Hi Chris, First of all thanks for making me laugh after a particularly sad day for us. I really appreciate you questioning what you read in the press and expressing your confusion so openly. Please allow me to fill in some blanks and shed some light. No surprises what you read in the western press is not at all the true situation nor do they state any historical facts, but that's the case for most problems around the world - the media spin the story they want - you need to speak to locals and read the history to know what's really going on. Bottom line we use minimal force to deal with a bunch of brainwashed people, who've been told this land is theirs - the reality is we've been here for thousands of years before Islam was created; Judaism is almost 6,000 years old; Islam began 550-600 years after Christianity. Muslims have no historic or religious rights to this land - the Koran never mentions the word Jerusalem (it only states that Mohammed had a dream about a FAR OFF place" and from that they conclude they own Jerusalem. The Christians clearly have reasons to care about Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Nazareth - Islam has no claim to this land. During the Ottoman empire Jerusalem was never the islamic capital; but they did want to anger the Jews so they went to the Western Wall area (the last remains of our holy temple) and destroyed our synagogue and built a mosque. They then pretend this mosque has something to do with islam from day one - not possible as Mohammed was around 500-600 years after Christ and the Ottoman Empire was around 1000 years after this. The word Palestinian (even 50yrs ago) referred to JEWS living under British Mandated Palestine. (After the fall of the Ottoman Empire the land of Israel was under British Mandate till 1948). I have Jewish friends whose grandparents had a palestinian passport. I'll soon return to the present - first a little more history. The Romans invaded Israel just after the time of Jesus...as an insult to the Jews they renamed the land Philistinia (ie the time of Samson and Delia in the old testament the Philistines were our enemies)...they renamed SHECHEM our 3rd most important religious city as NAPLES after the Italian city; phonetically P and B are often interchangeable - hence the word NABLUS. They also renamed Jerusalem as Aelias Capitolina but that name never stuck....The Philistines were an Aegean race - they are now extinct. Greeks are not Arabs. The Arabs living here are simply economic migrants from North Africa and the Middle East most of whom moved here the last 100 years or so. In 1948 the UN agreed a 2state solution mainly to appease arabs. We agreed and the Arabs refused; but of course surrounding arab countries eg. Jordan, Egypt took a big chunk of land first so if you look at the pre and post 1948 map a huge chunk of Israel suddenly disappeared - the people claiming to be palestinian got swallowed up into Jordan Lebanon and Egypt and still live in refugee camp; no passports; no rights...they are treated terribly by arab countries. Arabs who chose to stay in Israel in 1948 were given equal rights, Israeli passports etc. Arab nations were still angry a jewish state was created so they invaded us in 1948, 1967 and 1973 and lost badly each time. In 1964 the PLO was created. In 1967 they decided that they needed another political propoganda tool so they started calling themselves Palestinians. (ran out of space - read next response too)

Bottom line the arabs don't want any Jews in the middle east - this is the root cause of the problems - it's not a land issue. You need to read about the Hubadiye Treaty. At the start of Islam they were a conquering people and when they were not strong enough to invade their enemies they were allowed to make a false, temporary peace with their enemies as long as the enemies – the infidels (those who don’t believe in Islam) were subservient and paid additional taxes – so the entire Oslo “peace process” was a Trojan Horse. In English they spoke of peace but in Arabic speeches they mentioned the Hubadiye and many of us knew what this meant. Alas too many on our side were duped into wishful thinking and a deep-seated desire for peace. Some of the worst offenders in the region are the Saudis, who pay for the wahabbism strain of fundamental islam to be spread and taught in schools and mosques around the world – the US wants oil so it accepts the status quo. Iran and Syria are the next big evils – they support and harbour many wanted terrorists. Christians must realise that we are fighting worldwide Jihadism together – we are fighting the same enemy as Al Queda – many factions, many groupings - all with one agenda – to spread fundamental islam around the world and conquer Jewish and Christian nations – it’s very scary I know. Under Jewish Israeli control we have always respected religious sites of all religions. With respect to our army I think we have the only army in the world, whose constitution respects first the lives of all civilians (including those of our enemies) and secondly protects its own soldiers. This is a stupid situation to be in - an army must first protect its own. The GDP of Israel is bigger than the rest of the Middle East put together despite no natural resources; we have plenty of intellectual capital though and many processes and technology, are invented here and Jews have won many nobel prizes - we do make a very positive contribution to the world. Our schools and synagogues preach understand and peace; we base our lives on values..in fact Judaism is a way of life based on the old testament and the 10 commandments. We care about human life - hence the army's constitution. But despite this we are hated by most countries. It suits world leaders, who need a scapegoat/or are simply antisemitic. Our army/navy/airforce are also stronger than the rest of the Middle East put together and it has been our choice of self-restrained rather than lack of capabilities that has prevented widespread bloodshed to-date. To answer your specific questions, they live in houses that we built for them; we provided them with healthcare, schools, water, electricity etc. There has never been a time when food or water was made unavailable to them. THe millions the world gives in aid goes mainly to fund terrorism or into crony hands eg. it is well-documented that Arafat stole millions and hid them in bank accounts in Switzerland and after his death his bodyguards, top leaders and wife fought over the money.
