1. Olmert is to weak to respond.
Dan Kelso   (07.12.06)
And Olmert is going to do what? Again, I would like nothing more than to see the Israeli's pound the living shi'ite out of them, but this "restrained" horse manure is simply not going to cut it. If the Arabs didn't see Israel's government as being weak and hesitant, they wouldn't have tried this crap in the first place. Assad was in the residence that Israel overflew a while back and rattled his windows. The proper response would have been all four jets dropping ordnance on that house in an effort to eradicate Assad. No, the current Israeli government is too "moderate" (read: leftist) to actually do what should have been done already. Olmert should put Leiberman in the goverment. But as of now, Olmert prefers Beilin and Peres. What does that tell you?
2. Israel wake up
Bush ,   usa   (07.12.06)
The end of days are coming near. The Zohar (written 2000 yrs ago before islam was created) says that Mashiach is coming in Galut Yishmael. As we see now they are getting more powerful we know we have noone to turn to except the G-d of the Jews. Enough fighting about religion or not religion. Gay rights are not the most important discussion now. Let us all unite together now and pray to Hashem for their safe return. Everything written in our Torah for our time is coming true. let's learn what we can do to save us from their hands. All that freedom crap that the seculars keep demanding in Israel is worth nothing if you're in war. If Arabs take over your land you ain't getting any freedom. Therefore you have one of two options. 1) Enjoy all the freedom you want now until the arabs get their feet further and further in Israel which can happen any day. 2)Unite and Pray to Hashem to be saved like He's been doing for us for 3000 yrs already and learn what we can do for Hashem to avoid another Holocaust. In the long run it might be less freedom but at least we will still hold our rights to Israel
3. Waht other choice ?
Mracel ,   Florida   (07.12.06)
What other options the Palestenian and the Lebanese have. I srael is holding more than 10,000 prisoners in Israel with no hope of release. They have to do something to release this 10,000 prisoners.
4. What is good for israel ?
Wise Man ,   USA   (07.12.06)
It is ok for Israel to kidnap, kill and inprison arabs. But it is not ok for arab to do the same to israel. Your backword logic is the source of ypur trouble.
5. Negotiate
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (07.12.06)
Israel must negotiate to release all its kidnapped soliders. This is a war with the arabs and do not deny that.In any war prisoners exchange is a must.
6. I sareli respond
Oqua Tangin Wann ,   Planet Mars   (07.12.06)
Here in Mars we think Israel will shell some empty area and hit some empty buildings. Go Israel show them how to shell an empty field
7. Israel needs to tell Lebanon
Jota   (07.12.06)
that if the kidnapped soldiers aren't returned, every power plant in Lebanon will be flattened.
8. l want assassınatıons musT begın for terror Leaders
(07.12.06)
9. Beirut and Damascus - the twin parking lots, coming soon!
(07.12.06)
11. I think...
(07.12.06)
I think its time for the nd of Hizbollah. Lebanese govt wants to do nothing about it and that leaves one option - Israel must do what it must. Lebanon is not takin reponsibility for the terror in its borders (financed by Syria ahem Iran ahem Saudi). Let's arrange a meeting for Nasrallah and Allah. He can see how akbar he really is. Oh and the other thing - ELECTIONS NOW!!!!! I want to retract my Kadima vote...If I knew before.. I would have voted Bibi
12. As i read, i am in shock!
Marc ,   Beirut Lebanon   (07.12.06)
as i read what everyone had written here i go into a state of shock... im a 17 year old guy that is living in lebanon. i enjoy life alot and not im scared shit of what is to happen.. we the people have not done anything to deserve this.. i live next to a power plant station and the isreals are most propably going to hit that first, meaning if the explotion is big i am going to die tonight. so please think before you write saying that the israels should flatten all the power plants.. please think about us, the people.. we are going to be suffering the most. please pray for us in our difficult time...
13. "The rules of the game"
Bill Pearlman ,   Chicago, USA   (07.12.06)
Here in I think lies the problem, I can't imagine Patton, Rommel, Robert E Lee, or Gideon talking about war like its a game. The role of an army in a war is to crush the oppostion, by whatever means necessary, not to engage in some sort of measured ballet dance. What's going on here is rediculous and sad. Deterrence has been lost. The terrorists are on the march, and Israel is lead by somebody who is corrupt and weak enough to be an alderman in Chicago.
14. To Mr not so Wise man
truth is Tangible ,   and provable   (07.12.06)
There is a big difference between arresting someone who comes to try and kill your people and kidnapping solders who are guarding a border against such attacks. Wise man must be a retarded man to think there is anything like a moral equivalence. But then again what can anyone expect from the Arab world, they have repeated the same lies for so long they now believe they are true. pathetic wise man, thinking yourself wise proves you are a fool.
15. #10 contravenes terms of use
Rustum ,   London, UK   (07.12.06)
Contravenes this: Such reviews shall only be carried out in order to attempt to prevent the publication of hate speech, threats, vulgarity and contents which are prima facie illegal,
16. Smell of weakness
Salomon S Mizrahi ,   Sao Carlos/SP/Brazil   (07.12.06)
Like predators, the Arabs attacked smelling the weakness of their prey. With a weak government and having lost the deterring power, Israel became the perfect prey. Israel should restore its deterrence power, for instance, destroying power stations in Syria, the presidential palaces or something equivalent. However with the present government, nothing will be done.
17. Remeber the LEBANON? Sharon's Operation "Grapes of Wrath"?
Nebojsa Yitzchak M ,   Toronto   (07.12.06)
Peres and Peresites prevented its success. That particular group was acting like the “Fifth Column” against the Israel for the enemy.. ANY ENEMY. Israel hast go into Lebanon and finish the Job, last time when the Israeli Army went into Lebanon people were greeting them by throwing the rice on the Israeli solders. Today since last betrayal of the Lebanese population I doubt that this will happen this time again. BUT! If Israel shows to be true friend and ally of i.e. Lebanese Christians and does everything to protect their interests as well Israelis on the long term I truly believe Israel will have very important and a trusted ally on its Northern border. Syria has to be dealt totally with and permanent solution has to be IMPOSED on them. It is the critical moment to use this TRAGIC PROVOCATION and would be an opportunity and to rectify this issue once for good. SYRIA is “Hezbollah” and all evil in Lebanon is sawn by the Syria which was dismantling the Lebanese society in order to expand its borders into a social-vacuum they created; with the terror, anarchy, pillaging that was going there for the past 30 years under the “watchful” eye of the “humanity”. Lebanon was slowly butchered out of existence what was once a Switzerland of the Middle East become just another Muslim HELL HOLE. Israel has to make a bold move and take whatever measures are necessary and to restore a peaceful society there that was once flourishing at its northern border. Syria is client state of IRAN, all aggressive posturing of Iran is going trough the Syria. If Iran gets a nuclear device it would be most likely delivered trough Syria via “Lebanese” terrorist organization (any). Taking Syria out of that equation (together with Lebanon of course) that threat would be harder to implement. Syria is a dedicated enemy that will not cease unless it is disarmed and “educated” as of the consequences of the terrorism. Syria should be kicked out of Lebanon promptly, ANY ensuing hostilities from their forces would be pretext to the total destruction of Syrian defense forces, INFRASTRUCTURE, power-plants, bridges, airports, manufacturing plants, road-railroad grids what NATO did to Yugoslavia should be done to the Syria. It will de-facto take Syria out of circulation for at least 20 years, Israel should declare Syrian region as its strategic zone of Interest as US declared Grenada, and any military “provocation” or escalation should be met with utmost resolve. It is very important that enemy and potential enemy has no clue as the gravity-cost of their action would be they have to guess.. but they have to be for CERTAIN that Israel will respond DISPROPORTIONATELLY, how disproportional its should be left to them to guess on. Syria has Soviet weapons which are still quite “archaic” and electronically (seriously) obsolete, It would loose a BIG-TIME, and its Iran’s terror-allegiance would be to expensive, so Israel and Syria would have 20 years to talk it over.. Perhaps even peace could come to fruition?
18. To #14
Wise Man ,   USA   (07.12.06)
I think we do not see the same thing here. We think Istael is the enemy and that is the case. So when we attack enemies it is justefied. Do you agree that we are enemies ? If the answer is yes so all the bits are off my Friend.
19. we heLp ısrAEL ıf needed as beıng solDIer

20. Stop the Bravado, End occupation, Exchange prisoners
Daniel ,   North Tel Aviv   (07.12.06)
Israeli soldiers are being attacked and kidnapped because we are holding 10,000 prisoners that should be with their families right now, 10000 hostages in Israeli jails. This will serve to trigger endless attacks against Israel. when are we going to learn that oppression does not pay? We are still occupying the Shebba farms in South Lebanon, The west Bank , East jerusalem. We are killing civilians, destroying homes and blowing us infrastructures every day; are we surprised with the other side attacks on us? If we continue like this , we will only have war and suffering for one generation after another. I am really fed up of life in this war zone and I am seriously thinking for going back to a civilised peaceful society like London Daniel, A jew with a concience
21. re: As I read I am in shock
Greg ,   Boston USA   (07.12.06)
To Marc and others in Lebanon. We're thinking about you and hoping for the best. Stay as safe as you can. The disgusting and blood thirsty comments on this list are partly bravado from people who think they are safe. Like a bully who only hurts people who they think can't defend themselves. They're also representative of the people of Israel and its supporters overall. Somehow its become a country dominated by vicious and violent people intent on inflicting pain and suffering on others. I'm sorry you have to see that, but people like that will always be there. We just need to do the right thing whenever we can. There are still more people trying to help than there are people trying to hurt. We help others as much as we can and in the long run the people who help will win out.
22. #18 yes all bits are off, nice try to show Intelligence
truth is   (07.12.06)
Yes, but you all claim you are the victims to the world and the fact is you Arabs are the aggressors, always have been. So enjoy the fact that world opinion has turned against you because the world sees your lies. So when Israel cleans you clocks again don't expect any sympathy from anyone. Live by the sword, die by the sword...
23. Mark why do your people support terrorist, then whine ...
(07.12.06)
when you have to pay the price for your evil, supporting EVIL... If you get killed thank the terrorist. Sorry your government should be having you in mind when they support terrorist. BUT THEY DON"T!
24. Well done Daniel #20
Wise Man ,   USA   (07.12.06)
Good pless you and all the jews like you who are true human.
25. #3
(07.12.06)
Marcel, 10000 terrorists not civilians but I have an explanation for your commentary, you are muslim or antisemic. I am Brazilian and feel shame when i think that exist Brazilian like you. Please, go to Lebanon and defend terrorists, fight against Israel but you need to know, terrorists gonna kill you. Dont worry about Israel, you dont live here, you are not jewish so take care of your life.
26. THANK YOU DANIEL # 20
Jospeh ,   Jerusalem   (07.12.06)
It is very rare to find neutral, positive comments on this website. Daniel from Tel Aviv understand the picture and what is really happening in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The real problem is the occupation. When that is over, all the violence will be over. I hope this idea will spread more among the citizens of Israel so both the Palestinians and the Israelis could live side by side without problems and violence. Well said Daniel.
