2. To No. One
An Honest American ,   USA   (07.16.06)
You are no American. American people will always remember My Lay, the young Viatnamese girl burned by the napalm running to no where. That brought about the moral and military defeat of the mighty American Army. Are you calling for the moral and military defeat of Israel? sure you are by asking to use an internationally prohibited weapon. SHAME ON YOU
3. Nasrallah gets too much credit
Renaldo ,   Pittsburgh, PA US   (07.16.06)
Nasrallah did nothting more than follow orders. He did not act unilaterally. Either the Iranians gave marching orders for the kidnappings, or Nasrallah came up with the idea, but that is VERY unlikly. The actions by Israel are long overdue, and have full support of the US Government, and the vast majority of citizens.
4. Whych is why you switched to Daisy Cutters, right?

7. Israel popularity among Arabs
Ihab ,   Jeddah, Saudi Arabia   (07.17.06)
Lebanese "Nakba" as Gen Moshe Elad named is simply a short sighed approach. Let us remember facts : - hizbollah is a widely shiite party whose popularity originates from its "jihadist" nature and not really due to it political stand out today. - The timing of the strikes of the so called "IDF" was the most "foolish" act. It preceded the conclusion of the Lebanese Dialogue process that strated to put Hizbollah in a cornered situation because some lebanese parties were aiming to finish Hizbollah politically and thanks to the Israeli strikes , it created a getaway for Nasrallah. - the harsh strikes of the Israeli forces that hit -as usual- the civilians simply rallyed many Lebanese behind Nasrallah and made him a hero outside Lebanon at the eyes of the Arabs and in the same time weakened the position of the "moderate" leaders. - When the article talks about the media star, it is really hilarious. In spite of all the attacks of the airplanes, still Hizbollah is succeeding to continue his resistance against the Northern frontiers of Palestine. IDF assumed that the structure and organizing capabilites of Hizbollah would fall apart. This did not happen. - Economy can and will be restored and these same Saudis have left with bitter feelings , not against Hizbollah, but definitely against Israel. So even for the moderate arabs , you are just showing them what hizbollah has tried to convince them ages ago. Keep up the good job!!

Bunch of fighters are kicking your ass everyday and terrifying, scrumbling your stupid political and army tops. Come on, the whole world is rallied behind you like dogs and you can't win one single battle with Hizbollah solder? Wow, I am amazed of your courageous solders. Honesly, if I was you, I would just pack and leave...before is too late..!
11. King of arrogance
Shadi El RAmli ,   Canada-Montreal   (07.17.06)
The only king of arrogance in above words is the esteemed researcher. I have seen half blinded arrogants those who see in one eye, but your words show that you are completely blind , your both eyes are closed shut.

James Cloomsney ,   Riverdale NY   (07.17.06)
This is one of the best analysis I have ever read of Nassrallah, as a former of ME reseracher, I can't agree with this more.
14. To #10
Ed ,   Los Angeles   (07.17.06)
Since when did you get sober enough to write your stupid opinion. If you knew anything regarding the Israeli Army, you would know that they are the best in the World. Since they fight not only bravely in the field but more important they fight smart, having an army of inteligent and thinking men and women. But then of course you wouldn't understand nor comprehend that with your moronic anti semitic brain.
15. It is about time
Bian Shaeri ,   Paris -formerly Iran   (07.17.06)
I am not a Zionist, neither a jew or Israeli but I stand for Israel since It is about time to show Hizbulla and Hamas the way out of civilization. As a Muslim, whose family was so nicely treated by Israeli medicals I realized that it is s big shame to be related or linked to these two movements. These are not the Islam that prophet Mohammad was thinking of...I wish Israel win this war and destroy the infrastructure of the two. Let G-D be with the righteous nations.
16. El El Israel!!!
Nad Eisenhauer ,   Harrisburg PA   (07.17.06)
I salute the Israeli people and ask them to smoke them (Hizbolla and Hamas) out and bring them to justice as soon as possible, kill all terrorists, destroy their infrastructure and bring them on their knees!!! If the G8 can't do this, you do it! all int'l community is with Israel, go ahead!!!
17. and you saw we exaggerate?
shirly ,   israel   (07.17.06)
not a good idea to use holocaust terms with jews babe. If Israel wanted to implement such an lawful solution as the "final solution" you wouldnt be here able to spreadyour ignorant views.
18. No. 14 - Regarding intelligent and thinking women
Lois D. ,   Baltimore, Maryland   (07.17.06)
Kindly remember that the German Army in WW!! was also comprised of "intelligent and thinking soldiers" yet I don't think we'd want to glorify them. The only bravery and courage I find is in the Israelis who refuse to serve. Courage is not what Israeli soldiers do to the Palestinians in the occupied territories. That's what you call first-class bullies. And please don't dare call them or me "anti-semitic."
19. the expert on israel
goira ,   london   (07.17.06)
admirable piece of writing.all the more so for being my thoughts exactly. arrogance hubris nemisis body language etc were all my thoughts. also his arrogance in telling one and all that he is the biggest expert on israel.. notice his beard has gone white.overnight?
20. to the muslims on here
Allan ,   london   (07.17.06)
I really actually feel sorry for you, you have seen how easily it is to mis manage a situation and every time you blow it. Nasrallah and his ilk are if they thought Israel would just sit back and let them attack soveriegn territory and do nothing. You people are quick to blame Israel, they claim to be for Jihad but do they listen to word of g-d or the word of satan? I feel sorry for the Druze and Christians of Lebanon, who are decent hardworking and honourable people, who have witnessed the destruction because of the muslims. I pray for these citizens of Lebanon and I hope one day we can live side by side in peace without the Hezbollah and their kind.
21. lebanese nakba
brian ,   los angeles   (07.17.06)
lois (comment #18), The only way that I woud consider you anti-semitic is if you are holding Israel to a standard different than every other nation in the world that deals with existential threats from enemies. So, I would be interested in your comments regarding the American response to the Taliban, the Russian response to the Chechnyans, the British response to the IRA, etc. Although Israelis would infinitely prefer not to be ruling Palestinians, I believe that they've tried repeatedly to hand the territories over to someone who will use them to nation build instead of using them to create terrorist infrastructure. The greatest oppression of Palestinians comes from their own leadership who have a decades long history of stealing their money, their children and their hopes to pursue their unacheivable fantasy of creating a Middle East that is Judenrein. If just once the Palestinians were to demand accountability from their leadership peace could be acheived in short order. But, as long as they try to use everyone else as a scapegoat (Jews, Christians, Americans) they are destined to Nabka after Nabka.
22. Magnificent!!
Gloria ,   Gharba Tunis   (07.17.06)
What a magnificent article, how you Jewish people use to say? 'yashar Koach!!!
23. Finally

24. Hizbolla= rligious criminals
Ja'afar Buziker ,   San Bernardino, CA   (07.17.06)

You are either anti-semetic, unintelligent or completely ignorant of historical facts. Very easy for you to say living in Baltimore, MD.
28. GET RID OF NASRALLAH AND HIZBOLLAH
A.K ,   BAGHDAD,IRAQ   (07.17.06)
I totally understand the Israeli perspective and support it 110%, as here in Baghdad we suffer the same daily having Shiite terrorist militias and Hizbollah subsidiary Moktada al sadir and his demented mahdi army who fire RPG's at our neighbourhoods daily and now that there is a Shiite government in Iraq, the Shiites feel confident that they (the heirs of the Islamic empire) will rule and prevail. Its amazing how Arabs enjoy attacking others and whille incompetent and when you strike back, they run and cry. Please dont stop until you detsroy Nasrallah and his terrorist organization. by doing that you would have slapped iran, syria and Shiites in Iraq who support Hizbollah I cant wait until my country is partitioned and hopefully we get our land back from shiites all of mesopotamia so we can live, TURKOMANS, ARMENIANS, MANDEANS, CHALDEANS, ASSYRIANS and the civilized sunni Arabs who want a secular state we can live together and fight Shiite terror Moktada al sadir anounced that he calls upon his people to support Hizbollah and to fight 'their' common enemy 'Israel' so that the prophecy is fullfilled and then they get their demented Mahdi to rule them sick sick people GOD BLESS ISRAEL
29. Allan
Viveka ,   Finland   (07.17.06)
The Lebanese Muslims mostly are tolerant and secular ("intolerance" there can be found among all groups, as the events in Shabra and Shatila demonstrated). Hezbollah actually initially aimed to turn Lebanon into an Iranian type of society and failed cos it didn't get support among the ordinary Lebanese, Muslims and Christians. Obviously, Hariri, who was a Muslim, and set the rebuilding of Lebanon as a common goal for the Lebanese people, was popular among all the religious groups.
30. Hassan NaserALlah
Ammar ,   Palestine   (07.17.06)
i believe than NaserAllah has more crdebilty among isreali than Olmert.. because if NasserAllah promises, he will fullfill ... and he never lies to his people... but Olmert promise isreali scurity by on strategy death and destruction!!!! please show my letter ..
