1. If Olmert didn't listen before, why should the EU listen now
Ilan ,   Ariel   (07.10.06)
Olmert, we told you this would happen before you expelled the people from their homes and you didn't listen then. So why should the EU pay attention to a moron like you now?
2. pullout don t meet violence but bring more violence
cordier   (07.10.06)
3. Goodbye Israel
John Lalor ,   Tel-Aviv   (07.10.06)
The government is a disgrace. Sharon ruined his own legacy by starting this disengegement/realignnment nonsense that's just code for "retreat and hope the Palestinians will respect us for it." I am only living here temporarily, but most of you will have to live with this travesty for your whole lives. I only hope very ew of you die because of the arrogance, naivety, stupidity of your leaders.
4. Olmert knows nothing of RIGHTS
John Lalor ,   Tel-Aviv   (07.10.06)
Olmert said: "Israeli citizens have the right to security, and the Palestinians have the right to live in security." WHAT?! No peoples who elect Hamas by such a majority "have the right to live in security." No peoples who repeatedly ascribe to actions, if not carry them out, that physically attacks, and tries to delegitimise, Israel, "have the right to live in security." Olmert's a bad politician. He's an even worse philosopher.
5. Forget it Olmert, you know your days in politics are finishe
Jenny   (07.10.06)
Even those of us who drudgingly supported "disengagement" now realize it is the disaster that many predicted. You, yourself ,said we have not had one day of peace so please end this suicidal mission of yours. Sharansky was right all along. If only he would be PM...
6. Palestinians are FOOLS
doug korthof ,   L.A. USA   (07.10.06)
Instead of building up their own economy, creating a country out of nothing, as the Jews did, the Palestinians keep on self-destructing. What do they add to the area? When are they going to go to work, instead of whining about their poverty and hoping for handouts from the West?
7. *Cough* *Sputter* What?!
David ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.10.06)
He's had an unprecedented number of no confidence motions for the span of time the government has been in office and we haven't even started to talk seriously about his realignment plan. Add, on top of it, that several Labor MKs expressed "growing sympathy" with these motions and you've got a government that may fall without ever approching the central pillar of its policies - and new elections pretty much means Kadima goes *poof*. And Olmert knows that's the case. He's chanting a mantra in the hopes it will come true. I suspect, however, that Shas and/or Labor will betray him at an opportune moment and we'll begin the election cycle all over again.
8. Israel elected this Ahab & Jezebel
Marcel ,   Florida   (07.10.06)
And Israel will suffer much more for their grave mistake.
9. All-Merd!!
Chaya ,   Bat Yam   (07.10.06)
10. Standing in the MIDDLE of the road
John ,   Tel-Aviv   (07.10.06)
Margaret Thatcher once said that standing in the middle of the road, you get hit from both sides. Olmert is realising this now. Or at least he should be. Comprimisers and conceders always lose in the long run. Olmert has no real position, because his party, and government, is formed on middle-of-the-road policies, and he's constantly trying to please everyone. I hope this government collapses soon. For the sake of Israel.
11. Time to start reinforcing school roofs in Tel Aviv
Yakov, Ph.D. ,   Ashkelon   (07.10.06)
Time for Olmert to realign his policies with reality. Withdrawal from Gaza was a disaster.
12. Why doesn't the media publish the polls
sw ,   israel   (07.10.06)
showing that a vast majority are against a further disengagement and now consider the Gaza effort a failure. The media is leftist and in cohoots with Olmert
13. # 3
Aaron Rudnick   (07.10.06)
We don't need your opinion foreigner. Israel will defend itself against all who come against it. If it takes the entire extermination of the Palis to achieve peace, then so be it. Go home John Lalor and stop criticizing us. We are too proud for you.
14. Olmert: "WE ARE TIRED of DEFEATING OUR ENEMIES"
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (07.10.06)
"We are tired of fighting, we are tired of being courageous, we are tired of winning, we are tired of defeating our enemies, we want to be able to live in an entirely different environment of relations with our enemies." -- Ehud Olmert in a June 2005 address to the Israel Policy Forum in New York. As Israel's enemies grow stronger, strengthend with the Gaza surrender, Olmert makes the stunning admission that he's tired of defeating Israel's enemies. Tired of winning, Olmert plans to surrender the strategic high ground of Judea and Samaria to Israel's implacable enemies, so that they can win.
15. GLOBAL ISLAMIC TERROR STATE SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED in GAZA
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (07.10.06)
Global Islamic terror state one has been successfully installed in Gaza with an Al Qaeda and Hizbullah presence, and Iranian Revolutionary Guard units training Fatah and Hamas in the Jew-cleansed areas of Gaza. Since the Gaza surrender, more weaponry has been brought into Gaza in ten months than in the previous 38 years. In those ten months southern Israel has been hit with more than 5,000 Kassam rockets. In the Jew-cleansed areas of global terrorist paradise Gaza, IslamoFascist religious supremacists enjoy complete freedom to attack and fire a daily barrage of rockets on the defenseless Jewish civilians in Sderot and now Ashkelon. U.S. EU, UN, Russia and Israel's leaders are determined to duplicate the success of Gaza with the installation of global Islamic terror state two in Judea and Samaria and parts of Jerusalem, bringing Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Netanya, Ra'anana, Kfar Saba, Afula, Hadera, Tiberias and the international airport within rocket firing range of the Islamists. Will Jews continue to accept being murdered and never-ending war, or will they surround the Knesset and demand that their barbaric enemies are defeated? They call the war against the Jews, the peace process.
16. Is Olmert simply playing smart politics ?
michael ,   tel aviv & london   (07.10.06)
Olmert is not stupid and was a good lawyer and knows politics. He knows the withdrawal from the West Bank is no longer on the cards - if it ever was. The Europeans don`t want it and the US doesn`t want it. They won`t recogonize the borders and won`t pay for it. And the majority of Israelis don`t want it. Olmert knows all this. So is he playing politics ? Putting forward an idea that the Palestinians don`t want (the thinking ones and not #1 above); the Jordanians don`t want and the Egyptians don`t want. Interesting !
17. Olmert is a real Bock(Behaima) EOM
Harry   (07.10.06)
18. Chamberlain Goverment
Sam Weinstein ,   USA   (07.10.06)
What do you expect from this foreign controlled 1938 Appeasement goverment.
19. "Realignment"
Rick S. ,   L.A.   (07.10.06)
Only fools don't learn from mistakes. Does Olmert know what he's doing or is he working for the Palis?
20. Olmert's Realignment
oskar prager ,   Petach Tikva   (07.10.06)
Having seen the Gaza disengagement results, the chaos in Gaza, the Quassams on Israel proper, If Olmert and his crew really want to go thru with re realignment in the West Bank, and invite more chaos there and terror from there into Israels main center, then Olmert is a bigger fool than I thought originally.
