A problem with what, your question is indirect, I applaud the american stance, I think they are sitting back, letting iran and syria believe they are only backing Israel in words and meetings, letting Israel pave the way, when syria and iran get involved I think the US will too, and I hope Canada does as well, we are sitting on the border of Iran. The US has a right to tell Israel what to do and they best listen, why will, 20 BILLION+ reasons a year they should listen! If the US pulled all its support for Israel they would die within weeks the whole country would be gone. There are thousands of Iranian Jews in LA and many in Florida. For those who complain about US dollars to Israel..know that a part of the agreement is that Israel spend a major portion of the funding in buying goods from US companies. Also, be aware Israel is the only country which has repaid loans received from the USA. Additionally, when Israel designs a modification to weapons purchased from the US the upgrade is passed on to the US for incorporation into US equipment. So don't make an issue of aid to Israel as we benefit more from Istael than from any other country to which we give aid. Case in point look at the voting record in the UN of the countries to whom we give aid when it comes to voting in support of the US.

Sorry to disappoint you but Israel produces its own tanks (the Merkava is better than its American equivalent) its own guns (ever heard of an Uzi or Galil?) and its own missiles. The only thing Israel gets from the US are aircraft which it promptly improves with better guidance systems and many other improvements - the Israelis were building their own fighter jet - the Lavi - but it got too expensive.
