with Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. No homosexual event should be held anywhere in Israel.
51. Its noy the Gay people they hate . . .

Don't be ridiculous
52. How Does the City Dwell Alone
The Golem ,   Los Angeles   (07.07.06)
I feel like I've just been kicked in the stomach by an ass. As a gay man, born to Jewish parents, related to great Rabbis, not totally unlearned, I will have to re-evaluate my connection with the Jewish Community. You don't want me in YOUR city of Jerusalem, fine. All zionist materials and requests for donations will be returned unopened. My seder will no longer end with l'shana haba b'yerushalaim. I will no longer observe Tisha B'Av. I well not speak on Zion's behalf nor pray for its peace. Judaism has just been sold out to a bunch of scared black hats who understand neither the relationship between G-d and humans, nor modern democracy. The State has sold its birthright for a mess of red stew, may it be happy in its choice. It should change its name from Israel to Edom. Jerusalem has greatly sinned, Therefore she is become a mockery. All who admired her despise her, For they have seen her disgraced; And she can only sigh And shrink back.

Marcus ,   Ottawa Canada   (07.08.06)
So now your comparing Jerusalem and Israel to Cairo, Annan, Beirut, Kuwait? I should hope that Israel is not in so sad a state. If it is, Israel is in a very unfortunate situation, indeed.
54. #44 JSLM compared to Cairo, Amman, etc
Marc ,   CA, USA   (07.08.06)
Citizens of Israel: in what other context would you condone #44 - the comparison of the freedoms of a democratic Israel with the tyranny of Egypt, Jordan, and arab gulf states? To demonstrate the triumph of Israel's democracy and to separate it from its less advanced neighbors is reason enough to advocate for, and to march in a JSLM parade. March for modernity, democracy and humanity.... virtues sorely lacking in the ME. #44: "Besides, would Cairo ever consider having a Gay Pride Parade? Would Annan or even Beirut? How about Kuwait City or even the Gulf countries? "
55. to #55
RobertK ,   Jerusalem   (07.08.06)
modernity, democracy, and humanity--great. But maybe some of the wisdom from the past still has something to say to us, too. For instance, modesty was once considered a virtue. Do we in Jerusalem have a right to be offended by people making out in underwear in the streets? If some gay people, dressed normally and behaving normally, want to hold a demonstration, hold signs, and advocate e for what they consider to be their rights, that's totally legitimate and I'll support to the hilt their right to do that. But that's not really what goes on at "pride parades." If people are NOT offended by pride parades, what does that say about their maturity and grasp of basic morality, especially the distinction between public and private?
56. Abusing free speech, to promote 'sin'
mari   (07.09.06)
Its interesting that the homesexual lobby sees this as an issue of free speech. Surely promotion of 'sin' can not be considered as free speech. But is in actuality a revolt against God and his expressed 'will' . The simple choice,we have is, who is telling us the truth, the homesexual lobby or the 'Bible'
57. religion = ignorance (again)
Jack ,   NYC, USA   (07.09.06)
Primitive gods for primitive people. None are so barbaric as those who profess to "believe"
58. Out of Jerusalem, out of Israel.
Mahmoud   (07.09.06)
At least the homofest won't be desecrating Jerusalem if it is moved to Tel Aviv. I don't understand how you Jews could allow a homofest or parade anywhere in Israel. An event celebrating such perversion would blaspheme and desecrate your country no matter where it is held in Israel. Why don't you just follow your own Torah?
59. please respond, someone
asking why here? ,   US, northeast   (07.09.06)
Isnt the parade in Jer. akin to burning a flag in the middle of a country music festival. Even if its legal, and even if the people around are blind patriotic hicks, isnt it insensitive, inflammatory, and likely to get you very hurt (or at least really really hated) WHY??? (ask the dixie chicks if it was worth it)
60. Pride party in Tel Aviv, formal demo in J'lem?
Rob McGee ,   Washington DC, USA   (07.09.06)
As a conservative Gentile American who is openly homosexual but distrustful of modern "gay culture," and who greatly admires Israel, I have followed this story with interest -- and I have very mixed feelings! Overall, I think that those who are openly gay should have some respect for the feelings of religious people who disapprove of homosexuality, and having the Pride event in Tel Aviv rather than in the Holy City is a good way to show this respect -- I am well aware that the atmosphere at Gay Pride events can be bawdy. At the same time, I am mindful that Jerusalem is not only a Holy City -- it is Israel's political capital, and as such a natural choice of location for civil-rights demonstrations. Therefore, it is my hope that Israeli gays who wish to organize festive "Pride parades" should choose Tel Aviv as a venue, but at the same time, organize quiet and formal demonstrations in Jerusalem to protest specific human-rights abuses against homosexuals.
